- Mountain Biking extreme on the "Zugspitze". Philipp Foltz & Stefan Schlie took their mountain bikes & went up to the peak of the "Zugspitze", Germanys highest mountain for an extreme freeride descent. Defying the bad weather conditions, they started the ascent of the "Zugspitze" with their maintain bikes & they were rewarded with a beautiful panorama & an exciting freeride decent.

The film makes it look so easy..., and even though they explicitly say how hard it was, I don't think you can appreciate just how incredibly strenuous this trip is without having done something similar. Zugspitze is Germany's highest peak and it is no joke getting up that mountain, or down.
You said it. I couldn't even find the right trail to the top when I ascended (I ended up clinging to the South Riffelspitze instead). The climb is so physically demanding it takes your focus away. Descending by MTB? Wow! These guys definitely earned their beers. Would love to have the gpx from their adventure...

Es mag ja nicht "extrem" sein, aber eine gute sportliche Leistung ist es sicher und das muss man respektieren. Um Heckmair zu zitieren: was zählt ist das Erlebnis, und jenes kam in dem Clip ganz gut herüber, jedenfalls dessen schöne Seiten.

Alter das letzte Stück bei der Zugspitze :D Ihr trägt da eure Fahrräder hoch und ich schaff es erst zu Fuß. Mann war das geil anstrengend aber es lohnt sich :D

It went together easily in less than an hour. czcams.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Make sure the front fork is forward or the pedals will hit the front tire. Tires are both a little soft so it needs air before I ride it. The rear wheel didn't come with a clamp regular bolts hold it on. The front had the clamp. No scratches out of box. Rims are a little off with a slight wobble. They could have spent more time with the spoke tool fixing the run out. So far out of the box I'm happy with it. I did replace the pedals with a nice aftermarket set. After riding it a bit my A$$ is a bit sore so I ordered another seat. Overall I'm nearly 60 and didn't ride a bike in 30 years. I like my new 29" Schwinn. It will be used for casual rides with my friend.

Worum gehts denn?
Die Tour würde ich auch gerne mal machen. Durchgehend S4 im oberen Teil sind aber wirklich nix für normale Biker. Aber ein Traum ist es schon. Die Bedingungen müssen halt auch perfekt passen!

Cool film! But the translated title doesn't work in Englisch. "Aufbruch zur Zugspitze" might be better translated as "Journey to" or "Destination Zugspitze" but alas, it's already published. The german-english film industry has a special relationship and tradition of bad working titles in both directions. LOL. But still, it doesn't take away from the cinematography or the work of the riders!

Wir kann den ein Bike kaput gehen hast nen Rahmenbruch gehabt oder wie?
Klisch Geo Bin Starken Sprung gefahren sch*** gelandet und Die Federgabel hat sich verbogen (Fox), dann bin ich gestürzt die ca. 10m dort Rahmenbruch.
Gefühlte Tausend Knochenbrüche seitdem fahre ich nicht mehr.
Will aber bald wieder anfangen.

Positive denken :) Habe das selbe auch schon durchgemacht. Habe mir damals den den sakral wirbel gestaucht war kurz davor für immer an den rollstuhl gebunden zu sein. Seid dem fahr ich nur noch Trails die technisch sind wo man langsam fahren muss da man sonst garnicht klar kommt.
Hoch fährt ihr wie Profis und runter wie Lappen
