The septic *tank with worms is a great idea.* Toilets with solar power are also great. They could make products. Solar panels are now affordable enough. They would make products from waste. Like fertilizer or gas for fuel.
I have talked to mayor Jennie about hiring the homeless to eventually build 5000 unique bathrooms around Seattle. All from different recycled materials and deigned with art. Let the homeless live next to them and keep them clean We purposely build the cleanest city on earth. I wished I could have talked this out with you or your wife just to get the initial funding to hire the first construction crews. But perhaps someone from your office will read this. Thank you for your work. Having a bathroom makes anywhere home. ❤
When I lived on the river in the mountains I would put a scoop of cooled ashes in the latrine after using it. The ashes would break down the waste and for three years it never smelled or filled.There's also a composting toilet at the Sierra Club cabin at Horse Camp on the side of Mount Shasta that might be a good example to learn from.
I saw another natural toilet, and reused things afterwards - they did something of the same, although I'm not exactly sure... I don't think it was ash but something other natural thing. Can't remember.
