John Farnham has a voice like a glass of Red it gets better with age. Even today no Australian artist can come close us Australians are so lucky to have him.
The highlight of this - Johnny Farnham with Ray Charles. You can tell even Ray appreciates Johnny's voice. He can vocally keep up with and compliment the best of them. In fact, he outperforms a lot of them. He kills any genre you throw at him. What an Australian treasure! Something to really be proud of.

Personally I don't believe anyone can judge "best..."anything. I have no hesitation in agreeing that JF is right up there, but I don't rate Springsteen that highly. Some others I do rate are Burton Cummings, Freddie Mercury, Robert Plant, Glen Shorrock, Joan Baez, Grace Slick.......

This is truly one of the best videos I have ever seen on CZcams, especially the tribute to Johnny O'Keefe and the blending of Johnny O'Keefe into the show in the performance of the song Sing. John Farnham is one of the world's greatest singers as can be seen here in this incredible live show. Guitarist Stuart Fraser of the Farnham Band was young and very handsome looking back then in 1997. That was a fabulous band John Farnham had, especially backing singers Lisa Edwards and Lindsay Field and the entire band including Chong Lim on keyboards, Angus Burchall on drums and the saxophone player Steve Williams too, and not forgetting Brett Garsed on guitar too. They sounded live exactly like on John Farnham's albums. I'm sure the people of Dagenham, England must be wishing John Farnham is somehow extradited back there where he came from because they missed out on one of the greatest singers of all time.

This arrangement of 'Pressure Down' is Fantastic. John should perform more of the alternate arrangements of his hits in concert. Simply Brilliant Concert all round. This looks very much like a forerunner to The Main Event. Thank you so much for posting this for our enjoyment. Magnificent.

John always has a great show. Ray Charles was the only artist that spoilt the event. His legs flying all over the place. I reckon John Farnham was amused at Rays over- the- top- comments.

@@mishelreynolds5317 I loved this concert , what a joy to watch , THANKYOU and I agree Ray was using his whole body to express his joy . I hurt for him when he had awful feedback thru his earpiece and ripped it out and tossed it , he proberly ripped someone a new one as well , but John came to the rescue and indicated that Ray was having a problem what a professional , and leaning down to sing close to him and calmed him down . Ray loved John , more joy by clinging to him when it was over, can you imagine being blind and the only thing you have is your hearing to rely on and then horror when it blows up on you . All these guys were so great , big fan of them , JOHN will always be it for me . Lots of LOVE to you and your family , life has thrown you a rotten curveball ,I hope you are seeing how much LOVE is out there for you it's like a viral tsunami xoxo Gisele Sims

What about that voice, I've been a fan of John since he was Johnny singing "Sadie", yikes I'm aging.... while his voice continues to mature.
Am so enjoying this concert, please tell me it is available on DVD or even video so I can go and buy a copy. If not please consider releasing it on a DVD as it is awesome

sounds like a horn was supposed to come in but it didn't.. He wasn't happy lol
@@CaptainsChannel58 He was well known for being a perfectionist. Love his pleasure when it goes well. He was delighted with his duets with John.

@@allymayful Hmm...he's a great all-time performer. Pity, though, that he let a bit of incredibly childish unprofessionalism creep into it. I lost a considerable respect for him for that. John had to come on and mop up with with some diplomacy. And judging by his body language towards Ray, I'm betting he wasn't impressed either...
I think he had a hum from microphones in his monitors that was a nuisance to him.
