- Although the audio isn't great, this is one of the few watchable copies on CZcams. Max always excels at entertaining both the magic community and the general public. This tv special introduced Max Maven to the public.

love that max doesn't take himself too seriousily!! he can go from spooky and straightfaced to saying some pretty funny jokes without cracking a smile!!
I love how cheesy it is, and yet when I was young, this was absolutely the best!

What???? Just stumbled upon this video, brings tears to my eyes. He had such a great influence on me in boyhood, and 30 years later he remained one of the greats. So sad to hear this.
I only found out a few days ago. I bought bwave deluxe from penguin recently, which I kinda thought was a new-ish product that came out this year. Then I heard Craig Petty refer to him as "the late great Max Maven" and I was like hold up... did he say that accidentally? Or what? Like I didn't really believe it at first, but I googled him and was surprised to find out he's been gone since November.

I miss Max. He was alway such a wonderful performer and really nice guy. The Magic Castle really lost an incredible talent upon his passing.
This shows how great this Max Maven would become. wonderful performances. There is one effect where he uses a deck if cards and narrows it down to one pile. Does anyone know the name of this. 👍👏👍👏😊👍😊

Max maven is a brilliant mentalist however I find him to be corny and I know him personally and he is a know-it-all!
And now we will ALL miss him RIP.
One thing he didn't predict is that his stage persona would become the blueprint for the cheesy magician that movies and tv ridicule when they want to make fun of magic. Like Matt Lucas's "Look into my eyes" stage hypnotist in Little Britain.
