Bud Cort was NEVER ugly, Roguemaker. He was in an AWFUL automobile accident which completely changed the bone structure of his face. He had numerous painful operations and has never been pleased with the results. What remains of the sweet face of his earlier life are the beautiful blue eyes and his ability to express himself with that face. In addition, watch his hands. He uses them differently from the way any other actor uses hands.
Bud Cort, if you're reading this? Know that you are admired, even loved. Your work has lightened the load of some of us. Thank you for it.

If he ever does see your comment I wanna chime in and say his performance in Harold and Maude literally saved my live when I was 16. I caught it on the Ovation channel the evening after my first and only suicide attempt. Ruth Gordon's and his performance really did save me from myself. I don't think I'd be here still if that film had not been playing that night. It gave me what I needed for so much more that was just around the corner. He will always have a huge piece of my heart.

I saw him up close & in person in 1974 (see my previous post), and he was handsome & elegant and so gracious. I admire him so much, particularly in the wake of his tragic accident.
      He is a beautiful man.

Wonderful tribute! I met Bud Cort in1974; he & Ruth Gordon came to Minneapolis to pay tribute to the now defunct Westgate Theatre ( which ran ONLY "Harold & Maude" for several years) and to attend "Tea with Harold & Maude", an event held at Dayton's department store that I was lucky enough to attend, as well. I spoke to Bud afterwards, and he was so charming & sweet and was amused that I had noticed & commented on his shoes: black penny loafers with dimes in each slot instead of pennies!

Thank you!!! Great video and soundtrack. Here it is another Valentines Day (Bud and I are now 75), and I made a beautiful Valentine heart box as a tribute to Bud and Ruth with their kiss photo surrounded by gold Dresden birds. I had such a crush on both Harold and Maude and wished everyone could live the empowering love Colin Higgins created in that story. I have never forgotten any of those involved in the film, especially Hal Ashby. I live where H&M was filmed and visit film locations all the time and think of them. I also decided that from now on watching H&M will be my Valentines Day tradition. Wish I could show Bud the sparkly heart box I made. Since I have not owned a TV since the 80s and do not go to the movies often, I just discovered all Bud's other movies which I can now search out (thanks for the excerpts). PS Colin and Hal's film makes me wish I could be a Maude to somebody, and that I could find a Maude to hang out with! PS Shout out to Cat Stevens, Vivian Pickles, and the entire cast and crew. You made all my life richer.

The film would never have become the timeless clasic that it is without him. Thank you for this remarkable film treasure.

I've got nothing against Bud Cort, but he always creeped me out as an actor (especially in his earlier films before he grew up a little). He seemed very odd and cringe-worthy in most of his roles. I always thought he would have been perfect for Damien II: The Omen.
