It's a hard call to sack Arteta atm because he just got us back into CL for first time in 7 years ( not a trophy). Take Pep for example... joined City in 2016 and inherited a team full of Premiership champions 🏆.... they had already won it in 2012 and 2014. Pep still took until his 3rd season to win the league. Now take Arteta who in 2019 inherited a complete mess. Pep inherited a team that won league in 2012 and 2014... Arteta inherited a team that hadn't even been in top 4 for 3 years. It took Arteta 2 years ( 1 covid year) to get rid of most of the deadwood... which was impossible to do in one transfer window. This season he has finally had a competitive team and nearly won the league. Sacking him now just dosnt make any sense at all. If he dosnt win anything in next 2 seasons then the question needs to asked.... but again this is the first season he has had a competitive team... judge him in 2 years time. Thats how long Pep took to win the Prem. Klopp took even longer

I think Arsenal fans have a right to be angry. 8 points clear with 8 games to go in what is probably going to be their best chance for a long long time to win the league. It could have been forgivable if they lost it due to losses to the best teams. But drawing games against the likes of Southampton, Westham and Forest and even so far as being 2-0 up against Liverpool. Furthermore, majority of the end of the season they had no other distractions.
This team is only getting started. Look at the average age of the team. A few more big signings and we'll dominate for years.

I am puzzled why 95% of the Arsenal fan base seem to be in a hypnotised merchandise fuelled trance and cannot countenance any criticism. If you cannot consider any criticism, and continue to doublespeak about success/failure then this is more an example of weakness than strength. This makes me wonder whether this approach is more problematic than the demands other fans have for instant results.
As an Arsenal fan who has enjoyed this season, I can understand being critical of the team's drop-off this month, but it's often from angry people who reject the very idea that there's been anything good about this season and our future. Last night I saw the pitch invasion by man City fans at winning the league. They do this again and again abd again, and I have huge admiration for that. Thats pure love for their football club. Usually u only see scenes like that when a team avoids relegation. At the top teams, if they win a title, they remain seated cheer , clap and are buzzing because now their standards have been met and they can take the piss out of their mates . There is such an entitlement mentality with our fan base and it makes me cringe. Early on in the season when commentators were saying there's a real oneness between the fans and the team at the ground now , I shook my head in disagreement. I said No. There is no oneness . The fans have been toxic for years, they don't get behind the players when the shit hits the fan. The ONLY reason the vibe was better was because the team was winning. Thats it. The fans weren't behind the team, the team had to win the fans over and even then I said months and months ago : u watch when and if we slip up how quickly they turn . They've had no confidence in the team, what looked like humbleness over the course of the season wasn't. They just didn't want egg on their face . Too many glory supporters at our club. Bores me senseless. Im actually grateful that I chose to support thr club back in 1992 not knowing fuck all about the club with no expectations. When we finished 10th , I figured OK so we're like a mid table team ( weighing up the reality of competition with the other teams) and so for me it was beautiful seeing how the club grew and grew from that year on. Your telling me a huge chunk of these fans were like that egen they chose to support the club? Course not. Fact of the matter. Injuries, lack of depth to the squad cost us. Hopefully we will strengthen the squad, Arteta will learn and keep improving as anyone involved professionally will tell you he is going to be top class. Its his first ever club ffs. We have come 2nd and now can spend more and strengthen. When we lost Saliba we lost the league cos we simply didnt have any other top class players to replace him and we were running our squad into the ground. Hardly rocket science to get your heads round
