  • @alessandromartorana4459

    Thank you for your diligent work on comparing the best halogen bulbs to use on our cars. I bought my new car for 8 months, a megane 4 sedan TCE 1.3 EDC - 140 hp, unfortunately the available version did not have "pure led" lights, yesterday I bought and installed the White Vision 3700k in the lenticular headlights and in the parabolas I instead installed the 130% laser Night Breaker (which I already had at home for my old car).
    I haven't been able to do any tests at night yet, I hope not to be disappointed, but last night towards dusk, I had a good impression that I imagine it will improve even more with the dark and the winter weather.
    I was tempted to use Osram's H7 ledriving, but here in Italy (as in all of Europe) they are still not approved and I don't want to run the risk of fines, booklet withdrawal and loss of insurance.
    Thanks again for your constant assistance.

    First of all, thanks for taking the time to record and test all these different bulbs, these reviews are really helpful, much appreciated!
    I have a reflector housing, and have bought the Osram Night Breaker LASER H7 a couple of years ago after watching one of your videos, they have served me well, and were definitely a very noticeable upgrade over the OEM ones.
    I was thinking of replacing them soon, and was thinking of going with Philips this time, I know you usually recommend WhiteVision, but they're unavailable in my country, so between the RacingVision, and X-tremeVision, which one do you think is better in terms of brightness and color temp?
    I think the RV is supposed to be slightly brighter and colder than XV, but has half the lifespan, also are they better than Osram NBL?

    • @m3rovingian
      @m3rovingian  Před 3 lety

      Thank you for the appreciation.
      The fact Osram NBL lasted you a couple of years it's a miracle or something very hard to believe :)
      Anyway Philips is superior to Osram in all aspects. RacingVision will last about as long as NBL, meaning 6 months. The light is very powerful but still warmer than WhiteVision which you say you can't find.
      the XV+130% is too warm for my taste, but at least they last 1 year.

    • @intact7592
      @intact7592 Před 3 lety

      @@m3rovingian I was extremely surprised the NBL lasted this long as well, I bought and installed them in June 2018 to be exact, expecting that I have to replace them at the end of the year. I drove 25k km since I installed them.
      They're still working at the moment, however, this past week I noticed that they're not illuminating the road far ahead as they used to, the beam range has reduced significantly. My car has a separate LED DRL lights, which I think is one of the reasons the NBL lasted this long.
      Anyway thanks for your quick reply, I really enjoy driving at night, but can't stand the warmer bulbs, so I'll go with the RV then.

    My choice goes to white vision without a doubt. I put them on my 2012 megane which is equipped with DRL. Have no doubt, Drl increases lifespan of your bulbs at least 3x, especially if you live in country which requires driver to have lights on at all times
    Bulbs were fitted in the spring of 2018. I work night shifts so I use lights a lot.
    Lights are great in rain and in foggy conditions.

As long as you don't touch the glass of the bulb when you install them, all will be good and they should last more than 1 year.

    The X-treme Vision plus 130% and the Racing Vision by far have the better output of light on the road. When you go above 4200K in the halogen bulb the light output is reduced. The lights coming from the car may look nicer due to cooler temperature, but the actual output on the road is not so great. Believe me, I spent a huge amount of money trying different alternatives including LED as well. If you have a reflector housing on your headlamp stick to the halogen bulbs. For a projector housing you can try LED's or HID's conversion kits. Apparently there is an HID conversion kit for the reflector housing that has a coating to reduce the amount of light coming from the reflector lamp so you will not dazzle other drivers, but I have not tried it yet, as I need to do few adaptations to my headlamp in a AUDI A6 C7.

      @@slayerLoLmusic For a LED kit they actually are not that good. Also that cut-off line is there only if you have projectors. in reflectors, like my headlamps, the light is thrown everywhere. Also when the Police gives you a fine and ticket for having them illegal they automatically start to be way more expensive with all the costs involved than the halogens. Also they will decrease over time in intensity, as all bulbs do, even the LED. So don't expect to use them 10 years. But on the paper it looks good. In reality it's a different story. I always recommend to stay legit.

    Hello! I find out Philips WhiteVision H1 as a main light, not Ultra as you advice, but i see in desription that they are 4300К, or is it marking only for marketing? Can i take them?
    And advice please philips lamps as a daylight, from white series to have the same bright with main light.
    And the last, advice please a fog lights, probably maybe better to take philips longlife ecovision for long time work? Because i need to remove the bumper for each change and it's not necessary to buy white for fog lights. Thanks.

      @m3rovingian  Před 2 lety

      If they are 4300K they are the older batch. They should be ok, because the bulb is exactly the same as in the newer 3700K one. If you want to replace all those fittings it'll cost you a small fortune. I'd go for Philips WhiteVision everywhere, if you can find them. What fittings you have on the daytime running ones and on the fog lamps?

    • @alexanderkolot8666
      @alexanderkolot8666 Před 2 lety

      For a fog lamps it is H11 and a day light is W5W. So I decided to take for daylights : Philips WhiteVision W5W 5W 12V 3300K
      For a fog lights: Philips LongLife EcoVision
      And for main lights: Philips WhiteVision

      @@alexanderkolot8666 If you can a better alternative for W5W would be the Philips X-treme Ultinon 4000K LEDs. They consume opnly 1W and will be 5 times brighter.
      FOr H11 Try to get at least X-tremeVision Pro150 or WhiteVision if you can find them. Both will be better and I'm sure the price diference will not be that great. The LongLife EcoVision will be weak. They will do the job but the price difference is worth the upgrade to at least XV Pro150.

      @m3rovingian  Před 4 lety

      @@danielbrown5888 As I told you WHiteVision are my favorite, even over RacingVision, because they last up to 2 years and offer a better visibility due to the colder light. they don't go above the peak of kelvin color where the light starts to decrease in brightness. RacingVision are a lot better than standard bulbs, but they burn really fast and they don't give the same visibility feeling, especially on low beams, as WhiteVision do. But feel free to buy whichever you want.
