- Right now most of us are suffering through the effects of a global pandemic, one way or another. And perhaps one of the best ways to deal with such collective pain is to listen to those who have already overcome serious trauma in their own lives. Fran Drescher has survived both a vicious sexual assault and uterine cancer, and has managed to find ways to turn those experiences into something positive.
On this episode of Impact Theory with Tom Bilyeu, Fran Drescher talks openly about the mistakes she made when first trying to heal, then describes what actually worked. She also details the efforts she makes to trust and take control of her body, discusses what it really means to live in the present moment, and even shares some simple actions anyone can take that kill viruses.

This interview spoke all the words I have never been able to say. It is my story very much. I had a traumatic childhood, was raped in my home and became pregnant and raised twins from that experience, as well as surviving brain cancer. I did not have proper support and as a result, spent decades of my life not knowing or understanding myself or how I was allowing the trauma completely to rule my life. I have been homeless many times because I run when things become too much. Thank you, Tom, for this interview and thank you, Fran, for your wisdom.
Hey Lisa, I'm sorry you had to go through so much. Running from pain is just a normal human response, and I don't think people recognise how heightened, overwhelming and painful emotions can feel after a traumatic experience. I hope you are able to develop the strength to face those emotions, heal and find the support you need and deserve.
Sending u healing Lisa
You are loved. You are valid. You are valuable. Believe in the good things coming and they will! Big HUG from an internet-stranger to another! 💚💚💚
I'm so proud of ur strength and courage. You're so amazing and loved. Seek any support u need. U deserve it! X

What an incredible woman, I really can't believe how on point every bit of wisdom she gives is. This is what "woke" is supposed to look like. So genuine, so much integrity, so much wisdom. And to top it off she is absolutely beautiful, just as stunning as she was in her Nanny days.
She's quite lovely and attractive but she's a senior now. She cannot equal what she looked like in the 1990's.
Still getting Life Lessons from The Nanny in 2020.. This interview is a JEWEL👏👏👏👏 Thank you Tom & Fran for the dope content✊✊✊
This is such a great interview. Very respectful, you let the people speak. When I first heard about the rape, i was totally shocked and asked myself how she moved on from it. She is such a positive personality. Thank you for this. I wish her all the best for her future
"Im gonna take a sip of tea" Tell me why I laughed way to hard at that. Fran doesnt have to even try, she has so much comedic talent it just seeps out into eveything.
I love Fran. She is such a beautiful amazing kind and deep lady. What a great interview 🤍🤍🤍🤍
She is so genuine and honest.. Thank you Tom!!
I think what Fran has been through and how she walked out of it are really something we can all look up to. She definitely is a gem. I agree with her notion saying that we need to sit through pain, not fight it, not denying it. Thanks for this interview Tom and Fran.
"One random wednesday afternoon life is going to bite you on the ass", Fran, you are amazing!
What a wonderful woman, great to see who she really is, outside of comedy and that she is making a contribution to others going through trauma as well....bless her!!
❤❤❤
I'm a cancer survivor, refused chemo and radiation. I agree wholeheartedly with her regarding detoxification, bad toothpaste, cleaning products etc. Listen to her!!!
How did you survive cancer without chemo??
*i suffered trauma a few weeks ago where someone tried to take my life, really needed this, im humble to have this channel.* 💕
4:35 - "Why is the universe presenting this to me now?" That's a powerful question. Great language in that question too. It's impressive how there's nothing judgmental about that question.
is funny that the same time she said that i was reading your comment . haha now im asking this question why the universe want me to listen to this question and read it at the same time XD.
@@xofreestyles9286 That's awesome!
The universe is always trying to teach us something. We have to listen closely and seek to find the answers within the problem!
As I scrolled, your comment was the one right before she said the quote in the interview. Cool!
I cant believe you got her on your channel, wow!
Love u, Fran!
What a truly beautiful human being ❤️

I have been binge watching the nanny and happily divorced and came upon this looking for indebted and I am SO grateful I found this. It's been 11 years since the home invasion and SA but to this day I still jump, I still get scared, I have nightmares of locking all my doors only for the doors to be wide open when I turn around.... not actually dealing with trauma isn't a choice sometimes... we're taught to move on to be strong... its wonderful to hear another survivor talk about the actual steps and tools towards actually healing. Good bless you fran, 🙏 the world is blessed to have you
How wonderful to see an actress we love so much talking openly and profoundly . Loved it 🙏🏻💖
Thank you Fran. Your interview came at exactly the right time in my life.
WHAT AN ICON. THANK YOU!
This made my whole morning. I'm so grateful for this show and processing trauma. 🙏 I am in two big life changes and I needed and appreciate the perspective. Huge fans of both of you
she's so amazing, clever, sweet and smart, i love her
Tom & Fran, Most beautiful, inspiring & uplifting interview. Really appreciate the reminder about grounding; standing barefoot on the ground in backyard (haven't done this in years) & soaking up some sunlight) (Carl Lanore). 😊🙏😊
Your interview and her smile make my day in this tough time. I’m so grateful for that.
So thankful to see Fran here ! Thank you Tom !❤🥰
She's so lovely.
She's 62 going on 63? Damn, I'd date her as a young man in my 20s.
She is still HOT!
I love her! She’s my hero. I wish I could meet her in person. God bless you, Fran! You’re beautiful inside and out.
Tom, you are really a soldier. Thanks for this.
Thanks for having Fran on I always enjoyed her very much
It's nice to be able to see your guests face as you deliver your awesome introduction :)
she is so wise and articulate. beautiful interview. thanks Fran
Fran you are such a valiant person for sharing authentically your learning experience in what most people even the ones that are the closest to us will never share for fear of wrongly being criticised or judge...you are a well rounded truly a loving person and for all of the love in everything you share I Thank you With all My Heart!
Thank you, thank you, thank you, for sharing these discussions 🙏
Omg Fraaaaan! You marked my life. I literally learned english with the nanny😂
I love you so much!
If you are not your first in your thoughts, you are owned by others opinions.
she's a wonderful spirit
Tom is by far the BEST interviewer God has ever created ... He NEVER interrupts , listens , but TRULY listens , and knows exactly when to ask his next question ... It’s been such a pleasure to watch Impact Theory and I have learnt a lot from the episodes .. Too bad I don’t live in LA , in fact , I live far away from LA , about 6000 miles away , but if I did , I would do anything and everything to have a chance to volunteer and work for free for him .. Thanks buddy for all the episodes and being such a great inspiration ..! 🙏🙏🙏
She is a beautiful soul, expressing herself so well ... Love you Fran ❤️
I believe this is the most crucial rule in life. I don’t think I’d be able to pass high school and get into top business school while running a CZcams channel if I haven’t prioritized well...at the end of the day You are the one you’ll spend the most time with in your life

Absolutely superb wisdom by Ms. Drescher! Thank you
Tom, I’ve been a huge fan of your work and so ever thankful for the guests you have introduced me to. I am indebted to you for helping me. It is my mission to pass that humanity on to others. That being said, I was not expecting to be moved as much as I was from this episode. Fran, thank you for sharing your experience and wisdom.
Thanks for keeping the videos coming!! Been out of the routine and getting back in.
Good interview for this time with the anxiety that people have been feeling these days with watching News and etc. Huge thanks!
Thank you Fran, i shall be following your page and resources. It is greatly appreciated your sharing your experiences xxx
she looks and is georgeous!!
@self help Well, seeing her age, she is. Look at her back in "the nanny", and don't lie to yourself.
@self help Need glasses? No, wait. You need self help.
@@Cyber_Kriss You are absolutely right.. she is a looker..
@self help , Why such a mean comment?
She’s beautiful. From the inside out. I’ve got such a crush on her😊
Thank you for another great episode, Tom. Fran has amazing answers. ...She looks amazing as well :) Many greetings from Prague!
Thank you Fran - True words of wisdom
What an amazing interview 😍 soooo much wisdom here!!! Love it! ❤️ thanks, Tom & Fran!
She looks amazing for 62 😘
Thankyou for this interview. What she was talking about is exactly what I need to hear right now!
Thank you to both you! Wonderful questions and wonderful, honest answers. In so many subtle ways, we're conditioned from childhood to put others ahead of ourselves that it engrains itself into us. To be able to finally put yourself first is the biggest feat for some people (me) and is the most liberating feeling of all.
Fran you look amazing!! Tom you look great too!! Great video. Thanks
Mrs. Fran amazing human always be blessed !
Ur dedication to ur work in this time of crisis is incredible. This is a great episode indeed. Ur work reaches so many people tham u think .keep up the good work 🙏🙏
Brilliant! One of my favorite because I relate all to well with multiple traumas and the determination to grow to be my best self despite limitations and the tough but beautiful journey that is mine.
Thank you Impact Theory for this session! Love it!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Omg!! She’s so so gorgeous! As well as so professional gracious personable & talented.🙏🏻✨🙏🏻✨🙏🏻✨🌷🌷🌷❤️
Phenomenal interview! Very much needed. What a beautiful, wise, knowledgeable soul she is ❤ thank you!🙏
Tom was so prepared and "study" very well the interviewer . took every chance on the Fran's sayings. He was to the point to make the outcome he wanted for his audience on every topic. very good job. exactly what we wanted to hear from a person (fran) with so many different trauma situations. the reason I just subscribed.
I noticed the health problems people get relate to their traumas as well and I am glad she mentioned it, such great wisdom throughout the interview.
I notice that these parts of the body also relate to the chakras...which people say aligns with the endocrine system.
Thank you so much Tom, I really love your work , you’re so amazing !! And Fran you’re so adorable ,, you’re a great example , Believe in yourself is so important !! God bless you 🙏❤️!! Stay safe
A great interview with a beautiful human. Thankyou. x
Love Indebted, adorable and uplifting show. Love this episode so much.
I just came across this channel for the first time, when I read Frans name, I decided to watch it, thinking it was a few minutes and will be a funny clip. I did not know about Frans real life, with her smile one assumes is all good.
This interview has been very good, as the questions and her answers were so spontaneous and profound.
With all her traumas and growing pains, her selfbeing cultivating and growth, is simply wonderful. I was a fan during the Nanny sitcom years, that show itself was a therapy; However the serious and real life issues, that she shared are very inspiring and admirable, just to see her smile, makes one feel better and appreciate the beauty and kindness this woman iradiates, and helpus realize the human kindness.
Thank you for this interview, really helpfull at this changing life style times we are facing. Blessings.
Omg! I just finished watching Happily Divorced today. I grew up watching The Nanny! I absolutely love and adore this woman ❤️.
My mom loved the Nanny growing up and always had it on in the background. She dropped a lot of gems in this one. Great to learn from someone with her experience. I can relate to the mental parts of her trauma all too well. I wish I knew some of that stuff back then. Live and learn. Boosh!

Brilliant and wise woman!! Thank you for this amazing interview!
Great interview,Fran is a treasure !xoxo
She ages so gracefully
I love this!!!! I never saw this collab coming! And I’m rewatching the Nanny right now 🤣
Awesome interview I absolutely love Fran Thank you 🙏💞
Buhjew! Lol I love her. In a serious note, her words a very affirming. Much of what I needed to hear. Thankyou for sharing this.
She is amazing. I wish she was my Auntie when I was growing up
What a BEAUTIFUL person Fran is, what a BEAUTIFUL smile 😃 Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us 💖💜🥰🌟🙏
thank you for this wonderful interview
Fran just keeps getting better and better. UHF is a riot.
OMG. We are 2 peas in a pod. I have exactly the same values and beliefs and been on the same journey of life. I am connecting to the positive energy sources, the Universe is directing and leading me. Thanks be to the Universe. Appreciate yr words. This is what I live by too; to get through my past life's ..... I have through on the other side now! Thanks be to the Miraculous Universe!!
I simply love Fran Drescher! She is so intelligent, beautiful (62,please. 45 tops),well spoken, a warrior, she created The Nanny... seriously, I admire her so damn much.
Thank you for sharing such a sensitive and personal part of yourself MsDrescher! -- Going back to you Tom... you made a specific comment, callingout Fran's astute link between her trauma and her development of Uterine Cancer as "Weird." And then you glossed over her response. By dismissing her followup with "interesting" and then launching into your monologue about using psychedelics you are negating the point of Fran's whole answer to your question. She was giving you the GOLD... the very nugget of her answer to your original question was about “How She Overcame/Dealt/Survived” the trauma she went through. The GOLD Fran was getting to is the mind-body connection to how WE CREATE our own issues/dis-eases… The QUEEN of understanding this truth is Louise L Hay… look at her book “You Can Heal Your Life” - Page 185… Cancer comes from “Deep Hurt. Longstanding resentment. Deep secret or grief eating away at the self. Carrying hatreds. A mindset of “What’s the Use?”
Your real followup questions should have been about -- “How did you get to your understanding of the mind-body connection” Then she would have shared her path that could have been really helpful for other people.
I’m so surprised to see Fran on impact theory! This is such a treat! Great interview and insights!
This woman is phenomenal.
This is beautiful. She is beautiful. She made my childhood and growing up even better with The Nanny :) Now I see her as a really powerful, wise women who loves people but she is still learning to love herself. She put everybody else at first place, and then, maybe then herself. Again, I love her! And, Tom thank you for all your guests and your content. A lot of kisses from Croatia :*
gotta love the internet...in 2 hours i went from accidentally seeing her on 1995 Letterman show, to a more mature and in depth interview with her ex husband in 2017, to intentionally watching this profound session. So amazing and can relate to when I am totally out of sorts ....lost in my mind's past trauma and regrets or letting future tripping "rob" me of the present moment. Today i was playing the drums and accidentally hit the painted wall with my stick and just looked over at the wall to make sure it wasn't scratched and noticed some mundane detail of the paint texture and it sucked me right into the present moment so it's funny to me she used the example of her ceiling corner...Love this video and love her .....incredible strength and knowledge and experience. Pain into purpose, so good. i'm turning a negative into a positive these days and it's proving to be not only healing but uplifting.
I used to love her so much in The Nanny! I really had no idea she is so brilliant in real life!
I LOVE HER she is amazing
So many truth bombs and wisdom nuggets!
No puede ser más bella en todos los aspectos. Muchas gracias por esta entrevista !!!
This interview speaks to me on such a freaky level. ♥️
Tom your lovely wife Lisa is amazing, just watched a show of hers and I feel you both have great shows to offer all of us.... Of course I have mostly watched yours but, Im a new full on of Lisa's!
Thank-you so much!
An insightful, uplifting interview!
I love this wonderful lady so unconditionally...
Wow, I didn’t know that happened to her. She is such or seems to be a very nice and put together lady. I alway wondered why she hasn’t been given another role on TV (dramatic). I am so sorry she had to go through that.
Awesome to see her on here! xD
This was excellent🌟
Thank you so much for this. Appreciate every minute of this interview. I needed to hear exacly thesewords. What a beautiful soul Fran is, so do you Tom. We need to spread positivity.
Thank you so much
Drank my ass off since September 15th, 2001 - the day of my dad's suicide. As of today I haven't drank since March 24th, 2019. Then I switched to pot and now I'm abusing that and to those that do not believe weed is NOT addictive?? Hmmm....let's agree to disagree. Much like this video what I'm realizing is I'm running from something and going nowhere. She's 100% correct that you must face the pain. Embrace the pain. Process the pain. Maybe in some sick way, LOVE the pain that is inside of you.
I have never made a comment before but just wanted to wish you the best. I really relate to your comment about
Running from something and going nowhere. You give me hope
O man .... Fran Drescher should make a buddhist lifestyle sitcom, it would be so funny (her so being in the moment in front of the traffic light that she misses the the green light)... and regardless her being present or not - inside or outside: she is such a sweet beauty
