Re the rapid reduction in inflammation, it is suspicious for being driven by the independent effects of calorie reduction in a population who at baseline were in calorie overload, particularly refined carb, saturated fat (and sodium as a micronutrient of excess) reduction. The weight loss adds additional inflammation down the road. The reason I believe this is that we see similar results when patients start an intensive medical formula meal replacements as well.
