The tree on the 89ers logo is the 'Survivor Tree', a tree that survived the 1995 Bombing. The 89ers name is a callback to the Land Run of 1889 in which Oklahoma City and many surrounding cities were settled, and another callback to the old name of the AAA team that plays in OKC.
1. Athletics won't be changing their name no matter where they end up. It's too storied of a team name at this point. 2. Pirates would have been a great fit for New Orleans. Never heard of Jean Lafitte???
The Washington Grays would have been named after the Negro League team, the Homestead Grays. The Grays name is currently being used by a Cal Ripken Collegiate League team.
The DC Grays who play in the Cal Ripken, Sr. Wooden Bat summer Colligatiate League , their home games are in PG County. When the Expos moved to DC, they were originally going be the Washington Senators, but the DC City Council balked, then Mayor Williams suggested Grays, in the end MLB went with Nationals which was what the original team was called before becoming the Senators in the early 50s,
2:14 .... hold up! The Pirates theme DOESN'T FIT New Orleans? Um, doing a little homework before recording this would have helped, because the Pirates nickname fits MUCH better in New Orleans than in Pittsburgh. Just look up the name Jean Lafitte. Not to mention the New Orleans Buccaneers was their ABA team and the University of New Orleans are the Privateers.
I thought that Miami Gators logo was someone’s fan fiction of the Miami Gators 🐊 , who lost to the Chicago Cubs in 2015 World Series in ‘Back to the Future Part 2’. Cool logo though!
I wonder if the A’s are going to try and come back for expansion like the Coyotes are going to do in the NHL(if there is expansion, I don’t think there needs to be any more teams in the NHL) and if the A’s get an expansion team, I think one of Raleigh/Charlotte or even Nashville gets the other one
Tampa Bay Montreal Dragonflies, huh; even if the Rays nearly played half of their home games in both places. Washington Grays kind of hurts due to the Civil War The Marlins logo color currently is in the color pallet called "Miami Vice"
Browns didn't cease operations. They rebranded to the Orioles. The Browns were also formerly the Milwaukee Brewers. It's so crazy looking into where all the teams came from. Check out the Yankees for a fun one also with Baltimore ties.
I think they should use the jumping horse fury logo and the Fury name for the Utah NHL team formerly known as the Arizona Coyotes based on the plan MLB Virginia Fury ⚾ team name. On the logo the horse should be jumping out of the letter U with the state shape of Utah on it,as the back ground
How can New Orleans not support the name of the pirates? it’s a massive port that had pirates and the only reason it exists is to handle shipping. Strange that you came up with that conclusion.
Bowie Kuhn wanted to add 2 clubs to the NL in 1977 also but only the AL okayed teams. Also, a book with the Sox in Tampa and What would have happened has them moving back because Tampa did so poorly in attendance. Hidden Treasure, a girl's journey of faith and baseball in an alternate baseball universe I think that is the name. Miami gets the Expos in it.
The rays would still keep their name if they had split their season between Tampa bay & Montreal. The San Francisco giants almost moved to Tampa bay in 1992. The Marlins almost moved to San Antonio in 06. I’d love to see a Carolina mlb team however I think Nashville will beat them to it. It will be the Nashville stars which was a negro league team. I think Portland Oregon will get the west expansion team
And the Duke Blue Devils. I think the Devil Rays name was changed more because they could also use the term Rays to mean rays of sun, like in their secondary logos.
It's not that people "thought" the Indians logo was racist, it was racist. Now in relation to some of the other logos like the Redskins, those were tasteful, tho the name was was racist.
The Miami Gators where the team Cubs where playing in the World Series in the Movie Back to the Future 2
I could have sworn this was the plot for Major League.

No way they do the lizards it’s so similar to the dbacks
They're going to keep the as name
89ers was the name of the OKC AAA team when they were the Texas Rangers affiliate. Went to their games all the time when I was young
5:11 this color would look good for the Tijuana Green Sox Major League Baseball team
1. Athletics won't be changing their name no matter where they end up. It's too storied of a team name at this point.
2. Pirates would have been a great fit for New Orleans. Never heard of Jean Lafitte???
6:56 The gators are the NCAA college
The 89 ers is being used now with uniforms with discontinued use of Dodgers !
1:03 that name would look good for Jacksonville, Florida
New Orleans is smaller than almost any other city that currently has a MLB team. There’s no way they’re getting an MLB team
As a New Orleans Native it would be nice to get a MLB team but the market would probably be small. I would like a AAA team back
I don't think it will ever happen the AAA team ended up moving out of there
Cleveland should have been the Spiders since they were forced to rename.
Tampa Montreal team was supposed to be the X Rays
The color scheme for the Xrays would've been lit! 😂😂😂
@@RedPaganNetwork😂
Those team designs reminded me of doing create a team in early 2000s madden
The Philadelphia Kansas City Oakland Sacramento A’s of Las Vegas..
Who Finley was not allowed to move them to Louisville before Oakland They were supposed to be Kentucky A's

Cleveland should have went with the spiders for their new name

I think SLC is 100% either getting expansion or will poach a distressed MLB team
Miami Gators? Could be some issues with the University of Florida Gators.
He’s a liar ,
The concepts from the CC sportslogos boards have been discovered by someone.
The Giants came so close to moving to St Pete in the early 90’s. I gotta believe there are some branding ideas out there for them as well
Tampa Bay Montreal Dragonflies, huh; even if the Rays nearly played half of their home games in both places.
Washington Grays kind of hurts due to the Civil War
The Marlins logo color currently is in the color pallet called "Miami Vice"
Wasn’t there the San Diego Fleet who had that destroyer logo? I miss the White Sox red and white home and blue/red road plus the red cap.
Notice the pirates retro alternative logo of the pelicans!
Great video ...maybe now do one on defunct MLB teams. (browns, senators x 2, pilots, etc.)
Browns didn't cease operations. They rebranded to the Orioles. The Browns were also formerly the Milwaukee Brewers. It's so crazy looking into where all the teams came from. Check out the Yankees for a fun one also with Baltimore ties.

You should do a whole series of these for the NHL, NFL, and NBA (maybe MLS). Even a series of (fan-made) potential expansion teams for each league.
The A's have got to keep the name Athletics. That is an old name that predates the team playing in California.
Shoulda been the Las Vegas Lounge Lizards.... 😉🙃
5:55 That is Florida, yes.
That lizard logo looks like staring a gift horse in the face.
The Fury was Northern Virginia. Check out the Virginia Baseball Stadium Authority.
That ended when the team moved to DC instead.
How can New Orleans not support the name of the pirates? it’s a massive port that had pirates and the only reason it exists is to handle shipping. Strange that you came up with that conclusion.
Jean Lafitte is still legendary in New Orleans.
If New Orleans had a baseball team. It would be called the Zephyrs.
New Jersey came close to getting Les Expos.
You don’t think that PIRATES would fit…New Orleans?
Someone wanna get this guy a history book?
1:57 Pittsburgh has the Highground with the Pirates
I definitely think it would however I don't see new Orleans ever getting an MLB team
@@58twright The UFL should bring back the New Orleans Breakers at Caesars Superdome
@@GloriaGrothe I would love to see minor league football I would also love to see a Toronto nfl team
Seriously. Jean Lafitte is a legend in NOLA!
In Oklahoma City !

New Orleans would be the best possible city for a team named the Pirates
I'm a Pirates fan and I actually like those logos. I like the skull with the baseball bats as the cross bones.
Pirates would be a better fit for a team playing in the Gulf of Mexico than one in the mountains of Pittsburg. 😂
Two cities sharing the same team? What are they? The twins?
7:23 it’s over Tropicana Field, Montreal has the Highground with the Rays.
San Antonio has the missions baseball club in the minors
The Athletcs were originally linked to Atlanta before the Braves wonder what that logo would had looked like
1:57 The state of Louisiana need a Major League Baseball team in New Orleans

New Jersey Devils 😂
That is NHL material, not MLB.
And the Duke Blue Devils. I think the Devil Rays name was changed more because they could also use the term Rays to mean rays of sun, like in their secondary logos.
8:32 The United Football League should bring back the Orlando Guardians at Camping World Stadium
I get its baseball. But you know theres an NHL team literally named Devils right?
And don't forget the Duke Blue Devils. Isn't there also a Sun Devils team somewhere too?
Pretty sure vegas will rebrand the athletics, no way they keep the name
6:08 Yankees Stadium should’ve been relocated to East Rutherford, NJ to be recalled as the “New Jersey Yankees”
No views in 38 seconds? Bro fell off
Not funny
This joke is old man come on
@bingobongo8701 it's satire come on I'm sick of it too😉

Fake
Vegas is not going to support MLB. Salt Lake City a much better place for an expansion team.
