One person i managed to forget, and she was a female,( Like me) yep, an older woman... thought she would have loved me back but i was stupid i guess, should have known better. Why would a grown adult love a teenager? well... that was MY logical thinking. Teenagers have nothing to offer, they arent stable or anything, and we're a handful to take care of.. i couldnt have given her much of anything. I was hoping that taking a few mouthfulls of vodka would help me forget , and it did back then. I ended up in the hospital on IV drip that night, & literally my mind forgot about this for 20 plus years of my life, i also forgot about a few other memories..that have to do with and older adult male too. Anyways now.. 20 yrs later tho, it just poped back in my mind and idk what triggered it, but i remember it all now like it was yesterday. I wish it was different, becuase it was pretty cool hanging out with her, we talked allday and stuff, hell, i really dont honestly know what we talked about, me being 14 and her 30, i mean what kind of conversation could we have had lol, but we smoked cigs , just hung out at another older couples house and listened to 80's music on one of those vintage 70 tapedecks things that had a recod player on top. Back then in the 90's people werent on this health kick bandwagon stupid trend thing that we cant show smoking. Everyone smoked ciggerettes and we had asthrays everywhere lol

What I primarily get from this video is that "the one" is not just one person but a person you've built a trusting bond with. A lot of these points require two people knowing, trusting and respecting each other. I'm binge watching all the relationship videos...This is my first real relationship, and I don't want to mess it up.
We have all the green flags, and our relationship reflects all the points mentioned in this video.
We're just so young, and even though we've talked about the future when we grow up, there are days I can't imagine what will happen in between now and then.
EDIT: She ended up showing her true colors about three months into the relationship. She never saw me as who I was and apparently dated me out of pity. Said she was never in love with me and she only cared for me like a friend. Said she could never ever marry me because I wasn't born a man. Being a trans guy who thought she supported my identity? I relate to 9.5/10 of these signs (except 6 since I met him online), though #9 I have slight trouble with, cuz I don't wanna be seen as "asking for too much". I think I found the one. we went through some tough stuff in the beginning, we didnt even have a honeymoon phase because life got really difficult and responsibilities weighed too much and everything was super rocky at first and we both hurt each other really bad because our communication and trust wasn't 100%, but through it all, there was something there. we still did about 8/10 things listed in this video even though we were going through a hard time. we agreed to cultivate it and now, we are finally connecting better and everything feels right, we are on the same page and ever since then, life has been so much better. I'm sure we are doing all 10 things now and im eager about the future

this is EXACTLY how it’s been with my relationship. pretty rocky in the beginning because yes, life got in the way and we both had taken on some of the biggest responsibilities we’ve each had to take on. so emotions were getting the best of us, and our trust and communication weren’t great yet. we both came from VERY different backgrounds, yet we have that connection i’ve never felt before. and it’s so peaceful. arguments and disagreements are healthy!! and we’re communicating and being more open than ever now :) we’re continuing to get better and it’s nice bc i can see he’s really trying too. i believe in instant connections, and i also believe in two people coming together, and equally really wanting to work towards bettering themselves and eachother, yk? :) even if it does end up being somewhat rocky at first. working thru situations only made us closer and more understanding. best wishes to you and your partner!!

Me and My girlfriend have been together only 7 months now. I love her more than anything and sometimes just how much we both love one another can be scary because it feels like we are moving so fast but in reality we simply never felt like we had to put up the front that so many people do when they start a relationship. We have gotten a lot of judgement from others who told us that we are too young to know what we are talking about or to know that what we want together is best for us, but it has not once held us back from doing what we want to do. In my opinion there are two things that can also help you know if they are the one. One is that immediate comfort you get from someone. The feeling like you should be married already lol. Sometimes it isn't a great idea to rush too fast into things, but when you feel comfortable around someone and they do too you will start understanding each other deeply very fast. Another way to tell has to do with the first point in the video. No matter how much resistance we get towards what we want to do and how, not once have we ever felt the need to give in to those judgments from others. Sometimes it feels like it is us against the world and how I know she is the one is because that doesn't scare me at all. She is an infinite source of strength and wisdom and support and when someone is right for you I promise you will recognize this early on.

I watched this a year ago when I was in a really frustrating place with my dating life. I wanted to see potentially “what are signs to look for?” And it just made me depressed because I hadn’t met any girl in my life who marked off even 2 of these “signs” despite me having plenty of flings/relationships. At the beginning of Summer earlier this year I connected with an absolutely lovely girl. She stayed with me all summer loving me and helping me get my life more together before she had to go back to school in Latin-America. We’ve been long distance for a few months now and the flame is still very much alive despite us not being with each other near as often as we’d like. I checked back on this video, to see how my perspective had changed. This time around, I checked off 9/10 of the things listed. So based off that- 90% chance she’s my wife. I love her so much. Don’t want to get ahead of myself in the relationship and move too fast, but it’s strange. Knowing we’re potentially headed that way, makes me more relaxed into our relationship despite distance. She is the absolute best girl in the world to me. Beautiful. Lovely. Intelligent. Im grateful for her everyday, I don’t want to be with anyone else. I’ll reject a thousand super models just to be with her. I love her so damn much. Trust her with my life. She wants nothing but good for me and even on her bad days she is a ray of sunshine in my eyes. Few people are so loving as she is to me, and she makes concerted efforts to help and understand me. She respects my views and doesn’t demean me when we disagree, and I give her the same treatment. I want to be her husband someday. She is my “one”, and I wouldn’t want to do life with anyone else. I got lucky, God blessed me with her. She gives me so much strength. Just grateful.

The actual definition of aro/ace is a person that feels little to no sexual and romantic attraction, so your all g. We always cross paths, we understand each other in a very deep level, and always challenge each other to be happier more succesful. And in a weird way on how I describe that I may have found the one was that whenever I see them or spend time with them there's this gentle peace and energizing energy.

I feel the reciprocal love and care, I feel seen, heard, valued, free to be myself, no need to hide anything; there are endless laughs and constant feel-good moments. It’s the most genuine, transparent and beautiful feeling I’ve ever regained, I say this because I do remember how beautiful it felt when we were young, we just felt the instant connection and I feel like we were cut from the same cloth. This is my soulmate without a doubt.

As a romantic I used to believe this and I used to do this. I gave more than could be returned and in the end when I needed something, it wasn't there. Support goes both ways. It's a childish fantasy to think one can invest into someone like this without any sort of return. Yes, you do a lot for them in good faith, but if it's only in good faith then as a solid foundation you are setting the relationship up for failure. Love may not have conditions but relationships do. Some of the obvious are cheating, lying, betrayal, etc, but these are not the only things you can refuse to continue loving unconditionally for. You may not stop feeling love for them, but to be unconditional is an unreasonable task to commit to.
That way you will only end up used and abused.
If the person gives you nothing back, it's obviously not the right one. Both partners should show the same effort.
My current boyfriend could be the one but I’m so emotionally exhausted and damaged from my past it feels like it’s not meant to happen for me. He stands by me though and I stand by him even when he does something silly like crashing his car with us in it on our way to a date.
