BBH Eye to Eye in the Secret Room 0xA 2h Strat

- I collect the star Eye to Eye in the Secret Room in BBH using 0 A presses in 2 hours. Thanks to Thadortin ( / @thadortin6976 ) for their idea that made this possible.
Originally, this star was completed in 14 hours ( • BBH Eye to Eye in the ... ). Later, I showed a blueprint for a 9 hour strat ( • BBH Eye to Eye in the ... ). Shortly after, I optimized the blueprint to be a 4 hour strat ( • BBH Eye to Eye in the ... ). Later, I TASed that blueprint to confirm it, and it resulted in a 3 hour time ( • BBH Eye to Eye in the ... ). But recently, Thadortin found a way to reduce the time even further. You see, the final part of the scuttlebug manipulation involves dropping the scuttlebugs into a PU version of the mansion, where they then snap down into the real mansion. During this drop, Mario has to oscillate in and out of the scuttlebugs' home range in order to make the scuttlebugs walk northeast, away from both Mario and their home, and towards the spot where they do the snap. The scuttlebugs walk pretty slowly during this movement, and the longer they take to do this movement, the higher we have to raise them beforehand so that they have enough time to do the movement during the fall. So if we could get the scuttlebugs to move faster, they wouldn't take as long to do the movement, and so we wouldn't have to raise them as high beforehand, and so the scuttlebug raising would end much sooner. Well, that's exactly what Thadortin showed. If we make the scuttlebugs start a lunge, then we move out of their home range so that they target their home, then we re-enter their home range, the scuttlebugs will turn towards their home with lunging speed. So the first part of the scuttlebug movement now uses lunging speed to go faster (seen at 1:49), and then after that the scuttlebugs just go normal speed. This optimization meant that we now only have to raise the scuttlebugs 1 PU up instead of 2 PUs up, and so it saves a whole hour, reducing the total time from 3 hours to 2 hours.

My nephew discovered PU's by accident when we were young actually, turns out Luigi is hidden in the BigBooMansion if you go (L)eft 4 PUs and (U)p 20 PUs.
We had screenshots ls to prove it, but sadly my uncle got mad because we were celebrating our groundbreaking discovery "too loudly", and he broke our N64 and the camera we made the screenshots with to shut us up :[

This is BEAUTIFUL. And it's such a simple concept! I do not believe we'll ever hit the holy grail of true "zero A-press 120 star," but the final encoding will be breathtaking.
I'm still waiting for an encoding of all 120 stars, even if it'll take multiple days to watch. It'd be something to have playing on the TV in the background while I'm working.

If it saves A presses it's better even if it takes longer. If it saves time it's better as long as it doesn't take more A presses. I think that's how they value things in the A button challenge context.
I don't know what the abc crew are thinking, but in their position I would figure that any exploration of time saving strats may yield discoveries of a press saving strats.
When I think of "raising scuttlebugs", I just think of baking bread as an analogy that makes probably no sense except for the fact that it doesn't take as long as raising children. When yeast does its thing, y'know?

Theres like 13 or 14 A presses on a full run, its going to be very hard to eliminate all of them specially considering all of the .5 A presses on the run (which means A had to be pressed eventually).
