Thanks for having me! I was a blast.
Glad to see Ryan finally made it to rockstar status.
…..drippin’ in that clout.
"So that’s my main dirt for church." 😂
Don is on fire 🔥 in this interview!!!!!
hearing Ryan play something other than the usual test riff is pretty nice
Didn't know I liked surf music so much. Awesome sounds. My favorite was the Carcosa. Thanks!
Ryan is compulsive viewing. Stand up, guitar, food, hot sauce what more do u want. Keep on being quirky Ryan. Respect.
Ryan: makes hm-2 sound amazing
People: buy more HM-2s
People: realize they don’t know what do do with Hm-2
Ryan: buys HM-2 and the grift continues
Hi, Ryan. I love you in those SimpliSafe commercials. You're a delight.
Don Carr is a wonderful listener.
Couple of certified legends in this video, for sure
Ryan's is one of my favorite channels on CZcams. Good dude, great reviews and demos
Great to see Ryan getting this kind of recognition.
Yes! Don and Ryan! Two of my favorites. Ryan, we talked a lot on a PBOD thread about 250s and was wondering if you'd hqve one so it was cool to see it repped. Pretty versatile and wide range for such a simple board too.
I’m a DD5 guy. Reverse setting, and tap tempo makes it one of my favourite pedals. Sorry Josh and Ryan DD5 is king.
Yes
Ryan must have told em....Have your people call my people and we'll do it !!!! LMAO.... Congrads on walking out onto the SWEETWATER STAGE man !!!!!....Thanks for explaining your personal pedal board as well....good stuff !!!! Stay Safe everyone and ROCK ON guitar players !!!!
Great show guys . Thank you Sweet Water
Besides the whole tube amp/modelling discussion which I'm not getting into (to each their own), there was one vital pedal missing...
The CÚVAVE Fuzz pedal, he made it famous, they're selling like hot cakes, I own one, and it's fantastic!
Lol, I like to swap fuzzes every time I play, the cuvave makes in on my main board fairly often though. It has a full mid quality that really works in a band setting.
Except the Cuvave that Ryan has is different than the current production. New pedals need to be modded to get the sound of the older ones.
I love that Ryan's pedalboard is not the typical church board. I'm the same way although I do have 2 Strymons :)
Entertaining and informative 😎
😂Dirt for Church ! needs to be on a t shirt.
long live ryan burke
I have listened to Don Carr demo the stereo pulsar 100 times!!!!
In headphones !!!🤪
The reason I bought mine!
The Wampler Belle is just a fantastic killer overdrive mini pedal!!!Love it!!!!
Is that the one they skipped?
@@DavidMorales008 Yes.
@@chrishepburn1503 thank you, it's always frustrating when a pedal is skipped over, after your comment I looked up Wampler's video on it and I'm definitely going to try one out
@@DavidMorales008 No problem!. Happy to help. I was annoyed that they skipped it as well. It's a great sounding pedal. Wampler make great stuff.
@@chrishepburn1503 Yes,sadly they skipped but please anyone should take a look to the Wampler Belle because is just an awesome little gem 💎 super versatile and with a fantastic sound plus a side switch button who make it even more special!!!Killer pedal by Wampler!!!
That's awesome! I actually enjoy watching Ryan more than I would a super famous guitar player. We can all relate to him and it was fun to watch. We would love to see more videos like this!
So cool to see a fellow gear dude on sweetwater!! Nice!
Oh man, the wah make the swell sounds fantastic👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hi Ryan. I love your channel watch it all the time
Thanks!
Ryan: the nicest dude on CZcams. 👍🙏🧊🚀
Excellent. Encourage viewers to buy the Carcosa and HM 2, so the prices of pedals I'd want can finally come down.
😆
great video
I use the Powergrip type velcro and my pedals will not fall off. I can lift my whole board by one pedal. Cool stuff. 😄👍
I would like to know, understand more about the volume pedal after the dirt boxes and before the delays ect.
4:14 Sonic Research makes a mini strobe tuner. st-300 mini. I love it; it’s my main! 👌
interesting that he runs verb into delay. sounds killer!
If you are a say a collective pedal board fan for your music is it ok for saying reference on pedal boards
Lovely
Small Peterson tuner ! YES !
I think Wampler pedal is really special.
The Carcosa fuzz is so beasty. It sounds grimy.
Sous vide maple! OMG I was laughing so hard.
Ryan is the best
20:35 guitar playing is the Ryan we all know and love
Totally get why delay pedals are needed or octave whammy stuff or compressors but there’s something bizarre about guitar culture nowadays where people buy amps that are too loud, then buy attenuators in order to play them quieter then buy over drive pedals to simulate how they would sound loud, then amp in a box pedals to make them sound like some other more famous amp then reverb and tremolo pedals to make them sound like a blackface Fender. I do like pedals but the past few years things have gotten a bit ridiculous as I see it.
I agree man it's getting crazy but the market is there so it's not going away I'm into a small amp phase myself Less is more dealio
@@paulcowart3174 oh yeah the market is totally there. It’s easier to spend $100-$200 at a time on a shiny new pedal than the thousand plus that a classic valve Fender amp starts at. I just think it’s a bit funny. Nowadays most guitarists have pedalboards that look like the size of something The Edge would have! Then they play and it’s pretty basic blues based rock a lot of the time. It’s really the overdrive pedals that irk me. There’s so many of them. And then there’s $400 digital reverb pedals! My god Logic Pro is $200. An entire DAW up to industry standard with countless reverbs and every plug in needed to make an album. . I’m someone that has always loved effects pedals and soundscape type players but nowadays what I see feels more like gross capitalism. I’m currently spending months saving up for just one nice amp. After that I don’t want to worry about which new $200 Tubescreamer clone I need. Recording and performing music is already a costly enough endeavor for me!
@@dahliafiend buying an amp that's too loud and then attenuating it is actually a genius move. You get something that can be used in your bedroom and at a large venue
I'm obsessed with "broken" and "velcro" fuzz sounds.
oh man... its the sweel from Akira Yamaoka - room of angel ! the second i hear it i lost my mind !

I have a Boss Katana 50watt MKii so just a Boss TU-3.
Wait, did this get Peterson to make the mini?
Hmmm i went from watching whats on Phil Xs peddleboard to Ryan's. Lol. Hard to follow Phil X lol. But I'm still a big fan.
a delay pedal can end a friendship lol
Really wanted to hear the Belle. I wonder if that was the “technical issues” that they mentioned towards the end…
I know for a fact that don and I talked about how great the belle is for like half an hour but maybe that was before the camera was rolling? Or maybe it got lost to some technical issues we had with the board throughout the video (thank you editor). But yeah the belle is awesome and it’s been a mainstay on my board since I got it.
@@60CycleHumcast yeah I bought a Ratsbane on a whim while I was there and just now finally plugged it in. It properly kicked the OCD off my board. That thing rocks. I find it doesn’t really have a “low gain” setting though.
Why no mention of the Wampler Belle?
The Polytune Mini has a strobe mode. It’s what I use.
The Sonic Research ST-300 mini is another strobe tuner in a mini pedal format.
@@breakalime I kinda think the Sonic Research is at the top of the hill. Doesn't seem to get mentioned very often.
Love mine. 😎
I feel attacked when he said sous vide hah. It’s a superior way of cooking. Perhaps fender will have a sous vide caster… this is great!!!
why did he skip the Wampler Belle? my new all time favorite overdrive!!!
I think that footage for edited out due to technical issues I was having with the board. I do love that pedal and I’m sad i didn’t say anything about it in the video.
So the Wampler Belle is just a patch cable extension?
🤣
Lol, oh man, I’m not totally sure what happened but there were some technical hiccups during recording due to my whole board falling apart in shipping. I’m assuming that part was a casualty or I accidentally skipped over it because I was flustered. I’m a huge fan of the belle though, it does the right mid sweetening thing of a tube screamer without the fizzy blended thing I hate about tube screamers, and it stacks great.
@@60CycleHumcast Dissapointed, I hoped it was just Ryan`s solution to a short cable not reaching between two pedals.
@@60CycleHumcast it sounds like Editing Ryan was not involved. LOL Awesome board!
That carcosa is super nasty! Love it.
8:10 is the Prelude to the sermon on Armageddon. I dig it.
anyone have a link to this guitar? i cant find it anywhere on there website and i want to buy it asap. lol but for real😅
They were a limited run for Sweetwater, pretty sure they're done. I grabbed one. I've seen them pop up on Reverb in the tobacco or black burst, but not the Aqua. The finish on mine isn't *as* bright and dramatic as the one he has here but still really nice. I love it but I'm not sure it's for me, I might put it on Reverb but I'm still torn on it.
@@JAA802 Thanks. Nuts, I just found out about it yesterday. Oh well.
I’m gonna comment this on every video until it catches on. Ryan was the basis for Joe from Family guy or his illegitimate son who can walk.
SD stand up!
Dude Donn Carr seems cool as shit, want to get a beer with that dude one day lol
Why the skip on the wampler!!??
Worlds collide!!!
The problem with the pedals are by the time u finish 1 board it will become 4 board

"I play at church"
Boss Heavy Metal HM2: o.o
Ryan "Big Time" Burke
Should of had Don play! He Rocks!
I thought maybe they would talk about 60 second hum. Is 60 second hum the name of the show?
I mean 60 cycle hum.
oh hey it's b i g r y a n
Let me guess. At least 3 reverb pedals!! Ha!
Just one, but it’s the size of 3 reverbs lol.
The dudes Laugh 😆 hahahahahha.. is like copy paste every time, I tried to ignore it.
Carcosa pedal at a P&W setting. 🤣
Church. I know that's big business. I spent time in church, but I did my time and got out.
More is....more!
Some people, #60cyclehum
I HATE the Boss DD-series delays. Their digital delays are so sterile and just totally void of warmth. I'm sure they have their place, but just not om my board.
That's the best part of digital delay. Their shimmer modes sre gorgeous too
Without wanting to have any kinda religious discussion, being on the other side of the world, I totally don't get worship/church bands.
Overall. It's just something we don't do (as far as I'm aware), although there's likely some exceptions.
So many CZcamsr's seem to play or have played in a church setting. So, I don't get if they play rock originals, rock out to scriptures or what exactly happens.
I assume for churches it's a way of attracting younger people into their space and clearly pay musicians. So for musicians they get a regular source of income regardless of their beliefs.
Cheers. 😎🎸
US christians are weird, all kinds of catholic, protestant, mormon sects and other ridiculous schismatics and their churches are like that too. They look more like office buildings than churches and have these bands playing bland pop and rock music.
Even as an agnostic, I have tons of respect for traditional christian music, for choirs and organ compositions, but church bands are a joke.
Just my 2 cents but yes I do respect where you're coming from.
Music is described in the Christian texts alot especially in the book of Psalms... king David was a young shepherd boy and oftentimes used a harp or string instrument of that time to sing and compose songs to thank and give glory to God. Most of the famous musicians in such as Bach, even to the recent 60s rock and roll Era with Elvis have all have some sort of Christian experience to launch out of and make inspiring music.
Modern "worship" musicians are simply thanking God or praising or lamenting during worship as to pray with and to God. Hope this helps a bit.
Peace.
@@joshuapark1749 Thanks Joshua, yep that certainly helps some. As I say it's just not something we do out here, at least not common.
I totally get historically, especially classical music why that was so...mostly given to the fact that music was commissioned by the church, so the composer would write accordingly.
And I have no objection to music referencing God or artists beliefs. I either like the music or I don't. Albeit, those lyrics likely won't gel with me.
I find it really interesting the proliferation of church/praise/worship music in the States, by contrast out here, it's largely not a thing.
And in so far as worship goes in monotheistic religions (at least)...sure, they all sing/have choirs etc. So, I can see the historical context.
I find it an interesting topic and wonder why we don't have such a thing engrained in our culture, especially as the church and worship is largely on the decline, notably amongst younger people. Of course there's exceptions, but the stats back that up in a significant way.
Cheers. 🎶🎶🎶
I’ve never been payed to play in church, I do it because I enjoy it, but there are plenty of people making livings doing it in bigger churches or touring churches. The full rock band in church thing kind of grew out of California’s hippy/Jesus movement type churches in the 60s. It’s become pretty prevalent in US churches over my own lifetime.
@@60CycleHumcast Ya...it really seems to be a thing in the US & totally not a thing in Aussieland. 😆
So, was trying to get my head around it. Sure, I've known about it for ages. Guess I've never asked & didn't wanna offend anybody. Religion is always a touchy subject and guitar channels not the platform for it.
But seeing you mentioned it also (don't recall you saying previously), I thought now was as good a time as any to try and figure it out some!
Cheers Ryan. 🎸🎸🎸
ryan...you know, deep down whats happening...
GJB 4 LYFE 👣🖤
O.K. if no one else is going to, I will ."chefsplaining" alert ,Sous vide cooking locks in moisture .I'm sure we can all agree ,not good for wood ,and slow roasting makes things tender .Also not good for guitar necks .What you're gona want to do is something more like a smoked Maple maybe Mesquite, or some apple wood for some really" tasty" tone brahahaha.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha 😉
he didnt bring the affordaboard... sweetwater wouldnt have liked that
not impressed on how he took all that $$$ in gear and got that $ sound .
Not feeling it
They'll never do it because Sweetwater definitely wants to sell, but they should have Derek Trucks or the guys from the Allman Betts band or any of the players that don't use pedals on this is a very short video. "What's on your pedal board?"..."Nothing." End.
Yawn
Laughing about your own jokes is cringeworthy.
Amazed at Ryan's success, he can barely play guitar
Not so hot at noodling, but his surf band is very cool. You wouldn't know it was the same guy playing.
He’s certainly not the best player (as he readily admits), but his enthusiasm is great and he has personality. That, and his surf/spring reverb related stuff is top notch. That all combined makes for some great content in my books. The worship side of it isn’t my thing, but I dig that he mentions it so rarely that I often forget he’s also a P&W guy.
who cares . id rather listen to his stuff than the constant pentatonic butt rockers on youtube . sheesh , live a little ya gremlin
@Gupster 23 praise and worship.
@@KMoney1219
As per my post somewhere here, (and I've never heard Ryan mention it), I don't understand what it actually is? We don't have such a thing out here & it seems in the US it's super common, with lots of CZcamsr's (& no doubt many more), earning a basic living.
What music is played? Do older people like it.. I just can't even picture what happens. 😦
Cheers.
its always awesome how he promotes his afford a board.... then shows up with this board....even went as far as to include a super expensive tuner pedal... laughable....always knew you were a joke ryan....thanks for finally making it known once you got some pub on the sweetwater channel....
Why is him having an expensive board in any way relevant? Also I can tell your age cause.....you.....type....like....this
Why would you have this nobody that can barely play on your channel? He must have paid you guys
In what ways is he barely playing? I hear normal guitar playing
The long hair guy is such a fake 😅
DON CARR IS A RESPECTED STUDIO PLAYERS AND HAS TOURED WITH SOME OF THE BEST OF NASHVILLE WHAT HAVE YOU DONE ?
@@freddycookjr.2164 I'm not talking about his playing
I had a great time chatting with him and hanging out the 3 days I was at sweetwater. If he’s fake I’m not which parts are “fake”.
19:57 26:20 32:59
I wouldn’t say fake. He has a surfer / Matthew McConaughey vibe. He plays it up a bit for the cameras I’m sure. The showbiz thing. I dunno. I don’t mind it.
