- Ramakrishnan Murthy was the featured artiste at the FEA-curated A SOUTHERN TURN concert. He began his recital with a swarajati composed by Syama Sastri in Raga Yadukulakambhoji.
He was accompanied by his guru RK Shriramkumar on violin, Manoj Siva on mridangam and BS Purushotham on kanjira. Tanpuras were provided by Dattatraya Ghenend and Sudhir Kathavate. - Hudba

This swarajathi in Yadukula kamboji is beautifully sung by this youngster. He has excellent future. But I feel he is not ease sometimes because his guru is playing violin. But in lower octave it is SUPERB (the composition is normally sung in chowkala only, this is best after Bombay Jayasree's Swarajathi. God bless this young man with more laurels to come! Feel fresh in mind. Thank you boy.

This is what happens when a talented person comes across a learned guru, well versed in the hoary tradition!
So beautifully sung, and rich in sowkhya bhaava. Sung in unhurried manner, and so soothing. Yadukula Kambodhi is supposed to induce peace of mind; Sri Ramakrishnan Murthy's singing certainly does that. His singing has improved by leaps and bounds in the last two years. Sri Sriramkumar's violin playing is wonderful as usual, and sweet beyond words. Sri Manoj Siva has played softly, with sensitivity and restraint. An altogether extraordinary performance.
Wonderful to hear him sing the Yadukula Kambhoji swarajati of Shyama Shastri. This is very rarely sungon the concert platform. It is a very unique treatment of the raga.

In an interview,
Ms Subbulakshmi fondly remembers a concert in her budding days , when the violinist didn't turn up, the Great maestro Chembai himself played the violin for her.
She goes on to elucidate how those days, musicians and other people had generous hearts and abundance of humility.

Nice rendition. In the last Charanam, the swarams are like SRGS, 6 places from the athitham then MGRSNDP, then MGRSNDPGR.
Actually in the original version, it is like MGRS, MGRSNDP, MGRSNDPMG. MGRSS- 5 (khandam); MGRSNDP- 7 (Misram) and MGRSNDPMG-9 (Sankeernam) within Misra CHapu Thalam as described by Prof. Sambamurthy. MGRSS starts from the Samam of the MIsra Chapu Talam. Shyama Sastri is a Master of Laya in this way
