    The motor is wrong way mounted and in reverse

    I took one of these type of thrusters and doubled the forward thrust by adding a tapered nozzle to the back (a plastic cup) and adding 4 stator blades inside the cup to straighten out the spinning water.
    The best part is it doesn't even draw more power.
    The worst part is reverse thrust is greatly weakened.

      I would love to see a picture or video of how you did this modification, as I am considering it for mine.

      Sorry but I wouldn't know where to start. I'm not that connected to the online world. I basically copied the same features that ducted fans often have on rc planes.

      @@Andy-df5fj thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I'll check out rc motor mods on CZcams!

    I think you'd increase the speed by turning the motor other way around like the narrower end towards back. Cool idea tho I'm trying to build something similar but with 2 motors instead. How does the Scotty bracket holds up? Is it not too wobbly? Would it withstand a bigger motor with more thrust? Thanks

    Maybe try adding a 2nd motor to the other side for additional speed

      Hello, didn't seem help too much on the ocean. if it is in a lake , it would be much helpful. Wouldn't recomment at ocean as the current is much greater offshore.

    Hi. I can't see it properly. How fast is the boat going? does it run on 12v?

    • @Mitch_Outdoors
      @Mitch_Outdoors  Před rokem +1

      yes runs on 12v batteries, Depending on the current at ocean, Top speed 0.80 mph calm condition. Maybe it has to do where you put the motor. i put minds at the side. Take a look at how i soldier 12v lithium ion battery. very compact

      @@WHEELSRODSADVENTURE won’t help on ocean as the current is too great. Not recommended for ocean. Won’t push forward, don’t waste money

      from my point of view, average 0.8 miles an hour. calm condition. if with heavy swell, it won't feel a thing.
