if only you guys KNEW what prom is like in austria, it always kills me that I can't actually join in with them on their conversations, I feel like they would have been so shocked to hear how prom is done here it's sooo different 😭😂
it's literally a ball that the students plan YEARS in advance, venues cost tens of thousands of euros so you have to find sponsors, etc., a year in advance we start booking out nightclubs and sell tickets to make money for prom,
the prom is also extremely formal and your entire family and most teachers come, you also do 2 performances, one classical dance that you practice for months in advance and then another dance or theatre performance at midnight, then at 2/3 you have a club booked for everyone to go to and get drunk (even the teachers come sometimes) and after the club at like 6 you have a café booked for a "prosecco breakfast" 😭 this isn't even half of it, there's so many more crazy things that are just so different from american proms

Taking a previous graduate is pretty common within my school! We’re able to take someone up to 2 years after graduated, but they go through the school to get “approved” or just alerted that someone not currently in school is participating. Also we combined our prom with the Juniors and Seniors from our two neighboring high schools, so it definitely didn’t feel empty.
The glow up set-wise and people wise since the beginning is AMAZING

It was a small school, so we all kinda knew each other anyway. 25 years later, looks like it was a great idea for my husband & I!! 😁
