- Join in on an exclusive tour of the Morakniv factory! Watch a knife being made, from the initial cutting of the steel to the finishing packaging. Welcome to the world of Mora!
Our factory is still located in Mora, Sweden - just as it was a century ago. This is where we manufacture all our knives using a combination of craftsman’s skill and modern technology - and rigorously check every step of the process. Design, material and methods are all constantly refined by staff who have inherited generations of professional knowledge. - Věda a technologie
My dad was in the coast guard when he was a teenager and when going thru his old camping gear with him he found his old Mora Knife, he gave it to me and today i’ve started refurbishing it (Removing rust, Fresh Varnish on handle and now onto sharpening) absolutely beautiful
Love the philosophy, quality, and history of Morakniv... And my buying habits reflect this. These knives are not pretentious boutique items you bring out at a BBQ to brag on, and live life in a display case - No, these are made to work, and be afforded by everyday people who appreciate simple, honest quality. 95% of everyday tasks needing a knife can be done with Mora knives, and they PUT TO SHAME many knives in the $100+ range. Keep at it Mora, and I'll keep buying them. Thank you.
Thank you so much! Greetings from Mora, Sweden
I just received my Mora Basic 511, and even though it is the "entry" level knife, it is built with superb quality.
I would like to thank the hard workers at Morakniv for this awesome knife, thank you all.
Some of the greatest knives ever. I own some expensive knives, but only my Mora is on my hip and used daily. 👍
Same here I like my buck pocket knifes as well over all but the price on fixed blade Mora's is amazing.
Because your expensive knives worth rest on the shelves, and the Morakniv is inexpensive to be expendable to use?
it warms my heart to see how far vikings have come... well done vikings... well done...
Vikings were convert to Islam a long time ago.
Same fundamental knife design as back then so the main difference is that they now favour garden tractors and burger king, political correctness abounds, alcohol is under strict government control and while spearguns exist, they’re illegal because you might hurt the fish …
@@Kang_Guru. what?

Thank you so much! Greetings from Mora, Sweden
@@MoraknivOfficial your very welcome and hello from Oklahoma , USA
Best knives for all situations ❤️ mora & victorinox essential in my EDC
@@ETSIRAVE I don’t care how cheap or expensive it is mora is better then some $100 knives I have
That red handled Moraniv really is a beautiful simplistic piece.
I have spent a fortune on knives and I always end up using my Mora, simple, cheap and totally reliable.
In terms of price to performance ratio, this is no doubt the absolute best brand in the world, nothing can compare to a Mora if you want a reasonably priced blade, and when compared to even the priciest knives on the market, the cutting performance is nearly identical, the only difference being wear resistant and aesthetics.
Opinel has a simmilar price for a simmilar quality.
@@garethbaus5471 Opinel are not as durable, but are more "slicey" due to the thinner blade stock and full flat grind. Their handles aren't as comfortable; they have that hot spot from that back corner.
Bought one 2 month ago, blade already started to rust...
Truly disappointed 👎👎👎 (uk climate)
Swedish steel...,? ohhh come on:(
@@attilabori4734 Stainless or carbon? I have a few Mora’s and never any problems with them. Carbon blades get a wipe with olive oil after a clean once I’ve finished using them, stainless just gets a quick wipe over.
Have you use Hultafors? For me their knives have better handle ergo and more esthetic form.
A good friend gave me a Mora knife. I already had many "good" knives, costing hundreds of dollars, with lots of recognized names and reputations. Let me tell you, everytime i head into the wild, i never leave without my Mora. It gets scary sharp, great in hand, and doesn't require alot of time returning its edge.
I also have the same experience, add the price tag and the fact that they are lightweight, which means that are easier to carry and they won't get much damage if you accidentally drop them on the ground. Best bush knives period.
Yeah I used to own fallknivens, bark river, esee and others. In the end I sold everything except a couple of Mora. In the tests I did the Mora cut much better because of the thinner blade. Difference in steel is mostly theoretical. I find the steels hardened by Mora to be more than sufficient and are easy to sharpen. Handles like that on the Mora 2000 are unbeatable and work in all weather. No exposed metal that freeze in the cold. Handles that grip even when wet or slimey. Just straight up better knives. Not just better for the money, but better knives period.
I have a Mora Knife just about everywhere I go. One in the car, tool box, fishing box, kitchen office draw, garage bedroom edc box, ect. In all about 12 total. They are one of the most reliable knives on the market by far. Thank Mora for making such a great knife and staying humble. Most knife companies would have doubled the price once they noticed all the interest. Cheers from California.
Mora,Opinel and Victorinox, the european kings.
From the Southern Tip of Africa where I bought my first little Eldris ..Thank You Morakniv !
I own 9 Mora knives so far. And I'm sure will own more! Mora knives in my opinion are without a doubt the finest production knives in the world!
What is your favorite?
such lovely knives, you guys are the godsend to the budget knife community and your 511s have to be the best stocking stuffers ever
Morakniv does not waste on fancy over priced grip and sheath, they give you a functional quality knife that has only what's necessary to do the job correctly, keeping the price in affordable range.
Bought a dirt cheap knife made by this company still had the rough unfinished spine, but damn it a tough little bastard, fifteen euro bought me the toughest knife I have seen in decades. It is carbon steel and is starting to grow a beautiful patina makes me now wish it had a beautiful handle to match, excellent marketing strategy Gentlemen you got me.
Spines are unfinished so they work better with firesteels. But yes, it looks ugly a bit :D
I think you just sold me a couple more...
I have a Companion, which amazes me with it's capability, comfort and value. I'm currently using it as a rough whittling knife: it batons branches into quarters, then does the rough bark removal.
Next, I got an Eldris (in "Ben Blue") just to see how I'd like a pocket fixed blade. It has quickly become one of my favorites.
I will make one request: offer harder steels for at least some of your outdoor knives. Something around Rc 61 and stain resistant. (Maybe D2 or S30V?) I feel that Mora can do this and, while more expensive than the lower hardness steels offered today, still offer a great value. I guess it would require some new tooling, but remember that your competitors are charging much more as well. Since you produce on a much greater scale, you can still beat their price.
Why have I never seen this... awesome.
I just bought my first new morakniv companion a few days ago. I learned about morakniv a few years ago on youtube. I found a knife at a garage sale and I bought it. I knew it was a moralniv but I didn't know what type. Now I'm pretty sure it is a 511 but it has a green handle and a lanyard hole- none of the one's I've seen have that. So a few days ago I bought a new mora companion so now I have 2 mora. One for the kitchen and one for the bushcraft. 😎🇨🇦👍
Never without one. Your product has become my constant companion. Pun intended...
Great to hear!
A Mora and a Victorinox should be in every backpack worldwide! 😉
Morakniv is one of the best knifes i have- i am a Knife Collector i have Hundreds of them, i test all of them, so Great Job- Thank You and Greetings from Kosova- Prishtina City 🇽🇰💙 ⚔️ 🇸🇪💛
Thank you so much, you collectors are crazy (in a good way of course)! Warmest greetings from the factory in Mora, Sweden.
Mora 511 is the evolution of a viking tool knife. The moment you hold it you understand it.Morakniv is not only a company it's a culture.
Love my new Morakniv! Great quality, affordable price. Thank you
I've had several Mora knives; Every time I go on an outing - fishing, camping, hiking, etc., I never leave without one of them. Mora is quality to the extreme.
Same here my Mora eldris is my daily probably for life
I love MoraKniv . Superb Quality Everyone can Afford.
Thank you Kemuel!
love Mora for nice quality and low price!
Great knife. I own two of them and love them both. It's hard to imagine how they are able to produce them with such great quality at such reasonable prices. We use them over here in the United states for backpacking and wilderness survival. They are very lightweight but very durable. They have excellent steel in them which is something that's absolutely essential in any knife.
Hey Tom, free your slaves.
Saya suka pisau morakniv, kualitasnya bagus dan terlihat indah bentuknya, salam kenal Dari indonesia.... Sukses selalu buat morakniv
Absolutely love Mora knives, they are truly one of the best and have stood the test of time!
greeting from Canada! Your knives are really great for feathering and carving
Have like 9 Morakniv's I love the stainless options like the pro s, and the kansbol. Wish the high carbon was less prone to rust.
Very very good! I love my Mora Companyon Heavy Duty! Greetings from Brazil.

We're happy to hear! Greetings from Mora :)
I absolutely love the Mora's! the eldris is my all time favorite knife, i almost love it more then the first knife I ever got when I was 8 years old haha. thank you for such a high quality amazing knife! This eldris or another eldris color, will be my pocket knife for a lifetime.
Agree love my Eldris also.

Thanks from the mountains of Virginia in the USA!
Such an amazing company. Mora rep=dream job.
Everyone should own at least two Mora knives. I own five of them!
I love Morakniv
I wish these were more common in Canada. Got to get myself one and do some bushcraft.
I have the carving knife and it's incredible...best decision I've made with purchasing carving tools.
Reliable knife that you can count on. So affordable you don’t feel bad about using, abusing or even losing. I own knives that cost some $$$ that I don’t want to risk damaging or losing. So what’s the point of owning a tool you don’t use? I wish the made a folding knife for an EDC for my pocket at work.
Incredible. Love Mora knives!!
I have one of the Morakniv/Light my fire knives and I LOVE it I take it with me on every adventure!!!!👍
I wanted one of those hahaha for my kiddos they are very cool and practical outdoor knifes
Love these ...
Just ordered one.
The best bargain there is in knives.
Best knives hands down God bless....
Love my Mora Knives!!
I love these knives!!!
morakniv is best kinv. years ago I lost an expensive bushcraft knife on dartmoor. not not feeling like spending the same amount of cash again I replaced it with a very standard and very cheap Mora with a 5mm carbon scandi blade. best thing that could have happened. all I had to do was put some corners on a couple of cm of the spine for a fire steel and finish the hone and its perfect. I doubt I'll ever buy another knife.
Мора делает отличные ножи! Использую Компаньен и Элдрис. Очень доволен!!!
This whole time I've been pronouncing it "more-ah" and from what I've seen pretty much everyone else does too in America/Canada/UK, nice to know it's actually "moor-ah"
Nah more like moo-rah k’neev
quality / price, unbeatable!👍
Thank you Emiliano!
Grattis här i Brasilien 🇧🇷 Ni gör ett utmärkt jobb. Stora knivar. Congratulations.
Excellent knives I have 3 carving and 2 others all are excellent, well worth the money
Best friends in forest Mora and Opinel ;)
Temmie Team tell me if u need to baton/chopp
Use axe :)
Petero Akarudi lol
@@francesco7723 i always baton with my mora companion stainless steel. Through hardwood and sometimes through knots in wood. I did a lot of tip testing .
My knife is easily sharpened and holds up great. No problems AT ALL so far (few months of regular use in backyard, sometimes hard use) IF it ever breaks, mind the word IF, I would just buy another one. Maybe the heavy duty companion in carbon. But i doubt it would be significantly better.
@@francesco7723 I can and have battoned with an opinel #8 it it works fine but it isn't very common for the need to arise.
Bought one 511 Basic today for just 99 czk = cca $4 :) That is hard to beat.
Best knives... I love it
In an industry saturated with superfluous in expense and facetious knives, who's whole purpose for existence is to be a collector's item, I've developed something of a brand loyalty for morakniv, although I don't currently have them anymore I had a basic and a robust that did 100% of everything I could ever ask it to do, knowing it would even do stuff I didn't know how to do. I believe morakniv is one company you can be monogamous with and not feel like you "lost out" on all the other offerings out there
Many say there is nothing like a handmade knife. I disagree to an extent. Yes, the attention to detail and finish of a knife from a reputable custom maker is great, but they're extremely expensive. Moras are perfect, and you can buy a Basic for less than $10 in most cutlery retailers. I own about ten Morakniv now (in both carbon and stainless steel), and every one of them is perfect. Yet, from most of the American cutlery brands, it varies immensely between knife to knife to some brands in terms of finish, sharpness, and smoothness of action. Around the time I first noticed this video, I was studying mechatronics when I took a roughly one-year break from finishing my BS in Management to complete both the Siemens Level 1 and Level 2 mechatronics programs. Robotics and automation produce far more repeatable results. That's why the Swiss knives are so good as well--it does not vary that much. Also, it cuts down on production costs A LOT; and helps to keep production within a country's own borders.
As someone who does farm work, a bit of outdoorsmanship, DIY, and carpentry; Morakniv are, in my opinion, the best knives one can purchase with a small budget.
Very cool!
Great work man
today i learned how to spell morakniv perfecly, thanks
Thank you. Very interesting and informative.
Thanks to you for watching!
the swedish accent is strong in this young padawan :p
Indeed.
I just got the mora 106 for my 12 year old boy!
Awesome. Just got my first one. Good stuff!
I love my Morakniv 120. And now, thanks to this video, I know how to pronounce "Morakniv." :)
Thank you Sharon! Haha, the pronunciation is important...
i have a mora 106 and a 122 i love them!
Now I finally know, how to pronounce Morakniv :-)
My friend Brad Torelli's father, Gaetano, imported Mora knives for his mail order business in the late 1940's, just after WWII. 'PIC. was his tang stamp and later, he used the symbol of a pick stuck in a mountain peak; Precision Import Company
Well that's a story! Thank you for sharing.
My dream to have one.
I have .go mora go .love them .
So cool
Love your products I own two of your knives. I am a firm believer in the strength and quality of a morkiniv blade after the punishment I have put your blades through . I would love to test one of your 2000 series on my CZcams channel .

Excellent video, I found it is interesting ! N.E. Iowa USA at Ya! Thank you !
1:26 I love mora, I have 5 knives from them and I use them regularly, but I’ve had 2 of them (mora companion and bushcraft black) arrive completely dull. Luckily I know how to sharpen knives but it was still fairly disappointing. No hate to mora, the other knives arrived razor sharp and ready for outdoor use and I don’t think you can get a better knife for the price.
Kind regards,
David
Are these cheaper than handmade custom knives?
I have mora no 1 and 2. The whittling knives, Companion, Kansbol, Garberg, 511, Robust and probably a few others I forget.
The best one is the Mora 2000. The handle is unbeatable as is the blade. I wish you update the looks on the 2000 sheath though. Perhaps offer the 2000 with a red handle and black sheath to echo the classic knives. Imo the 2000 is the no2 for the 21st century. Best knife in the world. Oh and please offer it in carbon steel too!
Thank you for your continuous support! Greetings from the knife factory in Mora, Sweden. ✨
I have 4 moraknivs. Perfect beauties
Amazing!
@@MoraknivOfficial may I ask, I have the mora classic 2f (red wooden handle, rat tail full tang). Is this a knife that is designed for hard, heavy duty work as well? I think not, right? I put it in a vice, knife blade down, and I could really wobble and move the handle back and forth, as if the steel inside was elastic. Makes me think this is a knife for lighter duties am I right. I have seen pple on youtube betonning it through logs and big wooden pieces and stuff and it held up well, though. How much can you pry with this knife? Should i? Again, I think I know the answer, but I would like your opinion
Mora, los queremos en México.
Cuando los podemos encontrar, en mercado libre, están muy caros.
Martin, buscalos en Amazon Mexico. Yo he comprado varios a muy buen precio. Sls
Morakniv 💚 I have my first Mora (classic) with age of 10 years. From this moment i like this knives. I have a question; could you maybe make a morakniv bolo machete? Carbon steel with full tang, 2-2.5mm blade thickness, 35 cm blade length and rubberized plastic handle? i think i and some people would love them. Greetings from Kleve, Germany
Nice to hear! Let's see what the future holds. Greetings from the knife factory in Mora, Sweden. ✨
Wish my Mora Robust had been made with all of the lauded precision and craftsmanship mentioned here... Right from the factory packaging the blade was mounted crookedly in the handle (have seen others mention the same issue), and the sharpness was just OK (super cheap 511 was very sharp)... Also, although the plastic sheath is serviceable, knife retention is VERY poor... It needs to be at least twice as much, without fiddling around with modifications. No hate, just facts.
very good job iuse my moracompanion now since nearly two jears and i sharpend it only one time but its stilll sharp and its for such a good knife a very good price dont know how you get such qwalyty and such an price in one pice
why are the neck knife 3times the price of a full sized knife of the same quality?
Marketing bud. Why is a small bottle of coca cola more than a can of coca cola when the can contains more liquid... marketing!
I believe its a little bit harder to deal with smaller stuff than it is with the normal stuff
