  • This documentary is a scenic expedition through majestic volcanoes, seething geysers, powerful waterfalls, threatening fjords and almighty glaciers. Hardly any other country offers such a variety of spectacular forces of nature! But not only that, this island offers its people a bout of freedom and equality that puts it on the list as the number one place to visit. With an extremely low mortality rate, high life expectancy and stellar incomes it is giving Disneyland stiff competition as the happiest place on earth. While chalked full of excitement and good cheer, this documentary will give you an insight into how it can be that the people of a small, distant island with only a fraction of sunlight in some months can be happier than the people in sun-blessed Italy and Spain.

By far one of the best, if not the best, narratives on this island in the North Atlantic, covering both geographical and historical dimensions. In contrast to tons of travel videos on Iceland, focusing at Instagram-able spots as found in CZcams, this documentary allows the viewers to have a far more profound appreciation of this much isolated piece of land and it's people.

I think the secret to Icelanders' happiness is crystal clear - one simply has to look at the exquisite landscape surrounding them and the answer materializes immediately. Few places on Earth can lay claim to such a wide variety of breathtakingly beautiful vistas. Everywhere one turns, the magnificence of this planet is there to behold. If a lovely sunset viewed from the shabby window of a lackluster apartment complex situated in the middle of a concrete jungle can bring a smile to your face, imagine what it must be like to _live_ in a place upon which Mother Nature seems to have bestowed an extra dose of love.

The way their cities are built also has a large contributing factor to the populations happiness. It's been documented that cities built around the accessibility of people able to find things close and walk or bike without worry makes for happier people.
Places like the US that are so large that you have the separation of cities and suburbs makes for longer times spent in cars and less community building.

"...is still swimming in money, despite the banking crisis..." Yes, they still have money! *Because* Iceland actually prosecuted all the bankers who caused all those financial problems. They heavily fined & decreed jail time, rather than what America did, which was merely patting our bankers on the wrist (not even a slap!) and bailing them out with yet more money they weren't entitled to.

I have a question, its not sarcasm.
If Iceland is in the North,,,,,
Why would it be called the ends of the earth? Why wouldnt it be the far south?
And the Globe just throws me off totally,,,,,they all blend togather, end of one, becomes the beginning of the other,so not a end at all.Just a line made by man for man to measure by. The North should be highest point on Globe or concave earth..
South as the lowest... but this doesnt work out neither.
The ones who decide these things,,,,
Isnt telling whole story. Or they just dont have any common sence. I will leave that choice up to the reader.

They didnt have all these others stepping in causing kaos. They had morals, respect,Creator GOD in their lives. It was simple, not complicated.
Comfort of riches doesnt make one happy. It may be nice but its not happiness.

Its the fallen angels,,,you know they left heaven to come here and mix their seed with humans. Genesis 6
    Ist book of the BIBLE.
They were then and here today still !!
They know that BIBLE better than most,,,They have no power over man.
They can only give you thoughts.
Its up to you to listen to them or to listen to voice of GOD inside us.
