Monuments has actually been around for as long as Periphery, and have always had a distinct style from the get-go. Browne, their main songwriter, has been at the forefront of the "djent" movement alongside Misha from Periphery since like the early '03-'04ish, but Monuments struggled with finding a permanent vocalist, and weren't as tech/production savvy, so they've kinda flown under the radar for a lot of people. Periphery has always been all over the place stylistically, which I love about them, but Monuments is going to bring the groove 100% of the time. It never gets boring tho b/c they play in 6+ different tunings ranging from 6-8 string guitars, and play in every key imaginable. They're really good at making complex rhythmic devices easy to digest. Almost all of their riffs have some form of displacement, whether it be via polymeter, or some other rhythmic motif, but even if you lack that level of music knowledge I think their riffs still sound good on a surface level.

dragtr0n I honestly like them both equally, Periphery holds a special place in my heart though.
