    23.4.1+ tutorial - czcams.com/video/WVRAqml-NUw/video.html
rebar(SAM) may not work correctly on 23.2.1 & above , this may be fixed in current latest version, but if not - it will work in 23.1.2 & below versions for sure. (23.1.2 exist only for Polaris/Vega/Navi)
offtopic but useful for tutorials on yt - plugin which brings back Dislikes (not fully accurate but close to reality) - waa.ai/dislikes (if link is down, write "return CZcams dislikes" in Google)
    known issues & stuff -
while you can enable SAM on GCN and pre-GCN - in radeon settings it will not be visible(apparently in radeon settings it's visible only for polaris/vega/navi), anyways, you can check whether you fully enabled it in gpu-z and hwinfo64. abload.de/img/proof1b14j5t.png , abload.de/img/proof2fikwd.png
    EASY ANTI-CHEAT WORKAROUND
If you're using Windows Disk Cleaner or 3rd party software like Wise Cleaner, CCleaner, IOBit, etc. This is a problem since WHQL Parser installed/stored in DriverStore will be detected as junk. You need to exclude the "Driver Package" cleaning section, then Fix WHQL parser in NimeZ Setup Extras Section
Some modded drivers versions do not work for some people, e.g. person "a" fails to install 21.11.2 but installs 21.12.1 just fine, while for person "b" it's opposite, and for person "c" neither of these work but some other version works instead, it's frustrating so all I can do is to warn you about that in the pinned comment here
recommended OS version is Windows 10 21H2 , other versions may be incompatible with the driver.
in case if games with Easy Anti Cheat(EAC) are lagging for you - Repair WHQL State using NzSetup
list of the appropriate drivers architectures for the appropriate gpus below -
Terascale = HD 5000(M)~HD 76xx(M) (an (M) means that both desktop and laptop versions of the gpu are compatible) (link of supported GPUs - TBA )
in case if Adrenalin 21.11.1 says that your OS is not supported while it being 1709 or above - try to restart your computer afterwards, and then to install the software in NZSetup(or to install driver through device manager & software through nzsetup & restart pc), 1 of these methods have worked for one user.
    GCN = HD 7800(M)~HD 8xxx(M), R200(M), R300(M), R Fury , R400M (R200 stands for entire R5 R7 R9 200 series, same for the R Fury , R300 etc) (link of supported GPUs - TBA)
    Polaris/Vega/Navi = RX400(M), RXVega(M), RX500(M/X), RX5000(M), RX6000(M) (link of supported GPUs - TBA)

    • @cskillers1
      @cskillers1  Před 2 lety

hi! i don't recall such option in CLI extras, but you can quickly raise your driver timeout to the optimal value via downloading this - download.aida64.com/aida64engineer675.zip , then open it, click OK, on top of the program click Tools , then click System Stability Test , then add checkmark to Stress GPU(s) , (and then if i remember correctly it will tell you that your TdrDelay is low & that it suggests you to raise it, and you must press "yes" (i think) , to let it raise it) , then reboot the PC , , , or to press Stress GPU(s) then start the test & then it will ask you to raise it & reboot the pc , , , if it does not ask you to raise it then it's already raised enough.
Alternatively you can google how to raise TdrDelay manually in RegEdit :)

@@kzrhridoy2953 hi! , this is an old problem which unfortunately exist mostly on r9 380 and rx 480 as far as i remember, to fix it you'll have to go here first - sourceforge.net/projects/amernimezone/files/Release%20Legacy%20GCN%20%28Pre-Polaris%29/ , download the 22.5.1 driver, unzip it & open NzSetupCLI.exe as admin , write 4 & press enter , then write 2 & press enter , select 21.10 or 21.40 , then in the snappy driver installer window check the Pci Bus driver & click on Install , and reboot afterwards, most of R9 380 and RX 480 users fixed this problem by using 21.40 / 21.10 versions , you can try them all though.
(though i just remembered some guy commented on the forum that the latest w10 update installs the latest pci driver on it's own, at least on the latest gpu driver version, don't know if that's true, but if it's true then you are kinda screwed, but hopefully either 21.40 or 21.10 will work, but if no then you may try to install the 21.5.1 driver with them, or some older one, feel free to msg me how it went.)

Have you managed to get the UI V5 stable? AMD Settings always crashes for me from the second boot. Any noticeable difference with the experimental kernels? R9 390 here too.

    • @cskillers1
      @cskillers1  Před 2 lety

hey! i used the V5 without any issues but on 22.5.1 drivers, sapphire r9 390 , stability may vary from gpu to gpu & from driver version to driver version, haven't tested it on 22.6.1 yet.
i also tried experimental kernels on 22.5.1 , and also didn't had any issues with them, unfortunately i haven't done any tests about the difference between experimental & default
i also use reduced timings on my gpu bios so that also may matter, reduced timings give about 3% performance boost in every game/application at the same clocks (temperature will increase a bit though due to a bit higher fps), if you want to do it on your gpu via vbios flash i can show you how to.

Hi, GCN will be the driver for your HD 8970M (which yes is same as R9 M290X) , on guru3d website - scroll down till you will see GCN Architecture "Spoiler" (just like on the video) , click on the spoiler and then download 22.10.1 , afterwards probably select regular installation, "probably" because your laptop have Terascale APU but GCN GPU , and there's no such option in installer

Hi, are you installing Polaris/Vega/Navi driver? Because this guide is for GCN, and RX 580 needs driver for Polaris/Vega/Navi , SAM must be checked in GPU-Z/Advanced/Vulkan , if both memory 1 & memory 3 are 8192MB then it's enabled, pics in pinned comment, Amd settings at least on a GCN card simply does not display SAM even when it actually may be in fact enabled and working, at least on GCN cards, may be same on early RX cards dunno.

@@10percent4DaBigGuy nice! thanks for the info about that it works on RX on older drivers, will share it to some other RX gpus users since occasionally they do appear here in the comment section
about SAM , SAM does not benefit from your System Memory (RAM) , RAM amount in pc is irrelevant, SAM just gives supported Games/Tools to access all of the GPU's VRAM at once instead of the 256mb blocks, so in some games it gives a few fps more
if you will feel like flashing the vbios again at some point later on due to w/e reason - www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/ , here make sure to pick your proper model & partner model brand(if yours is partner model) from verified uploads, if there's none in verified then can pick from unverified however unverified vbios you also have to check in a vbios editor for your gpu, because unverified uploads can have completely wrong clocks volts and so on.
maybe that's how you broke your gpu,
also flashing e.g. asus to e.g. sapphire can also brick it but in some cases it just works or works but with glitches
and yes it's always good to have a spare gpu/igpu to restore your bricked one :)

hi, go for 22.10.1 GCN, you can follow the installation process which i used in this video, process will be a tiny bit different in 22.10.1 but pretty much the same, 22.10.1 will have framebuffer compression enabled by default which is the main boost for 4GB & lower vram gpus
the only thing i can think of which you may need to enable depends on how many threads your cpu have, if you have e.g. FX8350 or higher(8 threads), any i7(8 threads) or any ryzen 5 & higher then you don't need to do anything, if you have some of the older I5's or I3's which are below than 8threads then you can go to [19] in toolkit (queue size), and change that from 8 to default 3, or to appropriate amount of threads for your processor (core2duo, AMD A6 = 2 , athlons = 2 or 4 , older i3 & i5's, core2quad, ryzen 3 1200, AMD A8~12 & some xeons = 4 , phenom = 4 or 6 , some lower fx models = 4 or 6)

hi, which cpu & gpu? , you can try to DDU & then to install experimental kernel driver instead of the default one, there's ~2 experimental kernel drivers for gcn currently, they can be found by opening NzSetupCLI.exe / EXPERIMENTAL KERNEL GPU DRIVER: / and pick 1 of the listed ones there , additionally if your CPU is for example an I3 6100(4 threads total) then in EXTRAS Amernime Zone Diagnostic, Troubleshoot, and Toolkit - GPU Buffer Queue Overide - set to 4(to be same as threads amount) , in gpu-z check if the pcie resizable bar support is Disabled or Enabled, if it's enabled then in gpu-z's Advanced tab open Vulkan, scroll down & Memory 3 on Enabled should be an exact amount of your gpu's VRAM , if it's 256mb on Enabled then disable PCIe resizable bar support in NzSetupCLI & in your bios, if it's 256mb while rebar is disabled then that's normal. additional you can try to repair WHQL signature by opening NzSetupCLI & writing [7] & enter , it fixes some online games for some users
another option is to use one of the older Nimez drivers, i have multiple older versions guides on my youtube channel and links for the files are in the description except for the very first video i believe.
you also can ask for some assistance on the forum :)

hi, you can! i don't remember the setup process of 22.10.1 exactly, however if you get 1 of these during the setup process as an option -
[1] Install AMD Radeon Software Interface
[2] Add AMD Re-Live DVR Addon
      [3] Add AMD Re-Live DVR with VR-Addon
then the choice for you is obviously [1]
if there's no such option, then just select "no" to whether you want to install the software or no
and then open NzSetupCLI.exe as admin , write 5 and enter (amd software) , then write 1 and enter (software 3.5) , and then write 1 & enter (installs software only)
you also can remove the software from this menu completely if you previously installed it by doing 9 8 & 7 and then installing it
in case if something in this software is not working as intended, you also can give a go to the following two versions, they fixed some issues for a decent amount of users with GCN gpus.
[3] Online or Local Install Experimental UI V5.0_22.10
Best Suited for Kernel Version: 27.20.20xxx and Newer
[4] Online or Local Install Experimental UI V5.0_22.20
Best Suited for Kernel Version: 27.20.20xxx and Newer
additionally if re-live is still present in both of the software versions (3.5 & 5.0) - you can just remove the hotkeys from recording, instant replay, streaming, though from what i remember 5.0 have an option to install the software without these hotkeys too
      bye!

First of all I want to say is that smart access memory option may not be visible in Radeon settings, however it can still work even if it's not visible, but you should check if it's properly enabled or no. I should have a link to image in my pinned comment which explains where to check for whether SAM is enabled or no, tool is gpu-z
It's enabled generally from these all together -
      1. Enabling resizable bar support in bios

      3. Having a UEFI GPU bios, not legacy
      4. Enabling Sam in nimez options
      5. Having 4gb vram or higher amount GPU

"RX 580 4GB can't enable ReBAR and SAM due to Memory Size Limitations, only 8GB variant has high chance to enable ReBar and SAM flawlessly"

^i think regular one doesn't work for pretty much everyone but you still can try
if it doesn't work then go back to the same menu & select Enable with ASIC , write 22 & press enter

but you should either try to reinstall the driver or to do the workaround which you can see on that youtube link which i sent to you :)
unless you mean that the 22.6.1 driver from the AMD download page is 21.9 driver in the ReleaseVersion, which is actually very possible because the one on AMD web page is actually a renamed 21.5.2 driver or so , modded driver is not a renamed old driver so it offers full advantages in latest games which got the support from the latest drivers for them :)

While fps number will remain around the same, since it's an online game fps can vary and be 180 in one match and 80 in another, different maps, players with skins, locations
Your GPU temperature is great and you don't have any issues with it. :) (Though in CoD Warzone 2 you had 77c on a 60 fps lock, that may mean anything, try to unlock it temporarily for testing purposes just for your own knowledge for the future, if temps do not exceed ~84 then I guess you still fine, if they do exceed then just raise the fan speed in future when you will game in some heavy not fps locked games, throttling starts at 94c on this GPU.)
For more of fps tweaks(if lucky, may easily gain 0 boost) you can open NzSetupCLI.exe as admin, troubleshooting, and to move around it, it also have a 2nd page inside it so keep that in mind, there's one option which can heavily increase fps on low vram GPUs but I assume it have little to no effect on an R9 390X, solid setup by the way :)

I suggest you to do a retest of temps on both of drivers if the game is not Halo, and while you do that - also note down the fps values during the game, higher fps = higher temperature (or rather higher GPU load = higher temperature but higher fps generally is a good indicator too)
