HAPPY BLACK HISTORY MONTH. RESPECT 🙏 TO KING OF POETRY. NJ. ALL LOVE ALWAYS TO AMIRI BARAKA .HE LOVED HIS POC. THIS WILL ALWAYS BE OUR EXAMPLE OF A GOAT BROTHER.
i didn't know amiri baraka passed away. i met him in college when he came to our school. his recitation was really powerful. i love the beats. he was a great human being.
I’m so glad I just found this man Watched a documentary on herbet selby Jrn the author of requiem for a dream and last exit . This man cane up a lot , I was curious , now I’m a believer .
Previously known as LeRoi Jones, author of the only books on Black Music I could find when I was in high school, 1968: Black Music, and Blues People. Still excellent and relavent books.
I doubt Amiri Baraka intended to incite literal violence - I mean he never actually tried to do so outside of poetry. But I don't think it's irrational or inappropriate to use such strong language, given that African Americans in the US were certainly *never* subjected to the kind of moderate, peaceful, non-violent resistance of the kind that we expect from them now. In a way that is more than metaphorical, I would say, my fellow whites (at least many of the ones writing comments here) have sadly forfeited a better, more humane, more morally honest life that they could have if they would allow themselves to admit to and accept their share of the weight of America's history of white supremacist violence and suppression.
The only way to get reparations for all of that would be to take it by force, because it won't/can't happen any other way. I'm pretty sure he knew that. This is also not poetry...despite the scat singing.
+CounterRevolutionary because racist like you still exist only to be found by the bumber of my car and to taste the Michelin's as I drive over you to create Racist Road Kill.
The ellipse implies that you had further thought you chose to leave out of your sentence, clearly you don't understand punctuation because with a mind as closed as yours there couldn't have been any room for extra thoughts lingering in the ignorance of your sentence and misused ellipse.
Forget resting in peace, or paradise, or power....may he come back and haunt the shit of the devil that persecutes us

Ase
Naw Baraka I want reparations for my people only. We the only ones not getting anything!
We want" but are unwilling to do what is necessary to get it.

You will receive nothing.
+CounterRevolutionary because racist like you still exist only to be found by the bumber of my car and to taste the Michelin's as I drive over you to create Racist Road Kill.
+The Groove Oooh, dats def; you should use dat in a poetry jam.
You're the ultimate troll bruh. Good gimmick
Why "IS" we Americans... spoken like a true illiterate.
It was deliberate. You would never understand LOL
The ellipse implies that you had further thought you chose to leave out of your sentence, clearly you don't understand punctuation because with a mind as closed as yours there couldn't have been any room for extra thoughts lingering in the ignorance of your sentence and misused ellipse.
So... an inbred white supremacist who probably peaked in high school is calling one of the greatest poets of modern times an illiterate? That's funny.
Poems don’t have to be literate or be grammatically correct, pretty sure you’re the illiterate one here.
I am saddened by the fact that it has taken me 45 years to have this brilliant genius. My eyes are open. He is outstanding may you RIP
