    I sing in a choir in Stockholm and recently we had an Estonian youth choir come and visit us to do a concert together and they finished with this song. I was speechless for minutes afterwards. Their conductor cried, our conductor cried, several people in both choirs and many in the audience cried as well. One of the most beautiful and heartbreaking pieces of music I’ve ever heard. Thank you for this video. Truly amazing!

    Listening to this beautiful song reminds me of the breathtaking long-lasting Nordic sunsets with slowly changing colors that I experienced so many times in Estonia. I am still moved by the beauty of these moments, the beauty of this song and the wonderful music of Pärt Uusberg. Suur tänu Prahast! ❤

    The Land of the Singing People. I was lucky to attend the Laulupidu once in 2004 without knowing anything about it before. It would be hard to describe with words what I felt there. Immediately fell in love with this country and its people.

    As an Estonian, it is me quite very hard to translate this song to an any foreign language.
    I had a cooperation partner from Germany, and he asked about this song , when i introduced our tradition of our culture.
    ...He dind not really understand, how come i could not translate those words to him..
    But thats how it is.

    Väga väga kena laul, aga tõesti, miks on mingisugust ragisemist kuulda?

      this song describes the mood of the summer evening followed by a night and after night comes the blessed morning

      it is untranslatable, just something for human soul, from Estonia.

    This is gorgeous, the music is so beautifully sung, and felt. HOWEVER, the dead eyes are giving me some serious Midsommar vibes.
    I'll stick to listening to this one, rather than watching!

    • @that_girl_hillary
      @that_girl_hillary Před rokem +1

      @@tonn333 like there's no soul behind them. They are just bodies, physically singing, but completely emotionally detached.

      It’s a peaceful song :) about the beauty of the evening (sun setting), so it’s actually very fitting, not about heartache or a fun wedding 🤷‍♀️ in which case there would be more emotion shown, imo

      To understand, what this piece of music means to local folks who sing it and why they look, like they have "dead eyes", you'd have to be Estonian! This is not a Pop song, it is sacred chant and when you feel that your heart breaks, cause the music is so sacred, how can you look entertaining! But since you are a foreigner, those things are hard to understand!
