When I do this , I make cards! It’s true that the "bad" pieces take on new life when cut into minis! It’s just plain fun!!
There are no bad pieces 😳😂😉 except when there are! And you're right, Dede, cutting them down makes magic 🥰

When you showed the reverse grid, I said out loud, ‘oh no, she’s going to cut it all up’! But, what a transformation and a great lesson in trust. The mini pieces are beautiful on their own and don’t think I could paint over them but am sure they would elevate to another level of gorgeousness, again a lesson in trust and experimenting.
The gel pulls are stunning as always especially the first one 😍.

This morning I got out a large piece of paper and drew the squares on and then painted. I had so much fun. I'm letting it dry before I cut it up.
I need to invest in some larger watercolour sheets. I used what I had but at the time it was more about the fun of it than the outcome. I really enjoyed myself. THANK YOU

Oh my! That painted paper turned out so beautifully. The depth and mystery you created really inspires me. And then those little squares... they each had such lovely compositions. ps: Thanks for sharing the link for your guillotine cutter. I have one that is very old and wasn't that fantastic a quality when it was new. I still use it all the time but struggle with it so I think it's time for an upgrade.

I am working my way threw all the shows I haven't seen yet. Remembering to like😉. I do have brush envy about that badger hair brush lol. I use the large synthetic makeup brush from the dollar store and do get some good blending results.
That's a great alternative, Cindy! Last year I tried using a men's badger shaving brush - I spent a lot of time pulling hair out of my paint 😂

This method is great for /often used for ATC’s (artist trading cards) too. Instead of 3x3 in, 2.5x3.5

Lovely video as usual! I have a question for you.... If someone has never used and can't afford fluid acrylics at the moment, would diluting regular acrylic paint in a little water give a similar effect? Thank you
Hi Chloé - Yes, you can mix with water, but be care with the proportions. You don't want the integrity of the paint to falter. Here is an interesting article on it from Golden Paint's blog justpaint.org/how-much-water-can-you-safely-add-to-acrylic-paint/

How do you keep the paper from buckling from the moisture. I am using a 140 lb all medias paper.
I use heavy watercolor paper 300 g (140 lb). If using a lighter weight paper, try gessoing the front and back of the paper first - it really helps!

What does the big, dry brush accomplish?
Hi Bonnie! The badger brush blends the glaze so that no brush or brayer marks remain. It can also blend out hard edges. 🥰
how can i make my acrylic paints "fluid"? do i just add water?
Hi Cynthia! You could add water to make your paints more fluid, or you could mix in a medium like Airbrush Medium. Just be care not to use too much of either so that you can maintain the integrity of the acrylic paint. 🥰
