Lindsay's mother was right. Rory was horrible.
Well, he was the cheating asshole!
Rory was not stealing someones husband -
Men are no handbags, he did not accidently fall in her bed.
She was stupid, yes. But not the one to blame. That is misogyny!
@@Mandara1847 If you bothered to watch the whole clip.. you see that he realized he made a mistake and was going to live with he did.. while Princess Rory still didn't think she did anything wrong.
@@Mandara1847Dean is more to blame but Rory willingly slept with a married man and then didn’t learn her lesson because she also slept with an engaged Logan. She is also the problem. Had she not known he was married she wouldn’t be at fault but that’s not the case. You’re right that she didn’t steal him though because that would absolve Dean of his major part in the cheating.
@@Mandara1847They are both disgusting Cheaters. Now you can’t claim sexism.
If Rory was willing to have an affair with a married man she should be willing to suffer the consequences of her actions
She didnt learn either not only is she having another affair with a marry man aka logan she is pregnant by him
🤷🤷So its her thing
That and cheating
@laurafabianmarrero logan is engaged, but your point is still valid. Rory still hasn't learned a thing. She is still a cheater, and she doesn't feel bad about it. Now she is pregnant with engaged man's baby. Funny thing is. She had a chance to marry logan after college, but she rejected him just like she broke up with Dean for Jess only only to sleep with Dean later while he was married. Rory didn't grow at all
@@lilmama121 enged?
Dont get It
The annoying thing is she doesn't. Like she lives in a small town and nobody even says anything except Lindseys mum. I wish Lindsey had confronted Rory herself.
@@XxMCRroxnonstopxX exactly
rory playing victim is absolutely wild
Can you tell me how she played the victim? I’m not trying to be mean I genuinely want to know 🙂
@@MrHappy3feet Once she told her mother that he was "her dean". That right there tells us everything we need to know.
@@MrHappy3feet pls rewatch the clip but: number one: everything in that letter. number 2: the entire time lindsay’s mom was talking, rory is just standing standing there… not one apology, nothing. pay close attention to her face. number 3: sleeping with your ex who is literally married and then talking shit about his wife (“lindsay’s not good for him, what does lindsay do) and then proceeding to saying “he’s my dean” (these scenes occurred a few prior i believe) i mean i could go on and on…
Is it just me that wanted to see the towns reaction when they realised Rory was the other woman?
Yes! Its super weird that none of the gossip queens said anything or Taylor I feel like he would have opinions 😅
I'd have liked to see that. Maybe if Rory experienced a fall from grace as The Angel if Stars Hollow, she might have learned some accountability. I can just imagine Babette rasping, "How did the town sweetheart become the town harlot?" 😂
Yeah, news tends to spread fast in smalls towns. Real life, i doubt Rory would be seen as an innocent good kid anymore.
Lorelei praising Rory for the letter after causing so much pain to Lindsey and her family is one of the reasons Rory became such a brat later on.
Agree. Lorelai and rory need to stop acting like they're such good people
Agreed. Emily was too critical of Lorelai, so Lorelai made the opposite mistake and wasn't critical enough of Rory.
This is what happens when one is raised sheltered and protected from living with the fall out of their mistakes. Dean realizes he was wrong for what he did, but Rory still thinks she is somewhat blameless
Theresa was correct about everything she said. Lindsay couldn’t even look at Rory.
She couldn't look at them because she was kinda horrified and embarrassed by her mom causing a public scene
Play stupid games win stupid prizes.
"i threw it all away for someone who already dumped me once" Lie. Dean broke up with Rory all 3 times they were together.
the second time only happened because she was clearly in love with jess and made It so obvious to dean he couldn't ignore it anymore
Its bullsh*t cause he chose to cheat on his wife. He followed Rory to her house told her his marriage was over and then throws it in her face. Nah mate. Rory was in the wrong but he blames it all on her even though he's in the wrong too.
@@XxMCRroxnonstopxXyeah I’m not condoning what Rory did but Dean was all butthurt that Rory wants out and blamed it on her while seeming like he was acknowledging his fault. Passive aggressive tbh.
Its always annoyed me that Lindsey didn't get to confront Rory cause her mum was too busy going off. Let the poor woman who's been wronged get a word (or a slap 🤷🏻♀️🤫) in! Also why wasn't the whole town talk about Rory being the other woman. They still sing her praises for being a saint after this.
Absolutely. Rory should have suffered a hard blow to her reputation in town. Maybe then she'd have learned from her mistakes and grown as a person. Instead, everyone just feeds her delusion that she's a good person.
It’s not like Dean backed away and went home. He is just as much at fault as Rory is in that affair maybe even more so. Because he’s the one that told Rory that he and Lindsay were done.
Which is why she kicked him out of the house. They didn't give either of them a pass. Honestly, I don't feel like this was an over reaction.
This was a bad situation all around. Rory should never have slept with Dean or allowed herself to get close to him again. They broke up, and he married someone else. If he was unhappy with his choice or allowing himself to be led down a path where he wouldn't be fulfilled, that's on him. But, at the same time, she realized when she had some time and distance that what they had done was wrong, and she did her best to mitigate the damage by writing a letter to Dean and walking away from him. At that point, it's all she could have done to rectify her mistake. Lorelai understood that and respected it.
Dean was the married one. He knew things were heating up between him and Rory. He should have backed off and respected his wife and his vows. Instead, he was trying to have his cake and eat it, too. I don't think he ever thought he was good enough for Rory. But that was his own imagining. It was never something Rory, Lorelai, or anyone else ever said to him. So, he blatantly lied to Rory about the state of his marriage and then went home to his wife (as a backup in case things didn't work out). That's terrible behavior. When he got the letter, he knew it was over between him and Rory. Instead of destroying it and making things right with his wife (even if he didn't tell her he cheated), he "allowed" the letter to be found and the dirty work to be done for him. This is the part in the series that always bothered me the most. Everyone acted like Dean was a victim in this situation. Like Rory went after him. She didn't. He was the one who broke up with her three different times. He was the one who dated and married a woman he knew he didn't love or respect.
Then, there is Lindsey. On one hand, she did nothing to deserve the behavior she got. She married Dean and did all she could to be the wife she thought he wanted. This was spurred on by her clueless and pushy mother. The main issue is that their marriage was doomed from the start. She was clearly the rebound girl for Dean. Rory or not, he would have woken up one day and realized Lindsay wasn't who he wanted. I think, deep down, she knew this. It's why she tried so hard to be the perfect wife. Dean needed someone to be a real partner with him, an equal who wanted the same things he wanted and someone willing to work by his side to achieve their dreams. That was neither Rory (because Dean felt her goals were loftier than he could ever keep up with) nor Lindsay (a spoiled, naive girl who never considered getting a job to help her husband buy the lifestyle she wanted).
In the end, they all got what they deserved. Rory got the scarlet woman treatment (which she clearly didn't learn a lesson from if you watch A Year in the Life), Dean had to move back in with his parents and got to experience a very public and embarrassing divorce (something he did learn a lesson from as he is married happily with kids in A Year in the Life), and Lindsay learned to pay attention to the red flags when you see them and likely found herself a man who could be what she wanted and allow her the lifestyle she needed (which we don't know for sure).
He also manipulated Rory.
I wish we got to see where Lindsey ended up in A Year in the Life. I'd like to think she ended up happy, whether that be with a college education and a career, a husband and children, or both. Out of the three, she deserved a happy ending the most.
I really hate Rory because she has a habit of cheating and she really lacks self awareness with guys and knowing how to create distance, but the adultery was completely Dean's fault. He saw that she was vulnerable and kept trying to be in her life instead of appreciating his wife. The marriage was doomed from the start because he was still in love with Rory. It was only after he blew everything that he realized Rory is just like everyone else and he was able to happily move forward. Rory's main mistake was calling him on spring break.
Rory is just standing there silent, acting like she is the victim. Doesn't seem to show any remorse. No apology or trying to take any accountability. I appreciated that a couple of episodes before, Lorelai didn't treat Rory like the perfect daughter who does no wrong, and she makes a point that Dean is not "Rory's Dean" anymore; that Dean is now "Linday's Dean." Rory is the other woman. I also like Lindsay's mom standing up for her daughter.
Anyone else notice Rory and Lindsey had the exact same haircut, hanging their heads while their mothers are in a public shouting match?
Lorelai acted like she wouldn't act the same way if someone did the same thing to her daughter.. and also rory mentioned she didn't regret that night happened in the letter and lorerai said it was a good letter just because rory pulled herself out of it???
Rory 🙄 Such a strumpet!
Finally somebody telling Rory off.
I don't really get people being pissed at Lorelai. I'm pretty sure Lorelai did say something to Rory when she first found out about her sleeping with Dean. I haven't seen the episode in awhile but I'm pretty sure she made it pretty clear that Rory and Dean were in the wrong.
At the end of the day, Rory's her kid, of course she's gonna defend her, which isn't the same as defending or condoning her actions. I'm guessing she loves her daughter even when she royally fucks up lol
It also feels weird that people seem to be more angry at Rory than Dean. She should've said no, but also he was the one who broke his vows, plus he pursued her. The onus was on him not to cheat.
And Rory tried to do the right thing in the end (even though yeah it took her longer than it should've to realize it was wrong since at first she tried to defend herself to Lorelai). Maybe it was a little too late since obviously it never should've happened in the first place, but at least she knew it was wrong and ended it. At that point, what else could you expect Lorelai to say? Lindsay and her family are absolutely entitled to their anger. But I'm not sure what people expect from Lorelai. To just keep piling on?
I fully agree, very well put. I don't understand people only blaming Rory when Dean is just as much or even more to blame because of the reasons you stated.
She did say something to Rory when she found out, she was very disappointed and I think she literally told her that wasn't who she thought she was because Dean was a married man. Which is when Rory threw her tantrum that Dean was hers first.
It was just a bad situation all around but Dean and Rory were doomed from the start, they had little in common and rewatching the earlier seasons he didn't seem to have much direction outside of wanting to be with Rory, and then he threw himself into a marriage because he just wanted to be married. Dean needed a lot of growing up and at least by A Year in the Life he got it
I agree Lorelai's maternal instinct is to defend her child. But when Lindsey's mom said "She broke up a marriage, are you proud?" Lorelai should have answered, "No, I'm not, but she's still my daughter, so back off." Instead she says, "She didn't break up a marriage." Speaking up for Rory is one thing, but denying Rory did anything wrong is another. She could (and should) have acknowledged that yes, Rory did a shitty thing, but as her mother, she still won't stand for a public verbal assault.
You know Lindsay's mom definitely didn't call Rory a "monster" 😂, I'm sure another choice word regarding her promiscuity was used instead.
It takes two to tango, and both were in the wrong, why is Rory being drag alone, Dean is ultimately responsible. Both of them young and stupid and had a complicated relationship. He was her 1st love she was his and he still loves her.
I really hated lorelai here
yes
Ick.
On the one hand Lindsay’s mom is right that Rory was wrong but then again Lindsay was the most single handed self absorbed selfish person I have ever seen in a tv show
Lame Lindsay was self absorbed for wanting her husband to be the breadwinner. Whoever heard of a wife wanting her husband to take care of her? This isn't the 50's! Like seriously get a freaking job already. Have a career instead of depending on your husband to provide!
#BabyMamaProgramming
🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🤢
How was she selfish? For being a housewife, which is exactly the kind of wife Dean wanted?
@@queencleopatra007 for expecting her 19-year-old husband to buy her a townhouse. For pitching a tantrum because she was bored at home while he was working all those overtime hours to try and buy said house. It doesn't take all day to keep a house clean especially with no kids. Little missy needed to get off her ass and at least work part time.

@@laurafabianmarrero It's sarcasm. Rory is ALWAYS the victim in every situation. Remember the time she called the ballet dancer a hippo? And Rory somehow turned it into "I was just doing my job, it's not my fault uWu"
Edit: One of my favorite victimhood episode was during a year in the life when Rory was having an affair with Logan and Logan tells her she can't stay in the flat because Odette (his fiance) was staying over so Rory threw a fit because she felt like she was getting tossed to the side lmao
@@vanessav.4996 got It 👍
@@vanessav.4996 Wasn't it Rory's job to review the ballet?Of course she could have been nicer about it but the editor of the newspaper still printed her story with her description of the ballerina as a hippo right?
@@aph1976it was the fact that she didn’t even write a review of the performance. She described how the ballerina looked in her costume. Yes Doyle printed it but Rory didn’t feel bad that she was mean in the article about someone’s weight.
I’m glad they slept together I hate Lindsey she had no right to read dean’s letter or go through his things
I think she had every right. But she could have handled it better. I think she suspected anyways. The letter confirmed it is all
Go through his things? Really she was probably doing his laundry. When you do laundry you check the pockets to make sure theres nothing in them. Dean wanted a traditional house wife and thats what Lindsey was and now you're hating in her for nothing.
The cheater got caught because his housewife, the exact sort of wife he explicitly wanted, was [gasp!] doing laundry! Spare me. I'm fairly sure that Lindsey's "Huh, what's this letter?" is a significantly lesser offense that Dean *repeatedly sleeping with his ex.*
Married is married. If Dean had manned up, divorced Lindsay then pursued Rory, even though they were never going to work out either, that's one thing. Pursuing Rory when he wasn't even legally separated, let alone divorced--not cool, nit at all.
She was his WIFE.
