Seriously ppl commenting there's no silicone or sealer within the bolts..
Are they the same ppl that don't realise it's just a basic simplicity demo, and don't actually realise it's not a real boat 🤔

Why no sealant around the bolts?

Thanks for the video. Would butyl tape work as well as the caulk? Wondering if there are advantages/disadvantages? Also, I assume the anchor swings far enough out when it's released for the anchor point to miss the hull? Thanks!

Hi Pat, thanks for the feed back. I'm sure the tape would keep the water from sneaking into the mounting holes, but I'm not so sure it would handle the UV rays near the edges of the roller. I'm also not sure how the clean it would look on the edges of the roller once the mounting bolts sandwiched the tape. If you decide to go that route let us know how it turns out.
Regarding the anchor, when dry mounting the anchor and just before you mark the mounting holes with a pencil, rest the anchor in the bow roller until it hits the lead roller. Then slide the roller aft on the deck until the point of the anchor is between 2 - 3" from hitting the boat. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Our mistake and you are correct- we should have used silicone!

No sealant in the bolt holes? Is there a rubber washer under the bolt head?

No, it was our mistake- we should have used silicone around the bolts.

Hi Niko, please send pics to info@darkhorsemarine.com and I’ll have a look. Send top, side and inside the anchor looker. Have a get day.

What fixings would you go for if you couldn’t gain access to the under side?
