    I can imagine this level of customization being life-changing for those who really need it, but even my ergonomics-sensitive able body could use some of this. The ability to customize the shape of my mouse with a 3d-printed "hull" instead of returning entire mice out over and over again until I find one that's the right size would be great. I'm looking forward to see how these develop.

    The co-initiator of this project is John Helmes, senior designer at Microsoft and father of Jara, a student at Ulingshof Venlo.
    We are very proud that we as Adelante Ulingshof (child rehabilitation) and Ulingshof OG Buitengewoon (special education) have been able to contribute to this and are convinced that this offers many students a solution in their digital skills, possibilities and experience.

    That's great and all but only helps some. None of the things listed help others of us with different problems, not that I would really know what to do. I for one, and I know plenty of others, who can't feel our fingers. Try typing when you can't feel the keys. Four letter words suddenly become 7 or 8 letter words. Happens all the time in single finger hunt and peck mode as well. To top it off I'm a hard-core gamer who can't feel the keys to stay alive while playing games. I do pretty well considering, but that's probably because I've been gaming since green screen apples and I'm pretty good at adapting. There are days though when things just will not go right and i have to quit so I don't go completely mental. Was hoping something here would apply, but low and behold nothing There are thousands of us out there. I know of at least five in my town, probably lots more. Very glad to see somethings being done though. Be nice to be on an even playing field for the first time in forever. Not born with it but have been dealing with it for around 25 years. Effects more than just the hands but not relevant to this article. Here's to hoping one day there will be something for people like me.

    • @WrektSK
      @WrektSK Před 2 lety

      Hey man, condolences for your the issues you face. I can't imagine having to type and play games with no feelings to the fingers honestly, and I wouldn't wish that on some one even I hate.
      But to put it very bluntly, this is just the beginning. Microsoft is rolling the ball on a larger scale than most others have tried in the past. The kind of problem you have is rather advanced and challenging to fix, and it's going to take years down the line to find a solution for. So all I can tell you is to have a little bit more patience, maybe one day there will be something for people like you. Have a good one!

    • @wallydogg4496
      @wallydogg4496 Před 2 lety

      @@WrektSK Honestly you just need to talk to us. I have ideas that have helped that I'm try to improve on and I'm sure others do as well, but thx for the reply. I doubt I'll ever see anything in my lifetime. but that's not going to stop me from doing what I love ( or one of the few things I can do either (can't feel my feet either so sports is kinda out of the question}), but it really is nice to hear that someone is trying to do something. It may not be for me, but if it helps others.... well I'm good.
