    I have the santa fe version. And I think I have a similar problem. As soon as I took the shell off I saw grease all over

    I call them Clicker I've always noticed it's best if you oil them gears before you even try to put Power on it. I've had the dry old grease crack the gears. Before I even got the train operational again. Save me a few times anyway

    Had you tried to superGlue the cracked vinyl gears to their spindles? I imagine that if they were fully cleaned with mineral spirits then the glue would take.

    Just acquired the same model, both intermediate gears (that connect to the wheel axles) have split - one failed completely, the other has been CA glued.
    Not Bachmanns best work.
