Love seeing Mamadiou Diarra on the coaching staff. Was a classy move by Hurley to keep him around. I imagine he reminds them daily how long it took to get back to this level of talent and stature compared to the end of the KO era.
Say what you want about Walton. Yea he can definitely be annoying and at times has no idea what he's talking about but I absolutely love his positivity and how likes to encourage these young men. That's definitely a joy to hear coming out of his mouth. I'm in love with this team. I didn't what to expect with Joey California but the kid just knows how to play ball. Besides all this, my question is, once Samson gets healthy, what's his role? Depth at center, ok but like, does he play at all in a normal rotation or only when Clingan or Sanogo has foul trouble? Too talented to sit on the bench so what do you do with him? I'm having the feeling where if he isn't playing 15-20 a game, he's gone at the end of the season. But what do I know lol. #UConn
Ranked #8. Undefeated. 8-0. Great start UConn. Winning differently is the key. This team is very special. Fantastic contributors all over the court. Great distributors. Swarming defense. A very well balanced team. It fun to watch a team as talented as this UConn team. On a game like this where they did not have their A game, they still won by a good margin. I would still like them to get a 100 a game against any opponent. I know unique matchups will arise but this team is better than the rest. They've got the perfect combinations of players at each position to exploit match up weaknesses on the court. PKI won. Now grab more hardware with a Big East title next and get to that #1 ranking. One step at a time. Mission accomplished. Go Huskies! Love this team. Great players who are playing with fantastic energy and swag.
