Florida is much better than their record shows. From the onset of this tug of war, the teams were trading blows until UConn wrestled the game away with swarming defense in the 1st half. UConn’s defense just got after it. I was not really impressed with the 15 turnovers that UConn had, but Florida is not a bad team at all. UF closed out really well when UConn was attempting errant lobs, or intercepting the passing lanes. Joey California was highly efficient and is playing fantastic for UConn. Clingan was a beast inside, 8 for 9 on FG’s. He’s our Travis Knight or Jake Voskuhl - which means we are going to be winning a lot of games this year. Jackson was making plays after plays. He’s got that Iceman Gervin kind of athleticism, and with a cleaner stroke could be a lock for the first round in the 2024 NBA draft. Sanogo scores 17 in only 20 minutes. The Hawk got his 15, albeit on some volume shooting. I'd like him to get into rhythm as this teams Rip Hamilton or Rudy Gay. Newton is the most unique player I’ve watched in a long time. He is actually the best thing for this UConn squad, because his tempo is sort of like a Chris Paul. He just goes right into defenders and jams up the lanes with double teams, finding the open man. Just needs to take care of the ball a little bit better. He’s not a Shabazz or a Kemba with the pizzaz, but his tempo fits UConn’s high-powered offense incredibly well. A 21-point win against an underrated Florida team is impressive for UConn. Though it could have easily been a 30 point blowout. UConn is 10-0 and will be #1 very soon. They just need to keep getting better and not take the foot of the pedal. Big East champs and Final Four here we come

Clingan is definitely a lottery pick. I think he stays until his sophomore year. We'll see. However, if they want him in the first round in the 2023 Draft, he should go.
