    I really love your channel because it contains all real world info and you waste no time. Thank you a lot for all the help you are providing with these videos,.
    I have 1 question: By your opinion, what should i be able to do (example of some projects) to have some kind of indication that my level of knowledge is ready for my first job as DevOps engineer.

    So it would be like a plug and play?
    Like throw your applications to an automated pipeline/system/platform that provides it with all the devops aspects: spin up infra, build the ci/cd, set monitoring, logging and security...
    So basically the automation of automations, the automation of devops in a platform.

      That's a pretty good analogy. You assemble the infra components your team needs and allow them to be consumed in a self-service platform.

    Wanted to ask that devops vs software eng,
    1-which jobs involve more algorithm+math?
    2-which one has more jobs available in market and is safer route?

    • @DevOpsForDevelopers
      @DevOpsForDevelopers  Před 10 měsíci

      1. It's pretty minimal in both unless you are working on huge projects, but Software Eng
      2. Depends on your area, check local job listings and talk to folks. Both are pretty stable.

    Hi, I've been working from past 1.8years as a developer but I'm in maintenance project which isn't making me confident in development. so I'm planning to switch to devops is it right decision .
    Just need your opinion

    but what do we need to learn to become platform engineer? how do i develop a small platform let's say that can self serve? do I need to have terraform files beforehand and load up these files based on the user input?
    can you please recommend a good terraform course as well? thanks a lot

    So i guess it is like change of name from DevOps Engineer to Platform Engineer nothing else , with more of Iaac and Caac

    • @DevOpsForDevelopers
      @DevOpsForDevelopers  Před rokem +1

      Yeah, ultimately, with a bit more focus on letting your software teams self-serve, but without you being a bottleneck.

    Hello friend, I hope you are well.
    What Linux distributions do you use to create servers and on a day-to-day basis? I hope you don't answer me ubuntu that installs 2000 packages hahahaha.

    Why do we need DevOps when we have vercel?

    • @DevOpsForDevelopers
      @DevOpsForDevelopers  Před rokem +1

      Great question! Vercel is an excellent solution. As your app grows in scale and complexity, other factors come into play that may influence your hosting decisions.
      With Vercel, databases, message queues, and other infrastructure are done through 3rd party integrations. This may mean a hop over the public internet to access these services. Moving to GCP, AWS, or other cloud providers allows hosting these services geographically close to your app and on private infrastructure, which can benefit performance and security.
      Cost can be another influencing factor. As your app grows, you can significantly reduce costs by using a cloud provider like AWS, GCP, or Azure and handling the DevOps/infra yourself.
