With that $4000 fridge I say the delivery company that sent out two people with nothing like the correct equipment or training should eat the cost. I mean all they had was a fucking strap. No moving blankets, no straps, no dolly and no ramps. The fridge should have been strapped closed with a moving blanket protecting the screen and on a dolly with a ramp to go up the stairs. Either those two guys royally fucked up or they were under equipped and under-trained.
yep definitely this. Worked as a mover as a summer job during college and a shoulder dolly is probably not the most secure for something that tall and heavy lmao. Shoulder dollies are great but not for everything
Ikr, I've had fridges delivered before that I bought and every time it would only be just 1 guy but 1 guy with the proper type of dolly, straps, etc. A big fridge with the right dolly and strays can be moved up steps by one male np. These guys should not be working for a company making them risk blowing out their backs by not having proper equipment.
I sold fridges like that at a big retail store for years. We had loads of complaints about damages during delivery. At least in our country tough, you sign papers after its delievered aknowledging a good delivery. If the movers damage it during delivery, the client just needs to refuse to sign and the movers literally have to take it back and bring a new one. Who pays for the damage is the problem, IM sure the company screwed the workers somehow. We usually asked for an extra team (so 4 people) when we sold those, problem is many times the company that handled deliveries wouldnt follow through on that. Those bitches can weight up to 130kgs at least. Now imagine taking one of those up a couple flight of stairs... :S
Never mind that they usually come in a box with foam or cardboard inside to prevent damage.
@@sithus1966 Also another thing. The movers could only unpackage the fridge when it was inside the buyers house and most times already in the kitchen. Until then it had to stay in the box. If the buyer wanted it out of the box to be easier to go up stairs ofr something it was at the buyers peril.

3:14 tempered glass furniture - is rarely fully tempered. As a result it's luck of the draw as to whether or not you get a sheet of it which will quite literally shatter without warning and seemingly for no reason. When fully tempered the glass has been heated and slowly cooled in such a way that that it's been completely normalized, if done improperly then the glass itself has internal stresses which can, as seen there, cause the pane to spontaneously disassemble.
You described how to make annealed glass (no internal stresses). Tempered glass is cooled quickly so the outside is locked into a shape appropriate for high temperature glass (i.e. bigger than room temperature). As the inside cools, it pulls the outside in, compressing the outside glass and making it incredibly strong (glass is fragile under tension, but monstrously strong under compression). Because it's under compression, to fracture it requires you to put enough force on it to first overcome that compression, before you can start to put it under tension and fracture it.
Because of the high internal stresses, if you do manage to crack it (sometimes just a scratch is enough), the entire thing shatters in a cascade failure. Look up Prince Rupert's Drops. Those are pieces of glass sometimes strong enough to withstand a direct hit by a bullet. But snap the extremely thin tail and the entire thing shatters.

I don't see an explanation elsewhere in the comments for 3:02, so here we go! Glass tables are made of tempered glass, to the last. This confers much greater strength, which is very important when support is minimal and force is applied normal to the face. Glass is tempered by heating the whole thing up and cooling the skin down significantly more rapidly than the core. This results in the skin being in compression while the core is in expansion. Glass is much stronger in compression so it can take it, and "raising the stakes" in that way means that any flexion applied to the finished product will be less significant as a percentage. Thus, increased strength. However, the opposing internal forces are fairly delicately balanced. Any nick or scratch of the surface can disrupt its integrity enough that the skin will essentially unwrap from the core, which allows the core to explode outward - much like a water balloon. Because of the nature of the glass, the transition itself is incredibly fast, but the internal strain buildup can be very slow. Thus, a scratch from a coffee mug or a dropped fork can cause critical damage, but the im/explosion can occur hours later, for seemingly no reason. Yay physics!

You can make racial jokes with friends that would be super fucked up to say in front of strangers. Your friend has known you for years, so knows you aren't racist, strangers only see this single moment out of context that makes you look pretty racist on its own.
That particular clip was just silly and obviously a joke, though. Only the most humourless people will get offended by that.
