    Wow great in depth review. Details many others dont cover! Too bad the heatsync cant be removed for not just conformal coasting but also for smaller builds that wont be drawing near the max amperage.

    I am pretty new to FPV I have just been flying box-built drones for a long time I am building a 10" for semi-long range but trying to do it on a budget just to get started so would this work OK for me? Or should I run 8S? I only have a frame and a Radiomaster Boxer right now so I am pretty green at this and there is so much info out there it is overwhelming. Thanks for all your info, I enjoy the channel and am learning slowly.

      A 10" is big enough that people start having discussion's about using a 4in1 or single esc's. It'll depend a bit on the motor size, kv and prop choice. If you are going with lower kv motors and not anything too powerful it might be able to stand up to it. But generally for a 10 inch you're going to want to step up the parts quality and get a really good esc because 10" props take some BIG motors to spin properly. 8s would be good for 10" but it'll also be more expensive as well. It should be ok with 6s if you're on a budget. Just make sure your getting the right kv of motor.

      @@FalconRadFPV Awesome thank you for the feedback, I just needed someone to tell me to dive in head first and go down the rabbit hole as I do with every hobby haha, so what ESC should I step up to? What is a few hundred extra bucks? lol I know I am going to go nuts anyway I was trying to make myself think I wasn't

    😮 it's expensive at these times for 405.. remember these were sold for 25-30$ and no one buy them because of 722 hype.

    You mentioned to load BLuejay onto this ESC. I know Bluejay 0.20.0 has a problem so it is still safe to put 0.19.2 on it?

    • @FalconRadFPV
      @FalconRadFPV  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Sorry not sure, I've never used Bluejay firmware before. But I would think using the previous version should work. A lot of my gear is still one or two firmware versions behind the most recent. I like to make sure the bugs have all been found before switching to a firmware.

      @@FalconRadFPV OK so you just leave it as Blheli_S?

    Do you know how to utilize the 8 motor setup? I only see 4 motor mounts

    • @FalconRadFPV
      @FalconRadFPV  Před 7 měsíci

      on the reverse side from the esc plug there are solder points for M5, M6, M7 and M8 those are for the other four motors. Four are connected through the plug to one ESC and the other four solder points (motors 5 to 8) connect to a second ESC along with the ESC telemetry and a ground. There is a dotted line box drawn on the FC around this section.

    Is it worth it? Seems like everyone's doing f7. Is this just for budget. Is the f7 drastically better

    • @FalconRadFPV
      @FalconRadFPV  Před 8 měsíci

      Bl heli 32 firmware is a bit better, but as for f4 or f7 on the FC it just means you can't run 8k dshot600 with rpm filter, but 4k dshot600 with rpm filter is just fine. But ya I do prefer a blheli32 ESC over a blheli S ESC with bluejay firmware. That said, if you're going to just bang up a freestyle basher then a budget stack sounds good to me as long as the ESC holds out.

    F405 not sure why we are still venturing them nice review though man. I found the speedy bee app never updates fast enough also to keep current changes on the bleeding edge. Config issue and unwanted changes to config when using to newer release
