The Balbonne, Llauses and Estagnet ponds: loop hike (Donezan, Orlu reserve)

Going hiking in Donezan, a mountainous territory in the south-east of Ariège, means immersing yourself in the wild beauty of the Pyrenees, with magnificent lakes, panoramic peaks and intense flowering in early summer. Not far from the Laurenti pond and the Rabassoles ponds, the best known in Donezan, other bodies of water are well worth a detour, or even a hike in their own right!
The hike proposed in this video is doable for a day, but we chose to go on this loop over two days in order to have a nice bivouac and to experience our route more intensely. We were served, with a wet ascent towards the Balbonne pond, first, where we were greeted by the storm. Then, the next day, above the clouds, we entered the Orlu national wildlife reserve and contemplated the Orlu tooth and an extraordinary sea of ​​clouds over the valley, up to the Llauses pond. Finally, we returned to the Donezan side and descended through the flowering rhododendrons towards the Estagnets pond.
Three ponds, very little used paths, immense panoramas over Ariège, this hike in Donezan totally won us over, and I am delighted to show you the most beautiful images.
