The ELF Cleansing Balm has just enough fragrance to sting my sensitive eyes but did remove everything without stripping my barrier. Their Pure Skin Cleanser is really good as is the Pure Skin moisturizer and the Holy Hydration fragrance free moisturizer...in my humble opinion.
It would be so cool if you partnered with Target to create your own advent calendar with trial sizes of your recommended products!

I always love a Target shopping trip! That up and up Advanced repair lotion you show at 11:30 is one of my favorites. I actually mix it with fragranced body lotion so I can still get the sensory pleasure of the fragrance without irritating my skin. The scented body lotion I'm using right now is hempz birthday cake. I am addicted to it, it smells divine. Plus it makes the bottle of scented lotion last twice as long. It mixes really well with any other lotion. Highly recommend!
I saw in Ulta hemp has a fragrance free version now. I want to try it 😅

I like the e.l.f. Invisible sunscreen better than the Whoa Glow. It's very similar to the the viral Trader Joe's sunscreen. Gel like, clear, matte - very nice. Easier for me to get than the TJ version.

The ELF cleansing balm is great the fragrance doesn't bother me because the product isn't staying on my face. I highly recommend this product

Hooked on Tree Hut for sure. I put the body wash in all my hand soap dispensers because I love the scent so much and it keeps my hands from drying out.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that does that. They make great hand washes.

9:29 re: the elf power grip primer. I have tried this primer, and it is similar to the Milk Hydrogrip primer. Keep in mind that it is sticky/tacky (so don't grab it if you dislike those primers). It will feel less tacky once your foundation is applied. In terms of affordable primer, though, I prefer the original elf poreless putty primer.

i stocked up on my skincare from target saturday too! was so sad to see the vanicream daily moisturizer go so high up in price! i’ve bought it in the past multiple times for $12.99 and at my store it was $18.99 (super target by nrg! i’m in houston too!)😓

I use the Vanicream Moisturizing lotion - I love it 🥰 The cream was abit too heavy for my skin, the Moisturizing lotion is similar to the cream just a lighter texture 🥰 The other product - the Facial moisturizer with SPF 30 is another favorite too. I have that ELF power grip primer and use it in my t-zone (since it gets pretty oily) when I want my makeup to last longer. I have it in that small $5 size and it’s lasted me awhile.
Dr dray I love your content, any help for us men who are on accutane and get a lot of acne in our beard area to help soothe and properly clean during the accutane process it’s so painful I cry myself to sleep and have taken 4 weeks off of work because I just can’t be seen. (In London thankfully). Love the content as always you’re looking so happy and glowing ❤. I know if one person can help us guys with painful acne in beards during treatment it’s you. (Have been unable to shave for 10 years just trim or using scissors)
I don't know if this works outside the US, but pharmacists are knowledgeable as to product ingredients, if you'll ask for help. If you're embarrassed, try speaking on the phone, but it must be about a product in their store. I hope this helps.
@@PAMELAPORTER-ci7mrthanks for taking the time to respond - the only thing I’ve found to help is a very weak diluted peroxide solution and sponge my beard area with it. It’s not ideal but of course you have to try to kill as much bacteria as possible being as you can’t properly wash that area of your face because it’s going to irritate the hair follicles 😢. Let’s hope accutane works its thing in the next 6 months
@@czhaokwish I could send you some advice, I can’t, but I feel for you. Years ago I had a student with severe acne and she missed so much time because she was embarrassed to be seen. I understand the suffering this causes, I hope Dr Dray has some good advice for you.
I’m so sorry you’re going through this!! I don’t know if you get the cetaphil gentle clear line in the UK but their SA and BP cleansers are the most gentle I’ve found.
That sounds like your further drying your skin out. She has a video on accutane and the products you can use while on it. I would just do a gentle cleanser.

I use the elf niacinamide power grip primer. I think it helps with my texture issues (I have some deep scars on my forehead as well as large-ish pores on my nose). More so, I find it beneficial with preventing my makeup from disappearing throughout the day, especially with my frequent tissue use. However, I do also set my makeup with the elf mattifying setting spray, so I cannot say for sure that it is all about the primer!
Aside from the primer and setting spray, changes to my AM skincare routine has also played a part. For my skin, I’ve learned that “less is more” when it comes to the skincare products I’m using before makeup. When I was using an excessively complicated AM routine, I constantly had piling despite using small amounts of products. After I reduced the number of products I use in the AM, I’ve found that make makeup is less cakey and more natural looking by, I have less creasing under my eyes, my texture issues are less enhanced, and I rarely turn into a greasy mess!
For me, just a a light eye cream and a sunscreen provide enough hydration for my base. After I let those set in, I dab my skin to remove any oily residue and follow with the power grip primer. I use one pump and press into the skin, paying close attention to my nose and forehead problem spots. I follow with my foundation and the rest of my makeup, then give myself a heavy dose of the elf mattifying spray. So far, I haven’t needed to add a morning moisturizer this winter, but will have one on standby! As a side note: I really like Peach Slices snail rescue oil free moisturizer because of how beautifully it absorbs into the skin! No grease! 🎉

Vaseline Deep Moisture Body Cream is my everything lotion😂. Including for the kids at night after outside in the winter cold. Best stuff ever. ❤

When I used power grip it was no joke and I couldn't get my foundation to go on smoothly because of the literal grip. So many people love it so much that it makes me want to try again..IDK
You don't really need primer unless you want to cover pores, etc, and or want your makeup to really stay all day. It helps your skin, like a clean canvas for makeup.

I have the ELF sunscreen setting spray. I use it over my regular sunscreen and the small amount of makeup I wear. More as a backup.

Yes I use the e.l.f. Matte putty primer underneath my eyeshadow and it really makes a difference. My eyeshadow does not crease with this primer.

I use body lotion on my face it is so much cheaper than buying a little face cream Plus what they tend to charge for those little containers a face cream is normally the same price as body lotion and you get way more product

I got the elf sunscreen spray, but i use jt more for the makeup setting aspect than the sunscreen (i use it more like a touch up thing, and always have a proper coat of a cream/lotion sunscreen on underneath!)

I haven't tried the e.l.f. power grip primer, but I have used milk hydro grip and marshmellow grip primer from nyx. I love the tree hut candy cane. Nice scent and rinses well. Native candy cane line is also good.

I have tried all the elf skincare and was not impressed . Better skincare at the drugstore like vanicream, la Roche, aveeno and cetaphil
I have found the Elf products, purchased at a drugstore to work wonderfully. The cleansing balm, sunscreen,.....
We all have different skin reactions.

Target's my favorite for basic beauty products. I was surprised by the up & up advanced repair lotion recommendation. I've always read that petroleum & paraben products aren't healthy? Is that no longer accurate? Thanks!
It's never been accurate. Dermatologists constantly say petrolatum is great for skincare and paraben are a preservative that prevents mold

Cleanser may burn, but they do not cause milia. The burning may be related to formulation or particular ingredient sensitivities

Did Vanicream change the formula for their cream? I bought the cream a couple of weeks ago and it was drying, waxy/chalky. I threw it away I just couldn’t use it. Maybe it was a bad bacth.
Brands to change formulas without notice usually. It can be due to not being able to get ahold of ingredients or increase in price of said ingredients.
I have rosacea with dry skin on my face, so I got vanicream to try and it stung. :(

I use elf hydrogrip primer i like it a lot. Makes my makeup look better. Just saturate your face with it.
I have dry, sensitive, rosacea prone skin and I wanted to love vanicream so badly. It irritates my skin. Still trying to find a good moisturizer.
I hated it on my face. Same skin type. The cetaphil cream in a tub is my HG. I don’t even remember why I tried it but it’s been a life saver.
Yea. I used it on my legs and it was so occlusive to the point it was irritating. I wish I didn't because my legs weren't particularly dry at the time

Elf power grip primer is among the worst primers. Dont do it. I swear by my primers. However I only like the more expensive ones. Bare minerals or Laura mercier.Mercier. oddly, happy to use less expensive items in many categories. Not that one apptly!

Which facial bar from Neutrogena are you using? When I had some irritation from using skin care products, from a home based party many years ago the Dermatologist that I saw at that time recommended the Neutrogena facial bars, just using this amber colored bar cleared my face up within a few weeks. Since then I've been using the Neutrogena brand 😊

She prefers fragrance free and at least one bar from Neutrogena is. I found it slightly drying and be careful it literally melts in the shower because it's glycerin based. Try to keep it dry as much as possible

should we avoid t-butyl and behenyl alcohol in skincare if we have sensitized skin barrier ? i heard t-butyl is a fragrant alcohol / drying?

I noticed that 5th ingredient is alcohol. Any views from your side. I found a good deal on Black Friday but still not sure if I should keep it
If you like the product and it works for you... See her video on alcohols in skincare (Lab Muffin has videos on them as well). Her usual issue with brands like this is the fragrance in the products and the cost compared to what could be found in the drugstore or something like k-beauty.

Drugstore brands like e.l.f., versed, pacifica, byoma, bubble are CF and are some she's mentioned in her shopping videos. As for the Cerave purple night cream, not sure about drug store brands but skinfix and inkey list both have lipid creams and inkey list, acure and skinfix both have peptide creams.
I try to shop cruelty free, ELF is CF and the Holy Hydration Fragrance Free is my favorite evening moisturizer. I like Accure Radically Rejuvenating Whipped Night Cream too. That’s the only Accure product I’ve tried, I know many people love that brand and it’s CF.
