It looks like a square if you do it in serum.
but originally an 808 comes from the roland 808 which is a drum machine, and the way they came up with the sound is by pitching down the drum sound until it sounded like that.
So like a simple kick becomes a loud booming noise if you pitch down enough.
you can make 808s by using a bass with a little distortion
