  • Hey everyone!
    Since Halloween just passed and i inadvertently made a pretty sick Halloween costume i figured it's time for an update!
    The suit is...Done! (ish)!
    The electronics work! I can wear it all! The helmet is motorized! Its just awesome and amazing and i can't even begin to express how happy i am!
    The level of "Complete" from the last update video to now is huge and i apoligize for that leap. Defeintly could have used another update in between this but hopefully this video explains enough!
    I think next update video i'll break down the electronics even more to really show how the systems work in more detail for you all! As well as a full-real time suit up!
    Here is the Mark 85 V5 Helmet from Akira Yumming!

    Here is the Crashworks Helmet Motorization kit!:www.thingiverse.com/thing:460...

    Also HUGE thank you to Every Man Jack for sending me those nerdy awesome products!

    im working on a mk6 suit myself but im glad to see that the thought i had of being able to have a simple system that can still work without a arduino system ...can be done i appreciate you continuing making these videos you've given me more confidence of completing my mk6 suit without knowing code

    The second helmet stop switch you can put in the back of the front(gold) so when it go's up it will stop as soon it touches the top (red)

  • @DynamicEllie
    @DynamicEllie Před 3 lety +4

    To tell the helmet to stop opening, add a strong magnet to the top corner of the faceplate where it goes near the helmet when opening. Put a NORMALY CLOSED reed switch inside the helmet. As the faceplate opens, the magnet will trigger the NC reed, opening it, breaking the circuit in the same way a limiter switch does.
    Your work is beautiful btw. I love your outside the box thinking. I am an arduino nerd myself, but your "no-code" method is genius. I hope my reed suggestion helps in some way. I think it would be much easier to use a reed instead of a limiter switch due to that flick at the end of the faceplate opening. I'll get a video of my Arduino rescue helmet on my own channel eventually. I haven't uploaded in forever.

    • @FranklyBuilt
      @FranklyBuilt  Před 3 lety +2

      That is PERFECT! Dude to the helper arm actually stopping halfway through the opening I can’t add a limit switch there. So a magnet and Reed switch through the helmet itself might literally be PERFECT! I didn’t even think of that! That you so much!!
      Like no like. I love this stuff. I’m glad I picked this path and it seems to be helping more people get their feet wet to start

    Your helmet is tighter fit then I thought I was concerned with my helmet being to small but yours gives me hope. Do you ever pinch skin in parts bending like elbows or knees? This was a super informative video. Have you thought about a simple inner back cover so you dont rub up on the wiring and boards? Is that servo in the forehead the one you recommended a few videos ago? The Crashworks one?

    • @FranklyBuilt
      @FranklyBuilt  Před 3 lety +1

      So yeah my knees pinch bad right now. To the point of bruising. But it’ll be okay. I’m working on that lol and the wires in the back actually don’t touch at all! Which is awesome for space and airflow. And the servo is the mg90s

  • @Michaelengelmann

    So idk how to do this nor do I have the resources to do this but I have an idea on how to make a real flying Iron Man armor. As a kid in 2008 I thought abt making a jet pack but it was just 2 liter sodas hooked up to a backpack & u put mentos in to. Then I thought abt a jet engine but where the hell was I gonna get that? Plus they get really hot and weight a ton.
