Her speaking out on such a taboo subject is going to help a lot of people. Its amazing how i have watched tons of fashion shows with Giselle in it and yet only watching a video clip like this when they show you photos of her posing and on the catwalk can you begin to see the sadness behind her eyes that she did display back then but no one seem to notice. Glad such a wonderful iconic lady manged to pull her self out of her sadness and i hope anyone going through this recognises that we all have melt downs and its too easy to let your self fall but the road to re-finding your self however difficult it maybe is where you need to start.

Wow, I think it's great that she shares this. I feel like everyone thinks models are living the dream life, they are aboslutely gorgeous, how can they have any troubles? It just shows that you should never judge a book by its cover. I could relate so much to what she was saying about panic attacks and the fact that she chose to live and keep going.I went through something similar and once I hit rock bottom, my perspective on life changed completely.

Of course she’s the only one that knows, but I honestly don’t think she’s revealing everything esp since she’s doing a million interviews and pushing her healthy brand. I do believe that she had anxiety, but I don’t believe she’s telling us the full reason for it. She really doesn’t need to tell the world, but she’s selling her book and brand. My thought is that the anxiety was brought on by Leo back then whom she couldn’t get to commit, and also the paparazzi surrounding him and them as a couple was pretty crazy.

First part of my twenties, I had horrible panic attacks and can totally identify with her. I healed myself by seeing the situation for exactly what it was and understanding the triggers at the time of my attacks and gradually was able to control them fully. I don't have them any more but it was horrible. You do believe you are dying during the attack with your heart racing and your fingers going numb from the fright. Honestly, I don't wish them on anyone. I never got help and cured myself, but please get help if you need it and can't control them yourself. We never know what people go through daily, so please be kind to everyone you meet.

She left home at 14, after dropping out of high school..went to Japan speaking no English..then on to NYC ..with no English according to her interview with Anderson Cooper. So yes..anxiety must have become built into her. She has come a long way, more power to her, she is absolutely beautiful on the outside of course. I understand how she has come to where she is today starting with yoga/ meditation and learning about the religions out there..No wonder she was anxious with that young adulthood. She is lucky she has the looks as she wouldn’t be where she is today without that ( think we need to admit that).. but how lucky the young people are today to have her as a resource. She seems so radiant, full of life sincere and willing to help others.. I love her! I worry about those who don’t have her looks with anxieties and I hope she addresses this when trying to help others.

But I met so many people in Milan and Paris who worked with Giselle and told me that she'snt nice at all and was really tough on them. I remember when model Carolina Reston died of anorexia, Giselle made a statement that if a model dies, fashion industry isn't to blame and she wasn't empathetic at all. No good

She's such a sweetheart! I can relate to her so much! I went through exactly the same thing a couple of years back! I used to party a lot, and drink loads of alcohol - that, I think, started my panic attacks.I also didn't want to be put on drugs and thought I'd sort it out myself. For anyone reading it, PLEASE, start supplementing on magnesium. Most of the time panic attacks can be a sign of having magnesium deficiency - coffee, alcohol, smoking, bad diet, and especially STRESS - it can all lead to it flushing magnesium out of our bodies like crazy. Stopping drinking coffee, sorting out your diet and supplementing magnesium DOES help. Good luck!

Sounds exactly what I went through at that age; the stress, the panic attacks and wanting it to stop through suicide. My stress came from being an overly-ambitious college student, who overdid on the caffeine and lack of sleep as well. Fortunately for her she changed herself in time; before she got married and became a mom. I, unfortunately, found the exact same solution as her, but it wasn't until I was years into my marriage and a mom with my oldest being a pre-teen. But I'm still grateful I found peace afterwards through health and self-care exactly like she did. I even follow the same diet as she did unbeknownst to me. And I'm happiest I've ever been in my life.....and my life just keeps getting better.

1:21 She said "oh yeah" as if having panick attacks was the most common thing in the world. Some people confuse sadness with depression and don't know what panic attacks and anxiety actually are. Feeling sad from time to time is different from suffering from depression and same goes for panic attacks/anxiety, it's not just feeling anxious because you have an important meeting

I have PTSD, anxiety for my many years, and then when I had my baby, not surprisingly, I developed major post-patrum depression... I was trying to heal myself naturally, with getting babysitter, swimming, meditation etc... nothing was helping. At 9 months post-patrum, I had a major breakdown of POD, could not stop crying; I realized I can't live like this, this is not good for neither me nor my family. I went to see a doc, got my meds... and it was a life-changing for me! I think I was never in that state of calm, simple, happy life. I am taking good care of my sob, my husband, myself, my job... please don't discredit medication, it really does help! When one has I don't know, cancer or smth, they take their meds! Your mental health is nowhere different, it depends on your brain chemicals. All the meds do is they teach your brain to function normally.

WOW, I would have never guessed. As a male, I have been recently dealing with anxiety and its not something I want my employer to know about. It really helps to hear that others are dealing with it as well and how they dealt with it. I have been making a lot of life changes (diet, exercise, and rest) as well and its not easy. I like the idea of meditation and I think I will try that too. Just need to find the time.....
This is also something a couple needs to work through. My mother has panic attacks and people are like “its just another panic attack”. I can tell you, after dealing with a few recently, they are scary and its the real deal. You wonder if you will even wake up the next morning. My wife has been helping me, just by being there and talking to me helps. The Bible does miracles for me . Also, there is a great book “DARE” that also helped me understand what it is and how to live with it. Like Gisele, I refuse to do meds. I wanted to handle it naturally. Thanks for being open and sharing this with us.

If she went through that what can the rest of us expect to feel chained to hideous jobs, average physical appearance, mortgages, loneliness etc. Not a bright scenario.......good for her she overcame all that.

Sure~ "reach out to help", most professional help venues are costly. Her story is similar to many of us. We must stay focused on what we want for ourselves. If we can break through the symptoms without pharmaceuticals, that is the most successful choice. Cbd is legal everywhere. It has essential priorities, without side effects or mind altering characteristics. Listening to other strong women who have our experiences validates the reality and confirms the rewards. Shine on, 🌞

I am glad she was able to stop and find her way. But, many chronic users of alcohol and tobacco which she probable wasn't too heavily for too long, are unable to stop alone because the will get into withdrawal. So professional help is always the best and no shame to take medications if needed.

It makes me so sad how much women go through. Like we could have the perfect job, body, marriage, everything but I feel the pressure of having to do it all and be perfect and eat right and be a good mom and everything can get so overwhelming that it’s a battle every day to get up and keep fighting through, which can make us so mentally tired and I think this is why even when we look like we may have everything, we’re exhausted and still feel not good enough. There’s really a lot of pressure. All men have to think about is making money and exceeding in their career. Everything else they have is just a bonus.
