    I am obviously behind the times in my understanding of how different it is now for people living with an AIDS diagnosis. Thank you very much for the creation of this video. I am now going off to read more about the subject. :)

      Yeah im trying .they cant even get blood to confirm the HIV or to see my cd4 count .i did needles years ago and killed all my veins .a month ago they check me in hospital and did blood test said I was negative .then at methadone clinic this other health clinic was there giving free hep c and HIV test.i did the mouth swab and failed .then went to that health clinic and they then did a finger prick test and came up positive 2 n half weeks later for mouth swab amd finger prick .but they could not get my blood to send to lab for confirmation.now I had synptoms of HIV for a few months .i also have an abcess .so maybe the infection threw the 2 point of care tests off .cuz whats the chance of hospital takibg my blood a few weejs earlier being negative and then coming up positive 2 weeks later......so stress full. But yeah im trying to be healthier now

    Its great that he is still alive, we really need people though to understand while HIV positive is not a death sentence anymore, you life is NOT the same. The drugs to treat HIV really damage the body long term. Not just when they had AZT. There is still a risk of liver failure and all sorts of other unpleasant things nowadays. You can still end up dying prematurely and probably will. I hope we can work for a long term actual cure vs just trying to treat.

    • @TheBlackDogChronicles
      @TheBlackDogChronicles Před 3 lety +4

      @@pozindia1831 It is clearly not what the writer is implying. He is stating that the medicine is not sufficient in and of itself, and that better medications and means of prevention need to be brought into being. There is not a single aspect of his statement that reflects that people should not take the drug if they have been diagnosed with AIDS.

      YES BROTHER!!! Words from my own mouth. We aren’t even 50 years in and almost everyone’s dead or just clinging on. It is a death sentence still. Everyone around us - there all protected, just not us poor saps on the medication that keeps everyone safe and keeps us alive to live the life we don’t even want

    He’s dealt with the same stigma and shame I am now but not the mass public shaming and then a discrimination case built against me as I was taking my ARVS properly so saved her life unlike mine was. Saved her life when she didn’t even know it needed saving same with all of my partners. People can say ‘okay so it’s impossible to transmit now but he didn’t tell her?’ Try living without friends or a girlfriend for ten years because of three letters that used to affect no one, not even me and now life is beyond unlivable. My want to live is gone. Chest badly infected. Fought for my life for 18 months, can’t do 18 minutes walking round the park now, healths gone life quality is gone and all as people can’t accept the medicine protects everyone. No one needs to be scared of sex with someone in the Uk anymore, they certainly are though and won’t even do it, they’l go from LOVING SEX all day to making blatantly false police statements. Personal experiences and I’ve documented my story.

Disgraceful god knows how many people he potentially infected with the virus. You would think after watching the suffering & demise of his partner that would of been enough to been more careful & care about others!

      @@hugofabian1146 The writer has made an admission as to their feelings, which undoubtedly are complex. Whilst you are entitled to say that you do not agree with some of the concepts, suggesting that it is 'stupid' is insensitive. Perhaps asking some questions so that you can better understand the person's situation will help you get your head around what you seem to feel may be confronting to you.

      With respect Annie Ho, saying you're "not happy being gay" is a little bit like saying, "I'm not happy having arms and legs". It is part of your structure. If you feel not excepted, that is not so much your problem but that of those who can't understand you being gay is not hurting anyone. It is a fundamental aspect of who were are the moment you were born. If I might say so, it is not the necessity of all people to produce children. Just as women shouldn't be assumed to be 'baby makers', so too should men not be considered to be only a vessel for our Mothers to regain a sense of their joy in babies.
