Lol... I was explaining something about one of your videos to my wife. I watch several van lifers and was trying to figure out how to explain who I was talking about. So I said, "the one that doesn't do his dishes." And she knew.
That drives my wife CRAZY!
A young guy, living in a van, alone, while documenting it, and doing all these adventures... And the van is already suuuper nice, look at how his spices is stored...
I´m totally thinking the opposite. That he´s a very sofisticated young man.
"Clean your Apron!" - He HAS one. Living in a VAN. I´m 35 and have never owned one in my life.
I dont think people appreciate how hard it actually is to live in these types of unconventinal ways. How much energy and time and planning it takes to just maintain yourself. Your hygien, food, electrics, water.
He cooks in a VAN that he built. Only people that has done that and been living in it for a couple years should be able to complain, and then they certainly wouldn´t.
'
(I get that you weren´t critizing him. Your comment was great and fun. I just had to get in here :-))
dishes are the bane of my existence i can't blame him lol
@@shepiuI am right along with you! All the dish washing that my Mother had me do as a child, I grew up hating to do my dishes, pots, pans, silverware any eating/cooking tool in my home I despise washing them. I even dislike dishwashers. Can you tell that I despise dish chores? 😂
@@skyangelthefan I want to create a robot or even machines that make dishwashing and other annoying tasks like folding clothes so effortless
It's always a great day when Ryan Twomey uploads a new video.
Some of my favorite content on CZcams.
Best CZcams channel ever! So glad I found his channel, it makes my life 100x better watching his videos ❤️🤟🏾
Why is this comment always the top in all Yt vids
english?
It's a great day when my herpes don't come out
Get a life and touch some grass, holy god.
Love watching you travel. Hint from someone raised in snow. Always in low gear, never break traction and never gun it.. had me on the edge of my seat today. No fair for this 67 year old girl 🤣🤣🤣
Lol. He punched through that massive 4" berm of snow. 😂
Wow I’m from here! I helped redesign the Angel Delgadillo exhibit! I did the layout for the walls, picked out the furniture, and other materials such as the carpet tiles!
Hey bud, I live in my camper full time up in Canada, I use those foam workout pads on my floor during the winter and they do really well keeping my feet warm without taking away much head space.
Cheap at 5 Below stores if you have them near you.
Great episode!
If you find yourself stuck in the snow, one tip is to disable the ESP/Traction Control feature. This function is designed to prevent your wheels from spinning too quickly, which may hinder your ability to gain traction. By turning off this feature, you can maximize the power to your tires, making it easier to get unstuck.
Just remember to turn it back on once you are on the move again.
also let some air out of your tires not a shit ton but a good amount
Remember to never underestimate all my crappy situation’s the poop shovel can get you out of 😂
I love the channel and look forward to every new adventure !
Also, another pro tip that's saved me countless times is use your floor mats for traction under your tires if you get stuck
Just a tip! If you ever find yourself in mud or snow and can’t get out front on! Try turning around and reversing out you will be very surprised how much better a FWD vehicle will do in snow when in reverse!
I love a sesame seed bun! I also love refried beans. I dip tortilla chips in them.
I really appreciate you putting up the degrees in Celsius the last couple of videos. It’s nice. And never mind people complaining about your dishes. It’s your house and you decide how to live in it. It’s real and it makes your videos you. Keep making them and I’ll keep watching.
Ryan, you should make a video where you talk about the things you like about your current van and what you would change if you made a new one. Like, would you change the layout or add a more permanent shower, stuff like that. It would be really interesting.
🎯Agreed!! Luv that idea👏🏽
Ryan, get some really warm slippers. They’re basically carpet that moves around with you. No need for insulation on the floor. And down booties for sleeping. Your feet will be toasty warm. 😊
The snow is soooo pretty! Thank you for sharing from Texas where it was 80 degrees today.
Your van always looks good. It is always stylish and not cluttered, like some others I have seen. So no harm in having some undone dishes in the sink. it's not like you leave them for extended periods of time. Also, it's better not to make a bed as soon as you get up in the morning -- bedding needs to air for a while.
I met Angel in 2015 and he was cutting hair still. Saw a patch from a local sheriffs department on his wall. We drove from Oatman to Flagstaff and it was amazing. I will do the whole road when I retire. Loved it.
Zzzzzzzzzzzz
always love your vids Ryan and your clear description. learning about US roads, camp locations, towns, weather conditions & pro-master capability. making & enjoying that cheeseburger was good as well. from Australia.
I'm in North Carolina. You just gave me my snow fix for another month!! I could tell you were super nervous, you did great!
I live in Edgewood, NM right off of Old 66. I absolutely adore living out here! I drive Old 66 to Albuquerque back & forth daily & am truly grateful for all the memories. :)
There is also plenty of lovely hiking close off Old 66 in the Central NM area!
You are the guy who got me into this vanlife thing on youtube. I cant stop watching vanlife campers now. Idk why but its so chill and relaxing and seeing places ill never get to see.
I used to drive a 2017 ProMaster every day for work and I LOVED that thing. It was mostly empty other than two 150 lb totes that I strapped down over the rear axle and man that thing would haul ass.
Good to be prepared for cold harsh conditions if RV fails. I’d recommend when you park to always have an exit in mind with backing in versus pulling in. Thanks for sharing the experience. Cheers
Do not make a drinking game out of every time Ryan says Route 66 or you will die 😂😂😂
I'm glad you made it out😮. Stay safe Ryan!
its really interesting how you also educate us on the history of the places you go to / pass by! especially for us who live overseas 🎉
sending love and support all the way from Hong Kong, good work Ryan keep it up! ❤
Get some Wool Cabin Socks! They would be great for your cold floor. They are super warm and honestly one of my favorite things about Winter.
Bombas gripper slippers are really warm too 😊
Alpaca is even warmer than wool ❤️
Bro, I got real ocd and trust me your “mess” don’t bother me. People don’t understand the circumstances and that’s okay. You can’t please everyone so keep on keeping on big tooms! We appreciate your efforts and we are very blessed with your uploads. Stay safe, stay healthy and travel on!
I suggest checking out Pontiac Illinois on your future Route 66 trip. Also as already mentioned a fluffy throw rug and slippers. You could also put toe warmer packets in the slippers when really cold. Thanks for the video!
I agree, you live in your van. So it looks lived in. Enjoy your videos.
FYI, The portable dishwashers are filled manually. You fill it to the max line and that is it. It probably will save on water because you’re not wasting water. You just need to find somewhere to store it.
...."momentum".....We're glad you used instinct when meeting the icy pavement and not flying across to get stuck worse on the other side!
Very cool, calm & collected!
Cheers!
Yah! you got out! Thanks for sharing your adventure with us! I am doing solar and have a 3 pole/piece collapsable squeegee with an adjustable angle head painting attachment...2 different items...put together from hard ware store....i use to clear off my solar panels on top my shed, works great and is light weight and small to store about 3 foot long collapsed....maybe that would help you
I have to say my memories went crazy with this video especially the car a/c that fit in the window! Some of my family had one of them and I must say, they did work although they just took the edge off the heat built up in the car! That highway berm did look a lot better than some of the residential ones I have had to navigate over the years but fortunately, living here in Mesa, I have not had that problem in many many years......thanks !
Oh the weather outside is frightful, but the diesel heater is so delightful. You should probably have some kind of slippers in your van when the floor gets cold. Can't wait to see more of the route
I bought some new boxes and laid them on the floor for warmth. It did help. Love your channel!
I hope to be driving that section of RT66 in September. Thanks for the preview 😊. You have done the best van build I’ve seen on CZcams. Great job!
This one is my favorite episode for some reason. I binge-watched most of your episodes. Great stuff.
I love how real the journey is bro. Never change. You're out there killing it
Loved this one. I’m in Mesa AZ, and have been to many of the areas that you’ve visited in AZ. I haven’t done my research on the history though, so it’s great to learn new things about those areas. Always love your videos! We need an update on the Japanese van!
I really, really appreciate how nice you keep up yourself and your surroundings! Some CZcamsr’s are a bit too grungy for me. Love your content and the cooking is very much a treat, Thanks!
I agree, Ryan is classy and shares so much knowledge. I love his cooking as well. Have you watched MAV? He's pretty cool as well.
Ryan, also check out Route 20. Longest highway in the USA. Goes from Boston to Oregon. You've driven portions for sure.
Maybe a trek to New England for Fall Foliage again (not Salem). This time go to southern Vermont for the covered bridges and perhaps the town used for Beetlejuice ? They leave most of the props. It's really wild.
Wow...your brave...glad you made it.❤
What a very cool trip to take. Rt. 66. Looks fun! I like all the old places 😎
lol about the dishes! Learned overtime to do them as I go so as I’m standing there, I don’t waste time if I have a few things to wash I do it so when I’m done it’s not nearly as bad a pile. Just something I learned overtime. Also, I would just leave it till the next day when I was younger, but trust me if you stay ahead of it it’s a lot better. We totally understand though, if you don’t have water or something like that. You do you
Just a quick tip for smash burgers only smash once in the beginning if you smash it later on during cooking you lose a ton of those precious juices my man
sick video man! I have a protester as well and we got stuck with just barely any snow just started spinning. on the way to get new winter tires also. keep it up!
Love love RT 66. Went from beginning in CA. up to AZ. BE SURE toy hit Winslow AZ … ICONIC
Love watching you travel!!!
I remember, as a kid. Travelling cross country in our 56 Ford, having that window air conditioner. Mom smoked so much that all my brother and I experienced is a little bit of circulating air with cigarette smoke. Not ever pleasant but better than stale air. I forgot about that! And, yep, we drive 66 in the 50s.
Great video and loved your hamburger!!
I remember those Burma Shave signs as a kid, coming west to California in the 1960’s! 🌺 After migrating to SoCal, we now live ~ 2 miles from 66. Great history of the road.
We are actually doing RT. 66 in Barstow! Loving the history murals all over town. Beautiful place.
I watched this the other day and got a craving for a good homemade burger. Followed exactly what you did and it was amazing, simple but so delicious.
In a pinch, you can use floor rugs, or even sheets and blankets for max trax replacement.
I really like this one! Snow, food & shelter on the road just living life bro.
So excited you are doing route 66. Looking forward to it.
I love the storytelling you always do. I’m a nerd when it comes to history and nature, and it seems like you are too. Keep em coming, Ryan! Many thanks🥰
me too! so many interesting places. I enjoy watching him create all sorts of amazing meals!
Ryan that burger looked amazing. Get yourself a small air fryer and throw in some tots or fries . Although im not sure how much power they consume. Foresty Forest uses one all the time so I’d imagine not much. Safe Travels Amigo 👊
Love your videos my man, always a joy to see a new one out!
Hey Ryan, the weather looks awful !!! We had a beautiful 82 degree day, I never expected to see this lol. Thank you for all the great content !!
As always great video!! Soon u won’t have to worry about getting stuck in the snow on your new build!!
I love your page. I get bit of a history lesson and great entertainment. I really enjoy watching you.
💗Love all your travels, love your energy to keep on going. Stay safe ✌🏻& careful. Thank you for always sharing your 🌎journey’s or just hanging out too.🤭😁
I've seen a lot of van life channels...this is one of the best I've seen... great channel...respect
Wow!!! Loved it!! I have done Route 66 from Santa Monica to Kingman
94 degrees in north Texas today. I was feeling for you in your anxiety. Great video Ryan.
This is wild 😂
Somehow the way you delivery “documentary” level information on places is really great. I’m from Europe, hoping one day you’ll cross Europe with this level of background information on sites 😊
That was lots of snow glad u made it out
Love cracker barrel! Great for Nomads! ❤ I love the powerhouse and rt 66 museum and the electric car museum. Go over to the mohave museum too it's great
Really enjoy watching your videos thanks for sharing your adventures 😊
Right on man you're in Kingman I'm down the road in Bullhead city. Love it down here and I spent most of my life in Huntington Beach. Hope you enjoy the nice cloudy day I don't know when you were here
I have been watching you and Mavs channel for a long time. I have to say i have been enjoying ur videos a whole lot more for a good while now. Keep it up!
Do your dishes when is good for you!! 😂. Just glad
To see a post
From
You.
Dang, That looks so good!
always love watching your vids when I'm relaxing in the evening. Keep it up man
I’m going to sound like a mom here but go buy some slippers! LL Bean sells great fur lined slippers with a solid bottoms. Will keep your feet nice and warm.
I was sitting down to a juicy hatch green chile and provolone cheeseburger when I clicked play. Cheers, Ryan!
❤
I look forward to seeing your videos every week. Great info on Route 66. How about indoor/outdoor carpeting? That should work and won’t add too much height. ❤
those window mounted classic air conditioners are actually really cool. It compresses it as it comes in using a cone shape and then expands back out on the other side to cool the air. It uses a very primative design feature that all air cons use now.
My dad had that same Studebaker growing up in New York back in the early
‘50s. He loved his cars and had some great ones.
Ryan is such a vibe. The tea is amazing too, asked my mom for some for Christmas 🍋
Always enjoy watching your videos from the comfy of my blanket
So enjoyed the PACE direct, tho once in a while. First time I’ll ✅ out your’er other vlogs ‼️
A good app to check the weather is raindar... I'm in Florida, so there is no snow, but I would think you could get an idea of what type of precipitation is coming your way with it in snow as well! Awesome video as always! 🤙🦀🌴
The moss covered landscape is unreal. What an amazing capture.
Really enjoy the fun facts and history you include.. good stuff!
I think your layout is one of the best I've seen , the only change I would make is to have a shower/toilet in your seating area , extend you PC table a little and maybe a window on the sliding door and another in bed area.
your channel is growing so fast mate :) very inspiring as always. Thanks for sharing
Another great video !!!
Been a fan since tiktok. Around 1k follows here on YT. Please continue with the history lessons! You’re amazing and you deserve more followers!
Ryan glad you got out of there. Snow is difficult to navigate😊
Lowering your tire pressure is also great for offroading or when there is lots of snow.
Stumbled onto your channel the other day - love it!
If you ever come thru Route 66 - Springfield, IL the Cozy Dog Drive in created the corn dog and was inspiration for the Cozy Cone Motel in the movie cars. Would love to see you come thru and make corn dogs in the van
Oh yeah Winter Van Life…and “Keeping it Real”. Love all the day in the life routine along with the ending suspense😅
It has to be kind of fun being stuck in a snow storm like this, you know you have days of diesel to keep you warm, you have food, I guess the major issue would be power I can't remember if he has solar or not but still in a snow storm probably not getting the best charge. But there is something kind of cozy about knowing you're just chilling in your van playing video games cooking cheeseburgers while chaos is happening outside lol
Growing up in Kingman and seeing someone visit there is crazy.
If you invest in a pair of Gore-Tex lined boots, you will not need any wool socks impact you can wear a thin wrist sock in them and be toasty all winter long. The boots are also waterproof. And the summertime they will keep your feet cool as well. The military has a contract to use Gore-Tex lined boots. Many police officers wear Gore-Tex
Lined boots also. They are very light weight too.
i LOVE HOW YOU ARE COOKING IN THE SNOW......
I want to quit my job and live van life. I live this life thru you. Keep going man.
Ryan…You probably already heard this, but in the case that you can’t find chains and traction boards, get yourself a couple of two by fours and some kitty litter…and make sure that you have a shovel all the time with you. It would’ve saved you a lot of headache that day. Take care and safe journeys my friend.
You dont owe anyone of em any excuses or explanations...... we are just here to witness your greatness
Facts lol
Poo pathetic comment, welcome to the shitty para social internet people.
Losers lol
I agree, I find it crazy how people want to tell other people how to live. It's your van your life if they want to nag they need to buy their own van and wash their dishes!
The first few videos I watched on your channel, I thought for sure you had some sort of professional culinary background. That’s a testament to some of the dishes you’ve turned out in your home on wheels.
First time watching this channel and what a great video. Subscribed and making my way through the videos
