Welcome to this new series where we take a fresh level 1 Wizard from scratch and build into a full gold set. There aren't really any rules since I will be needing to use the trade post at level 15 to be able to make the money for the Gold items, and purchase them.
This won't be an easy challenge as I will mainly be only using caster wizard throughout the whole series. Any death along the way will be a huge setback, especially if we have gold pieces during. Hope you guys enjoy, and let me know if there are any crucial changes I should make to the format of these episodes.

I love the voice over commentary because you have hindsight and can explain everything smoothly, whereas live commentary can just be a chaotic. Can definitely learn a lot more with voice over.

You were the first dnd youtuber I found and still my favorite. A lot of dnd players are so full of themselves, but you can poke fun at yourself, which is something I really like. Love the post game commentary too.
I didn't mind the voice over commentary at all! It let you focus on the game and explain your actions, so I thought it was quite cool!
when you are done with the series you should compile them all into one video - "Zero to gold Wizard movie" Id love to see it all in one go too. Great video king.

16:00 just a tip, you can crouch and hug the right side of the goblin archers to completely avoid their arrows, while melee attacking them. It works 99% of the time unless you have a big elevation difference.

Just a note for the comment on 15:20, the only capes that can roll above a base 3 of their stat is Will and Knowledge. None of the other capes can roll above 3. I don't know why it's that way, but it seems to be that way.
if you crouch and hold the goblin archers left leg(so you would be to his right) you will not get hit by his shot ever, unless it was patched in the last week, if it was just ignore me :) nice video!!! wish ya the best!

I counted 54 strikes to kill the golem. Two swings were close but missed during the kill so you would count 56 if you didn't notice they missed.
Looking forward to this series as I am way too trash at the game to play wizard.

Hey man I just want to say that your vids are amazing and the only problem I have is that you don't post more often. If I had to give a piece of advice it would be to try to incorporate some live commentary as we get to see your live reaction which is always better. I love how you give the full gameplay and not just the PvP. I learned a lot through you and I went from dying to normal ai to running full gold with my trio. Again, love your work and keep it up.

Same, I'm very used to being in duo/trio and saving it for boss since it wears off if you die and get restricted in the same run.

Love and respect, forward-backward is getting you hit a lot by pve. If you incorporate more strafe with your skill maybe not get hit for days 🤷♂️. If A and D key binds aren’t 100% comfy I use Q and E. Love the video idea 😊

Fun vid! The voice-over is fine, all I'd say is maybe include some audio from the live. I'd have loved to hear what you were saying in the seconds after that 'unfortunate' moment. xD (a little radio static noise to transition from live/post maybe?)

If anyone else has a hard time with the goblin archers. They always aim for the head.
I haven't played in a while, but you used to be able to strafe around them on their bow side and crouch, looking down before they shot, and most arrows would just miss
Just my own opinion and I’m only at 11 minutes in but I would have preferred it if you didn’t mention “as you’ll see in a second” like for the rogue near the static or the door closing for the warlock, felt a bit like a spoiler kinda. If you mentioned the “closing the door was a good move” after killing the warlock I would have liked that more. I like all your videos regardless but just personal feedback
Also the cloaks that go up to 5 are the will and knowledge cloaks all the other ones have a maximum of 3
And resourcefulness that goes to 5 as well

i have SO much to learn with this game. my first 10 wizard games i died to like the 2nd or 3nd anything i encountered. i kind of love that it wants to kill you so bad but also like ok if you werent safe-spotting that demonic centaur thing how in the hell does anyone fight that??

Moral of the story: crystal swords are best left for fighters
It took 54 head shots with the crystal sword and 22 were ignited. (I didn't see anyone count it)
How do you access the rotations? I am trying to do a similar run as you but I have not been able to access the "rotations" options when selecting where I want to go. Only 3 options are The GC(solo)/HR, Frost Mountain(duo)/HR and The Ruins(trio)/HR. Obviously I am new to the game but still want to do the Ruins solo and give it my best chance lol

Splendid (Will), Radiant (Knowledge), and Watchman (Resourcefulness) cloaks can roll up to 5 on their static attribute. Tattered (Strength), Vigilant (Vigor), and Adventurer (Agility) cloaks can only roll up to 3 on their static attribute.
But yeah it’s dumb that the static attributes are random despite the rarity, should 100% scale like other gear.

I have to say I do prefer live commentary instead of this as it otherwise it mainly feels a bit disconnected from what's happening emotion-wise. I feel it matters more what you thought at the time and you can still give your thoughts about an event shortly after. Completely understand why you need the extra focus but wanted to give my two cents :)
