There are so many songs about losing someone, but none are this honest about the self-destructive ways some people cope with that loss with drinking, sex, partying & sometimes drugs. Tove Lo tells that story without being vulgar or false.

When she sings live she can´t reach the same notes as she does in the studio, the thing is, this imperfection is what I like the most about her. I don´t like artists who perform live using software to clean their voices, Tove Lo doesn´t do that and that's why I still keep coming back here as you do.

Her vocals are amazing. And the fact that they stand out over all the backing instruments just shows the power of her voice. The saddest thing about popular music these days is that everyone assumes all of them can't actually sing or write. The true talents go under the radar until they get a chance to prove themselves live.

Edit a year later: sober from alcohol and I got my mind back, friends back and self-respect. alcohol made me feel like i was making progress when i wasnt while the last year being sober made me feel like i wasnt doing shit when i was actually making progress towards my actual goal (feeling comfortable in my own skin, confident in myself, in the moment instead of always worrying about random everything all the time)

I'm a long time pothead but sometimes when life gets hard, I "clean up" and tackle those problems head on instead of smoking more. Smoking weed is for good times, IMO. Running to a drug when you feel bad is very dangerous. Weed is probably the safest for that but be careful. It won't solve your problems, just delay fixing them.
