I'm proud of all of you, no sarcasm.
I think Dr Strange is the most powerful and underrated character ever he is so powerful he talk to Galactus, Dormammu, Mephisto, Eternity, and they all acknowledge and give him his own space it's so cool to see that
You have to remember he is only human, so like a magic emp comes into contact with strange he’s pretty much fucked.
Idk if he is the sorcerer supreme in this but he definitely holds a vast amount of respect being who he is.
Strange was human, but after becoming Sorcerer Supreme, he starts to lose his humanity over time dealing with cosmic and mystical stuffs
He's pretty much the straight man to the chaos everyone else brings.
I've been reading comics for 50 years. Like you, I know and have read a lot about most DC and Marvel characters. That being said, this is probably one of the best " ….. and only I will remember and know" stories to date. It also may be THE best Dr. Strange story ever. And you have covered it wonderfully. From all of us, thank you for your work in helping to fully understand the story. It is truly appreciated.
I collected a lot of titles/publishers from the 70s to the 00s. Still carrying over 50k comics around and people hate helping me move, heh. This video showed me that Marvel still has some writers that care about characters and older canon. This is my second favorite Galactus story, which says a lot all considered. Trial of Galactus is now in third. The absolute best Galactus story ever was when he met the High Evolutionary on Counter Earth and... okay, was beat by the Impossible Man sacrificing his planet and causing Galactus, um, cosmic indigestion. Silly as it sounds it was a great story run that bred hundreds of future tie ins.

I agree - You're probably 5-10 years older than I and I am with you on this. I ve seen some of the utterly ridiculous "Haters gotta hate" remarks - I doubt any one of them has neither an iota of the imagination and aptitude to write better stories or the knowledge, passion and patience to create a video like this. This was an amazing story and very well constructed re-telling. I for one thank Rob for reminding us veteran afficionado's and those new to this genre.

in marvel, Satannish, satan, mephisto, devil, etc. are just one entity. they're physical manifestation of its personalities. and that's a good one actually.
What I enjoyed most about this story is it shows us again is the potential absorption power of Galactus when he decides not to hold back. Galactus has the potential power of the universe because he is literally the fusion between Galen and a Universe.
Personally, I get tired of the stories over the decades that use Galactus as a whipping boy / jobber to promote other characters.
I feel like you. Despite the flaws in this story, was nice to see Galactus receive some respect again👍
I just picture doctor doom sitting on his throne swing his feet saying “who can I defeat today?” As all this goes down.

Aren't villains the likes of Doctor Doom, Thanos, Red Skull, Kang the Conquerer seen as good essentially because they ensure balance. (Besides the future Thanos variant who essentially ate the one above all) They do evil but ensure balance of time-lines/universes/multiverses. Kang the conqueror has saved all of reality before.
I think one of the reasons Galactus overpowered Dormammu is Galactus was still made to eat celestials, he eats cosmic energies for breakfast which is all Dormammu is, cosmic energy given sentience.

It's like DC and almost every hero lost a parent or both, a way to lure kids and either what they wish or glad it didn't happen, either way, they can picture themselves as their favorite hero in comics and get the powers they think they deserve. It's something that I've always wondered why they did that and a simple guess. I'm still not sure.

Galactus consuming everything resulted in the end of the universe and an absolute imbalance in magical power. Unless 0% is balance. I think what this really means is that the living tribunal and eternity are absolutely useless. If there was any situation at all that them stepping in would be deemed as necessary this would be it. If they won't step in to prevent the end of the universe or the total collapse of magic, They are worthless. It doesn't even make sense why powerful individuals take them on when they go from universe to universe. Very rarely do they defend it.
Eternity: made out of 100% of the life in the universe.
Thanos: "I'm going to kill 33% of you."
Eternity: "No prob bob."
But it's like they said this isn't the end of the universe, just the universe taking a new form. Yea it sucks for me and you but oh well.
But the multiverse exists and even if a few universes are destroyed it does not matter to them. Universes are destroyed and new ones take its place. So they are ok with that.
The Las statement you made about Thanos, is assuming living beings are important enough on the cosmic scale to actually kill off parts of eternity. He may be the physical embodiment of the universe ,who knows if killing off living beings effects him
This is less of a 3 way fight and more of "Galactus gets inconvenienced for a bit, and wrecks the magical heavy hitters"

See lucifer lu-ci-fer or lu-che-fer as che as in cheek just means morningstar in Latin, satan means advesary prosecutor, accuser, opposser in Hebrew, diabolos means the same in Greek where the word devil is just a transliteration of diabolos see diavol, deofil in Old English. In Latin if you were to translate satan it would be contra, but in Greek diabolos is the translation of the Hebrew word satan. So the Bible is this is Hebrew and this Greek but it means the same, but in Greek it means accuser, or slanderer also.

they are from beyond the omniverse.
The Beyonders are higher dimensional beings, Dormammu is only a threat to the 'normal' dimensions

I mean, the beyonder was powerful enough to smack Galactus and send him flying so I dont think he would have enough time to absorb the beyonder's power.
Robs description of Dr Strange at the beginning reminds me of Saitama.

I don't know, Hulk once punched space so hard, he created a big bang. Also, his gamma energy is revealed to be something more like power cosmic as it comes from the One-Above-All's opposite, The-One-Below-All(basically the devil). Not saying he could hurt them, but its food for thought.

66-68 Strange was so powerful that he couldn't be touched. So powerful that they had to invoke the cost of using his magic. This way he couldn't use many of his powers anymore because the price was so high if he did. That made him beatable again
49:10 Mephisto says in the center panel in regards to his price being a piece of a human soul “especially a soul so pure that it has saved all reality!” Followed immediately by “the small piece you’re about to surrender...” so it’s clearly a piece of Strange’s soul.

There's more order than The DC universe. He did create a series of checks and balances for the chaos though. Which made his creation amusing. If I created my own universe, I want action. You can make the same argument for DC I guess.

Abraxas is also a 1991 movie with Jesse Ventura as the title character. It’s not very good, but outside of The Rock, Ventura in Predator, and Roddy Piper in They Live, professional wrestlers usually have a hard time trying to be actors. See Hulk Hogan movies for reference.

Galactus is like the brother of Eternity and Living Tribunal. Dormammu may be lord of his own realm, he is not like a force of nature of a presumably much larger Universe. So no surprise on my end about the outcome of that fight.

Great video. Early 70s- I believe Doctor Strange was so powerful that Marvel had to pull his powers back because there was no way to beat him, so the made the consequences of magic so they could tone him down and beatable in a storyline

Being a long-time Dr. Strange fan, I was disappointed over how Clea got mind-wiped to forget knowing him. If she is really going to be in the movie sequel, I imagine she will show up in the comics as well. Of course, Dr. Strange himself would have to be alive in Marvel Comics (stupid Death of Dr. Strange miniseries).

Damn this is an incredible story. I am so happy Dr Strange got a new story out involving galactus like this. So now Galactus is stronger than Dormamu and Technology and Magic can not mix otherwise it will be a consume all new supreme being known as Galactus, if it were to happen. Also Dr Strange is incredibly humble making the universe exactly as it was except changing one of his decision in the recent past.
Dormammu, Nightmare, and Mephisto, all there is missing is Trigon and Surtur.

This Arc was extremely cool and was very classic Cosmic Dr. Strange dealing with mindblowing powers and entities wrapped up in a story.
Very good matchup, Galactus with all his Heralds I think would definitely give him the edge
