  • This is one of our favourite camps so far. Just outside of Innamincka on the Cooper Creek is an incredible low-cost bush camping area.
We've setup on the Cooper to explore Innamincka and the surrounding area. $2 showers and a pub lunch at the Innamincka Hotel were a great way to kick things off!
Just out of town we find the site's where Burke and Wills came to grief and learn a little more about the story of their expedition.
Road closures meant that we weren't able to head out of town as we had hoped but the alternative route was incredible.
We take a look around the historical Cordillo Downs station before finding a remote campsite without another person for miles around us.
You can always see what else we're up to by following us on Facebook and Instagram (links below). See you next Sunday!

I enjoy your vids. I agree with you on Bourke, explorer yes but also a fool. You realise travelling what a pristine country Australia was before us whites settled here. The indigenous population had a paradise. I really enjoy the history you share with us. What a great family you have. Thanks fire sharing your adventures.

Great video. Think you need to invest in a couple of fly nets 😀

    • @TheLifestylePioneers

Thanks, Jo. They don't bother you after a while and the nets annoy me more than the flies to be honest. Each to their own I guess.

Check out McDougal Stuart’s story, a truely extraordinary story and he got little recognition. On his 6th attempt he made it back to Adelaide and mapped the Overland Telegraph line thru to Darwin and closely tracks the Stuart Highway

Years ago, remember seeing an article probably Courier Mail Brisbane ... after lake Eyre filled after many years dry.
That pellies rose in the thermals around the Tweed flying direct to L.H. compliments of various thermals. Though imagine they would have stopped off along the way.. In the 60's Corella lake on Barkly Tablelands was a known rookery flying from east coast to nest.
Guess a little like the turtles..then all nature even us humans have survival gifts.

Enjoyed this…Doing this track / trip in a van - did you feel the need to lower tyre pressures etc or just drive at that 65-80 like you said.

We might've failed to mention it in this one, but we always lower pressures in the car and van when we hit the dirt
