This video is slightly misleading in that the sirens give the impression they are actually on their way.
😅😅😅
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Wow, the police are taking the p@ss. The reason why we've had 8,000 bikes stolen is because you have done nothing to prevent it. This is not good enough, we need you to crackdown on it whatever it takes. No amount of chains or disc locks is going to stop your bike being stolen. And the police have done nothing to prevent it. What a disgrace of a police force, 8,000 is an absolute disgrace.
so I guess the simple solution is to setup bait scooters with one slight alteration to the usual bait scenario. This time, underneath the moped seat will be a set of knifes that get shot upwards into the thief's bum hole.
I reckon this will do the trick. I bet a scooter isnt worth their balls (if they have any)..
Just use an airbag, it'll send them 10 feet in the air in half a second, no chance they will be stealing bikes or fleeing the scene with a few compressed spinal discs
Better yet 1lb of C4 that is connected to the battery so when the ignition starts it blows up
Get rid of the criminals instead. How about that? Even if the bikes / scooters were left unlocked and keys in them nobody has the right to take those.
Minimum penalty for vehicle theft 5 years. Vehicle jacking (if that's the term) 8 years minimum. That should be a good start.
Yep and accomplices included.
Na, a warning sounds good enough for me. Then maybe £50 fine after 3 more bikes are stolen?
Locks only keep honest people...honest. With a lock all you're doing is buying time.
Test the logic by looking up the correlation between the amount of crime and length of sentences. You might be surprised. Spoiler alert; jail time is a really ineffective and expensive crime deterrent.
@@kilobitti They wont't steal scooters while in jail.
So the MET made a tutorial video...
Yes
the more the police actually do their job the less likely bike thefts are to occur
The Police are not bothered, it's just an insurance claim and move on. Only issue now is the situation is so bad they've actually had to start looking like they are doing something. This video is just PR to cover up their total lack of enthusiasm to tackle this crime.
Toby Exactly mate
Why should the police after motorbike thieves? It's a lot easier to go after people who post mean things on Facebook.
The Police's message is basically: "It's your fault. You're on your own."
Legit
no their message is that they can't do much cause they have mostly cars and you also need to take responsibility for securing your scooter
That is the message, yes, because unless you take your own reasonable steps to protect your property then there is not much else the Police can do.
Picking up money in the street with the intent of keeping it is illegal, does this mean you just throw your cash about ? Expecting the police to track down everyone that picked it up ! No of course you don’t .
This video does not highlight how gangs on mopeds can pull up at the red lights next to you and take your bike by force with numbers and weapons. How do we deal with that?
lol - some keyboard warrior here. Nobody has stolen my bike yet. Thanks for concern though
Assuming your American, you also had a madman shooting ~450 people at a music festival in Las Vegas so I wouldn't say you guys have the right idea with arming everyone.
Eli Reid Also where you come from depressed phycos go killing hundreds of people for no reason.
Guns aren't the answer. Non lethal weapons are.
Eli Reid, I have hard time imagining drawing your gun... do you do it in an inconspicuous way so they don't shoot you with the guns they most likely drew as they were approaching you? I assume you won't shoot much with a couple of bullets in your body.
Eli Reid *LMFAO* Paranoid as fuck
Who can spot all the flaws in this advert?
Nicholas Holloway the Actors are all white. 😂 in true police style. The truth is far to racist we can't show that.
you'd think scooter manufactures would have a go at atleast making steering locks a bit tougher, seems a bit of light wind would break the lock lol
They want them to be stolen so people will buy a new one .
Maybe the police could do their Job. If you lock your bike it's still going to get stolen....What about the Acid attacks how do we stop that. What a Joke!
Are you familiar with the concept of a straw man argument?
Mate you just talk crap but you can't put forward any suggestions to improve that. I'm not here to suck their dick but they aren't omnipresent either.
Just the other day a guy saw a person riding his stolen bike so drove into him and was prosecuted for it. That is bullshit
Deport the ones that steal. Instead of 2 hours community service and an hour counselling with free lunch. I reported a theft to the police and evidence of who stole from me they said there is nothing we can do!! Yes bring me my money back!!!
Deport the ones stealing?
What about Darren from Hackney? Or Gareth from Croydon? xD
Not all the thieves have a foreign background. Plenty of "native" chavs around. We have the same problem here in Denmark. Criminals are the same, their genetics have nothing to do with it.
Most of the people who are stealing are people who can't get legal work because they've entered the country illegally. Most of the poor of our native population is being caused by the race to the bottom that comes with importing foreign workers. Modern Slavery exists in Britain primarily in Labour voting areas where they turn a blind eye to it.
@@MaceJuanDutake their fingers or hands
This makes stealing scooters seem appealing haha
tru
Mine was stolen this morning :(
Jenkins Bradbury it is
it is
be safe is not good enough you need to do more than that and change the law,all they get is a slap in the wrist whenever they get caught!
Support police pursuit policy for moped criminals!
They should just cut off their hands.
Or there could be punishments that fit the crime so it's prevention from a legal perspective. So much more needs to be done, this video really shows nothing new or respect-worthy. The police need to make more of an effort
Mike Danek The no pursuit rule needs reviewing too; if the scumbags are thieving and they fall off & hurt themselves (or worse) then so be it... This country is too soft on crime!
The police are always under attack... Especially when the pricks of these families go on social media and get tonnes of support...
Mums who blame their kids for dying because their kids were running from the police! They blame the police for chasing them!
See how easy it is to catch guy on scooter... Come to think of it actually there should be more units mobilized on bikes.
hahahahaha and this as made by the police of UK? :D Hilarious :D please lock your bike better so we don't have to work
No Surrender
Wow.... So....
Savage!
Henrik Rónai SAVAGE MA NIGGA
'work'
London is horrible when it comes to traffic and once they chased one down and he died, cause a massive uproar against police. They can't win. They work and take them down they get called bullies and pigs, but they don't do anything they get called pussies and lazy.
well its your own scooter you have to take more care of it than the police
The police in the UK seem like a complete joke.
That just screams the police not doing enough to stop them....own goal there met police....
So it's the owners should do nothing then? Hm? What a genius.
What so they break the steering lock then it suddenly turns on ?
That's over 20 bikes per day throughout one year. What a joke.
Just remember..its not illegal to carry a bicycle lock..chain type prefably..enough said???
And when you catch them you let them run.
Additional security ?!!! Well let me say this (especially if any officers are reading these comments) . If Police don't buck up their ideas I will be adding a live wire from my battery to my D lock and I give zero fucks about the consequences . You get enough of our tax money yet bike theft isn't taken as seriously . I am an engineer so it will take me very little time to come up with something .
Seb K An engineer that doesn't know that 12v DC isn't enough to overcome the resistance of human skin. Good job.
mrglocki - a typical moron who jumps to conclusions and thinks I am talking about a motorcycle when in fact I am talking about my Ebike . I don't have a motorcycle licence smarty pants .
Seb K A typical condescending Ebike rider who assumes everyone should know that he is the owner of an Ebike. Go get a motorcycle license and see the light.
Why don't you two just co-operate and get along? If we all just show unity we are a big threat to the bike knickers. They only continue with this as an occupation because they know the general public is disunited and dissension exists among us so we do nothing. If your Ebike or whatever got knicked in front of mrglock would he help? I know I would. And if mrglock's bike was being stolen would Seb K intervene? Well, you should
Sorry that should have read 'nickers'
Wow, why has the city installed the chain anchors on the ground? Anytime the chain is against a stationary surface, ideally a very hard one, like the road, it makes it a lot easier for crims to attack. It's just the city setting people up to be vulnerable against pro thiefs. It might also help if citizens had more respect for law enforcement...they need to work on that, too, I think.
This makes me think cutting the hands off of thieves maybe wasn't so barbaric and maybe a practical solution.
I know people that won't spend twice as much on their bike locks as they can still get broken into
The police are right, 2 chains, like this you can chain there wrists and ankles when you through em in the river. When we bikers start taking the law into our own hands and doing the polices job, then they will pay attention. Till then no pursuit, no helmet and other shit just lets them sit there and eat do-nuts. Society will act at that point, problems going to be the innocent bikers that finally stood up will get the shit. On the plus side do it enough and there will be no more bike thefts, just may need to dredge the river out as it will end up rather full!
A few things worth noting;
1. Motorbikes are cooler.
(get a motorbike)
2. Maybe ask some of the rougher Motorcyle Clubs to "talk" to these scooter idiots?
3. Pay attention to your surroundings (ESPECIALLY when ANYWHERE near a road of any kind or other people.)
By doing this you'll reduce your risk of getting run over, running someone one over, or getting mugged like the dude on his phone.
4. Never leave any personal possession unattended/unprotected.
Mobiles, jewelry, cars, bikes, food and drink or even dogs.
5. If you find yourself in a position where someone is trying to steal the bike while you're on it, let them on it and push them off as soon as they try to get away.
6. Get a gps tracker installed
Its like indicating when you're a motorist. You should ALWAYS do it. Even when nobody is there, its not a bad habit.
The police couldn't even catch a cold,,,,,
You lot still ain't got mine back and it's been about 10 years so bollox
This why are carry nunchucks in my bike jacket spine valve
Ice pick in mine lol
yamaha nmax? does it have shutter key
8000 bikes stolen, how many scumbags in jail for it tho?
also pretty sure they are letting this happen on purpous
So Just What Security Do You Put On a Scooter To Make It Unstealable??
How do they get them started without keys?
Looking at the size of those locks how much security do the police want? Looks like half the scooters weight is just for the chains and locks.
How do they start the ignition?
My scooter is locked using a thick hardened steel chain, on it’s own with just a padlock, that is too easy but I use a mini D lock to secure the chain to the wheel, that makes it ten times harder to remove ! A thief can cut the chain but the bike is still immobile because the D lock is stopping the wheel from turning. I back the chain up with an alarm disk lock as well.
Police are dammed if they do dammed if they don't. What you need is the head of police to come on TV and say if you steal bikes we will no longer drop back when you throw your helmet we will knock you off and if you get hurt or killed that's your choice we will not prosecute our officers for doing so. These days if a innocent sweet young man happens to get hurt riding a stolen scooter police have to worry they will lose their jobs. This is creating vigilante's and that will end badly
It looks like nobody afraid to steal scooter. Just give 5y in prison for first and 10yt for second stolen scooter and nobody will take them any more.
What is the name of their CZcams channels?
PLEASE
When is this game released?
Two things here a locking system via electronic keypad which immobilises the ignition where a pin number has to be entered every time before engine starts disconnecting or damaging system will prevent engine from starting. even if you know what you are doing and have right equipment would take maybe 10-15 minutes so bike could be lifted and taken away after lock cut but not driven away. Or an rfid chip as on car ignition systems built into
key so only correct key works to start even if steering lock broken again big
delay and no drive away. All bikes fitted with GPS tracker with own internal
battery so can be tracked like low-jack system on cars. The cost of this would
halve the insurance on bike as cutting risk of loss by a very high amount.
Ron Angel
They don't need the ignition. Lock it in gear or lock the wheel yes.
They just push the bikes with no ignition. Strip for parts.
The ignition lock was not for ones that take bike for parts to sell it was for the ones that take it just for use in robbery,so cant just drive away, but have to do a lot of work on it first. so will leave it.
Lawless London, Sadiq Kahn's London. May Allah bless you !!!!
Well they got the steering lock out but how do they turn the ignition on ?
The one on the already running bike at the back pushes the one in front with his foot on the pillion foot pegs, they ride like this until they are where ever they take the bikes to then hotwire or strip it there
Such an lenient police.
I actually rote to the Mayor of London with an idea that has worked for many years, something that was as little cost to the council as they could ever expect from a deterrent, and he tells me,"we may look at this in our next tenure". Obviously I told him, if he doesn't look at making motorcycle theft, and theft using a motorcycle a higher agenda, he won't have another tenure.
What is the idea ?
Just stay away from London and you’re be ok
Just found out today some bastards tried to steal my scooter, only managed to take my battery and scratch my 1" thick steel U-Lock.
1. Own a crappy scooter, thieves won't even think about stealing it.
Easy money *steals a samsung*
Shouting oi doesn't work on these generation of kids 😅
It's very unclear to understand what's happening in this video. is it made by UK police? this kind of shows its fun to steal a bike rather than spreading awareness about security.
is this what we pay for ?
that you remind us to use more security?
how about do your job ?
I would smear the chain in black tar mixed with industrial glue, and electricute the chain
Just put 3 locks on it takes up to much time job done
its this easy? well i know what ima do now
Not thiefs not need for police
how do they start the bikes🤣
they either lockpick or just hotwire it in the public it just takes 2 seconds and you're done
Owners should bubble wrap their bikes, it's a nightmare to unravel all of that.
Harder, as in it's still possible. As with hacking, the bad guy always has the one uo
Cheers mate
cheers mate hahah im dead
It's too easy sadly I just got mine stolen
Scooters are stolen because it’s easy and there is no deterrent, the only time the police get involved would be to arrest the owner for assault while trying to stop his property being stolen.
So blame the citizens 😂 got it
Do you know what happens when some steals ? They get locked up bad bad bad bad
Security is not the main problem . the biggest problem is not having laws that allow the owner/s to retaliate without being sued by the thieves . The thieves have to become frightened of the public and the public must be allowed to protect their property without repercussions . And don't give me the youcant take the law into your own hands crap . If the thieves know they are risking extreme pain if they steal , the numbers of these crimes will diminish overnight .
The way to make the criminals think twice is with exploding seat or grips or other parts if they want the bike they will think twice if they are going to have a part of the bike explode 😜
It gets me when the little boys say to general public com on ten wat ya got.
So what you have there is they can't speak big man's language little children.
We are on our own. Law and the enforcement is on their side. Ive got no peace at my own home just because i own a motorcycle.
Why police do nothing about it ?
Taking what you need or want?
“You get up in this world by taking what you need”
No you get up by providing a service or goods that contribute to the economy it’s called capitalism
why steal a scooter lol
Such a Typically British infomercial. It’s your fault your bike was stolen. Ha! We won’t do anything about it. We’re too busy raking in revenue from motorists to give a shit. Why would we introduce stiffer penalties? We can just get it back when its dumped and then wait a week to let you know we’ve had it, so then you can pay us the surcharge for us keeping it in lockup. Easy 200 quid. Crime pays, people.
you make a living in the world by working
With bike crime on the rise in London, the Metropolitan Police have launched a campaign called 'Ram a damn thief', which encourages police officers in particular to use additional force on bike thieves....

I believe Police is smart, they must have college degree even higher training. but like other police on other country, police just lack of will to track thief boss and end their story.
Victim blaming nice job

You should have another video showing how our mamby pamby rules prevent prosecution so that they can carry out their activities.
:::)))) self protect ,people..becose police work..hard ....to do nothing ::))))
Bait bike, scope, black tip.........................come to poppa, thief

And this is why you should have a brake disk lock...
Ben Newton they will literally just cut the brake disc around it in seconds, they're not bothered about it haha
use Oxford brake disc padlock alarm extremely hard to brake or cut takes far too long & too much hassle for them👌👌👌👌🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧
