On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8. - Hry

Day 7 F14 vs any plane f14 with retracted wings
You should dogfight @max afterburner. He’s a former thunderbird snd F15E pilot with a smallish channel, and just getting into DCS
Bandit unknown BVR fight, it would be challenging, and it would be very interesting
@@bt1080that'd be pretty freaking sick actually

Spoilers
I’d be so pissed if my missile blew up on my wing after fighting an F-22 for almost 15min
It's like scoring the winning shot for the other team.
To be fair, he was dead anyways. That 9x had him dead to rights. The only question is if he'd have gotten a mutual kill or not.
@@Regolith86But the explosion gave the 9x a bigger target to track
@@mr.mastermind4840 it was still a straight shot. it was going to hit, it already had a track before the archer exploded, and if the archer came off the wing it would have had to loop around to kill the Raptor, which is possible but unlikely with the stealth, a loop around shot is already rare as it is, lets just call a spade a spade
Felt like the F22 was close and jamming that wez enough that the Archer had no way of tracking it anyway even if it would have come off the rails properly.
10:07 The last AAMRAM was so close...
That flanker is lucky.
Unfortunately he seems to have exhausted his luck in that roll
Got very unlucky later on lol
Exactly this, he cashed in all his luck to defeat that amraam, and didn’t have any left for the dogfight.
@@GrowlingSidewinder Maybe the ghost of that AAMRAM possesed the Archer in spite lmfao
Looked like the AMRAAM was like "i dont get paid enough for this. Good luck in the merge bro, im out"

Well, its a DCS problem, dunno why they havent fixed it yet.
That silver F-22 looks sooo good.
I think it would be cool too see two F-22s in a BVR fight, see if stealth allows them to get to the merge.
That would almost certainly happen if both pilots were competent. However, things happen.
That would be interesting to see if both sides fielded equal stealth fighters would it always end up in a dog fight
How that proximity fuse on the AMRAAM didn't go off has me baffled
@@logicplagueLMAO
10:09 imagine the panick in your eyes when u see an amraam just chasing u 🤣
Just saw that part, I would be terrified!!
It honestly should have detonated if it got that close.
Any missle chasing you will make you sweat
Please do more bandit unknown series , they are perfect , as for dogfights it’s also interesting , but it’s even more interesting when there is multiple rounds and a dogfight start with merge , so there are guns used , but still , all of the videos are perfect , keep it up!
Dude that burner cooked the nose of that final AMRAAM. Thats the only reason I can think of for it not proxying on him haha
I love the BVR fights that end up going to the merge. To me, there’s a sense of 🫡 when both pilots are skilled enough to make it there which makes the dogfight weigh more no matter who wins. That being said I could’ve swore I saw ‘Harbor freight’ on the side of that fox 2
Харбор Фрайт
That last AMRAAM, oh man. I was like “Are you s******* me??” Last time I saw something like that was in your F-14 vs F-15 BVR fight from several years ago, when one of your Phoenixes came within FEET of the F-15’s tail before it finally ran out of energy and the F-15 pulled away from it.
Props to ANVIL - he flew really well. He pulled a GS on GS. We need a re-match of this from the merge and see how it would have ended. Definite let down at the end.
Bro it just shows how REAL life can go. Equipment does not always function properly and things like this happen.
Had his missile not detonated he was dead to the 9x anyway. So fight was over either way.
@@f3nixfire Maybe, but we've all seen very close calls with missiles passing within feet of GS and not doing anything, so who knows.
@@Kiwi_FIFOin this case I highly doubt the missile would have missed. You can see that too by the almost immediate hit from the 9x. In that time the plane wouldn’t really have slowed down yet and not been segnificantly more easy to hit. It might be easier to see for the seeker but the 9x wouldn’t have trouble in this aspect anyway.
Basically I’m 99% sure that missile would have hit no matter what.
@@xanderwusky3001Definitely not, it would’ve missed because of the su35 turning hard but when his missile exploded he stopped turning letting the missile hit.
4:48 Imagine just being in a sailboat, minding your own business, and suddenly an F-22 comes out of nowhere and "buzzes the tower"
10:09 God the missile got so close the nose practically got melted by the afterburner 😂
The OODA Loop was all about teaching fighter pilots how to deal with uncertainty. He stated that often, in confusing situations, we get stuck in how we think things ought to be, instead of staying focused on what is really happening. His advice was to “fight the enemy, not the terrain” as a reminder to stay focused on the situation at hand.
John Boyd
The exploding missile, is that a real-world problem or a simulation problem.
10:12 now thats crazy, seems like he used up all his luck to get by that one, so much so his own missile blew up on his wing lmao.
It’s funny to imagine both jets just firing missiles at each other over the city.
It took a surprisingly long time to hit the ground without any wings. 😄
HOW did that missile miss wowowow
The engine sounds are a thing to behold. It must be a truly glorious thing to be a pilot of such aircraft.
I feel like there is an experiment on if you should notch with stealth. Is doubling or tripling your radar signature by turning side on worth it vs just turning radar off
have you had any videos where this is flipped around (other than the viral one with the f22 in your mirrors)? id like to see how you'd tackle being outmatched and what you might try to do in this situation.
He's done multiple videos with him flying against the F-22...
Check out the Two Morons fight an F-22 video
That was one of the most entertaining videos I've seen on this channel! Very well done!
Based on that angle of the Flanker his missile would have missed you anyways.
That was a cool engagement with an interesting ending. Thanks for putting this together.
That was well fought on the part of both pilots -- kudos to Anvil -- another great video! It looked to me like the Flanker was going to eat that 9X either way, but it would have been interesting to see what his Archer would have done if it had cleared the rail. It would have had to see the Raptor, sporting its Ray Ban coating, and make a heck of a high G turn. Maybe a rematch sometime?
I'd like to see you fly the f-35 more. No one can doubt the Raptor's capabilities, but if the 35 is also 5th gen, how does it compare in a flight on dcs. Does it defend better or worse? It's supposed to be a multirole, does it work well at that job? I they'd be fun to watch
F-35's not very well represented in DCS. It's missing a lot of its capabilities...
better or worse? seriously?
@@MarginalSC
If the F-35 were accurately represented it would have nearly the same stealth as the Raptor, but with better radar and IRST. I've also heard that it's way more maneuverable than people think.
@drksideofthewal Also, can fire missiles at 90 degrees, which makes its turn rate not as important.
@@drksideofthewal The Raptor pilots are pretty contemptuous of the 35. I know they're a problem if properly fed information but if they're by themselves or knocked out of the data link they are supposedly about as challenging as a mid-70s Datsun pickup.
Really appreciate your videos. Always anxious to see you in action. Keep up the terrific work!
You really lnow how to fly and use the F22, and understand it's strengths. You stayed calm, let them deplete their missiles, then engaged them on your terms; it was great to watch 🤙
10:23 they gonna need a crowbar to remove the pilot from the seat cause he had to be CLENCHING
13:17 whoop, cancel that crowbar 😅
I can remember watching a F22 taking off and flying in 2000 at Pax River Maryland. We seriously thought it was some kind of alien shit lol
Your growing so fast, everytime i see a new video you’ve gotten atleast 1k more
Appreciate the grind and quality gs
That was some good buildup, an intense few seconds when the merge happened...and then that ending lol
Why would that happen though? You said you've seen it with Flankers but didn't explain why it would be a common problem.
Also, that final AMRAAM was nuts. Looked like it was barely moving but still keeping up with the Flanker.
maybe the rocket was triggerd by the flares?
I too would love to know why that archer committed suicide…
coding. the Ru missiles are coded as retarded missiles, seekers barely work and they are as agile as a newborn elephant. also they are coded with a lot of bugs.
Probably just a lil realism, I hear russias build quality isn't the best some times,
@@jamesgreenwood6959It is when they have all the quality parts they need. If not they have to settle for less than optimal but do everything they can to keep quality up. I wouldn't scoff.
When your Archer decides to defect...
Thx for this content man, we love you❤
I'm actually curious if that archer would have tracked if it didn't explode on his wing, but then again it didn't look like the flanker had the angle on you, especially since you were head on.
The slow-mo shows GD was already “inside” his turn and would have crossed behind the bandit. The archer would’ve had to do a 270 or better to hit.
By far thee best fight I have seen!!!!
Awesome flying fellas!!
I propose that in all future videos or an F-22 fights a non stealth opponent you go guns only.
i love it how the designers of the flanker didnt made a pylon on the end of the wings an the fox 2s explode on the wing😂
Wtf are you talking about??
🌻
@@Triggatra4258 The su 27 and 35 doesnt have pylons on the end of the wings like the f16

Your dogfighting skills are stunning, enigmatic and functional. You let him swing at air until he depleted himself and swept in and sniped him.
Dude, that was pretty awesome!
I miss practicing an playing, your channel keeps me motivated with wanna keep trying to push through work to get a pc that'll run dcs decently
Great use of tech👍…, nice mix of distance into turn dogfight, love your dogfights, miss your tax-view reviews, great video
Tac-view*
He almost gunned you in that first pass - You saw him just in time. AWESOME fight GS!
@2:43 I recognize the container terminal at Jebel Ali port. I have docked there several times.
The reason it detonated was because it was gong for a off bore shot and before it fully launched it turned into itself and it ignited because of impact on the lower end of the wing
To avoid this missiles have checks and balances, one of the most common ones is that a missile will fly straight off the rail and THEN turn; For this exact reason. Missiles don’t just turn off the rail, many many aircraft would be destroying themselves if this was the case. the archer missile has demonstrated this in many videos so I find it hard to believe that this is what happened here.
Thanks for the brief that makes sense
Love the cinematic! Great to see the sun hit the raptor like that!
Good fight on both ends. Well done guys.
Damn, GS. Great fight, as usual.
Poor Rooskies...sometimes also fighting against their own equipment.
I recently bought a 1060 and have been blissful in dcs world on a TF 51D from Tbilisi to Kutaisi on a minimal graph. I was happy. Not rising above 150 m 35 minutes. I can not imagine what to fly on your hardware.
For a complete catharsis, I turned on Pink Floyd - On the Turning Away Remastered 2019. I did not fly to Kutaisi - the engine stalled, but I successfully paired. My first day.
Peace to all! I hope you will believe me that almost all of my compatriots want this most of all.
Very interesting fight. Great flying by the both of you
I demand a rematch, that merge was one of the most intense I’ve ever seen. To be fair, you were nose on while he was taking a high aspect shot, I’m more shocked that the 9x tracked that close, he was jamming that WEZ all kinds.
That last missile was literally in his jet wash. By all rights it should've just proxied.
I just saw an F-22 today at the Thunder over Michigan airshow, and it's incredible seeing it maneuver unlike any other aircraft. It's cool you uploaded a F-22 video the same day! Great video, keep up the good work!
Yeah a couple years ago I seen it at thunder over Michigan, and it’s almost alien to the older generation fighters. It’s pretty badass.
Burj Khalifa? More like...MERGE Khalifa, amirite?
I'll see myself to the door.
No u can stay, I enjoyed that.
Dubai is an interesting map, pretty flat apart from small clusters of tall buildings. The raptor is looking sharp with reflective coating
I’d love a video explaining what all the different beeps from the cockpit mean
Your last AMRAAM was sniffing his butt like "Should i explode? Naaah, give him a chance at the merge..."
What a sad way to go out in the end.
Alright! Hold my beer for me while I go get some popcorn.
I would love to see a Tacview of this one, been a long time since one of those and this was definitely a very good fight.
That AMRAAM dodge holy shit
Great video as always!
Thank you for your content! Do some P-38 content!
It seems like missiles are defeated quite easily just by a quick little turn at range.
Not TOO hard to make a missile lose track at long distance with changes in your altitude, speed, you can also notch it, turn on jammer, turn OFF your own radar system or terrain mask. MANY ways to defeat even the most advanced A-A weapons.
In the F-22, yes
10:08 that's one of the best (or luckiest) missile defense maneuvers I've ever seen! 😮
Love it when a problem solves itself.
That F22 was super shiny/glossy! looked cool but reflecting so much light like a mirror in the sky, easy for everyone to see hehe!
I don't know a lot but am fascinated by military aircraft. Is there a reason when in these scenarios you can be seen from so far away, but in the videos where you're escorting in bombers or whatever, they usually have no idea you are there in the f22? your vids are awesome!
They have to point its radar in the correct direction to see you.
he is likely playing on a very high resolution monitor, if you watch his videos in a high resolution 2k or even 1440p, they are much easier to spot. they turn from nothing into a pixel.
@@logicplague Not exactly, depends on the aircraft radar. You can even wide or narrow the radious where you want to scan. Obviously this will change the distance to where you be able to pick up a target.
I had the same question. Seemed like the SU 35 and F-22 were taking their shots and evading at the same distances. Would have thought the F-22 would be able to take shots from ranges outside of what was "lockable" for the SU35
I like the trasition from the BVR fight to the Dogfight.
That's cool, that's some Final Destination shit there, after the 120 miss it got him with his own missile.
These are so cool to watch. I wonder how close to reality that is
Honestly...i love these fight..I can't get enough. And I should have worn my White Pants....
Sure is amazing watching Two going head to head..even if it is a Sim,and not 100% accurate...but neither USA, or Russia will ever say all of their tech with these Jets, So we can only guess so far...
but regardless...I do love watching GS Get down in the F-22...Such a Dream to watch him Fly and Fight how he does..and everyone else who fights with him is also Grade Ace pilots all the way through!
Much love GS for all your continued hard-work on everything you do ! ! !
The fox-2 detonation on the wing, is it a real life thing or a bug in the sim?
I'm assuming it can definitely happen, but it's rare.
There is not a window left in that city.
Anvil is a cool name, reminds me of one of my fav callsigns for the E3 sentry.
Could we see what a strike mission would look like in an F-35?
Good showing from both sides
Great video. Can we see a fight between Su-34 and F-15E given the fact that both of them are Air to Ground oriented planes?
Dude chose to go out on his own terms 😂
Anvil did such a good job of evading while staying as offensive as possible, considering the difficult circumstances.
nice chrome paintjob on your f-22
It takes true talent to shoot yourself out of the sky
GS you will have 1 mil subs by Christmas!! Great work…
An Egyptian Rafale blinded and then smoked an Egyptian Su-35 in a training exercise not very long ago.
This was reported in a pro-Russian publication called Avia Pro.
😂
This resource composes and publishes opuses of extremely dubious content, having neither an evidence base nor truthful details about what is happening in the Air Force. Their main difference is loud headlines that catch an unprepared reader.
Great fight! The one thing I don't understand is the purpose of sending 2 fox-3's at once in the middle part of the fight like you did here. Both were fired outside the MAR so the Su-35 can just go cold and defeat both at the same time. Wouldn't having one more missile for the end of the fight be more valuable?
That suchois death was just another reason why missiles should be installed on top of a jets wing, not below 🙃
That would've been a kill regardless, but man, that's demoralizing. A surprisingly fair fight up to that point though, very impressive work from both!
What a great fight. The knowledge to know how long to notch to evade those R-77s is impeccable, and that last AMRAAM was literally being singed by the Su-35s afterburner. Really awesome stuff.
Also anyone know the name of the outro track GS uses?
It's called 'Hold This M'dude' by Canadian Ace.
There's nothing I like more than seeing a Flanker burn. Great fight!
Interesting video. Can you do it from the Flanker's side?
A battle which might be interesting is a f-22 vs. a f-86. I say this as the f-22 relies on stealth to hide from it's enemies but the f-86 doesn't have a search radar so it relies on the pilots vision to locate an enemy. I do believe that in terms of raw power the f-86 would be greatly outclassed but the f-86 is designed for subsonic maneuvering and visual target identification and gun kills.
So it seems like the archer has an issue with collision mapping in this version that causes them to detonate on the rail if fired during certain maneuvers. Likely it’s switching modes early, on ignition instead of after launch, so it treats the rail it’s launched off of as if it has fired then hit it.
Holy crap that was tense!
I can not fathom the amount of international outrage that would occur if an air battle like this took place over a city of 3.5 million people. 🤯
But, GREAT video as always!!!
another awesome video!
10:15 missile is like “tag your it”
