Your collection is never worthless, remember when getting into any kind of collection you are never going to start your collection being top quality and overwhelmingly impressive unless you are absolutely rich hording everything up so nobody else can enjoy the hobby, always have pride in what you are doing or you set yourself up for failure and don't do it for the reason of striking it rich do it for the fun and maybe some day you will find that certain piece, coin collecting will always be fruitful and hold value specially if you collect the proof sets , also keep everything because people are always finding new things just have pride in your collection yourself and have lots of fun that's what makes the hobby priceless. since it's been a year and the youtube coin guy hasn't answered.. i'll let you know that pcgs and ngs are usually the grading services used. i'd recommend asking a local collectors shop if they'd grade it for you for 5 bucks since they probably have a subscription for their inventory grading already.

We've been to a couple of rest areas where they give gold dollars for change, but the machines will only paper Bill's or credit/debit card

How do you get them from a vending machine? I've always gotten under dollar coins back, though I haven't used vending maching that much
In NC, we have Ice machines you put a 5$ in and it gives u 4 gold dollars back.

Hi I have a gold coin with no lettering all around the edges with the lady on it & also have a gold coin from 1817-1825 says 5th president messed up lettering on the outside edges around the gold dollar & it’s only gold on the inside of the circle because the outer edge ⭕️ actually looks like it’s silver could you help me please

Hello couch Collectibles I have a one dollar coin for Ulysses S Grant it's no mint year , there's only the year 1869- 1877 , indicating that he was the 18th president of USA
So I'm doing some commercial plumbing at a VERY large state university complex, there is a vending machine table area with a change dispenser machine down there that only gives dollar coins from 5$ to 20$ bills.. Sacajawea, Susan B's and all the newer gold dollar coins back. What should I look for?! I put in 20$ and get 20 coins mostly gold from 70's to modern. Also there are twix and snickers I can buy lol. Please help me know what coins to spend on snacks and what coins to save. Thank you so much in advance, I know this discussion area I full of people who also enjoy my long lost hobby I've not had time to stay up on.

Yes, it does. The date, mint mark and E PLURIBUS UNUM are incused on the edge. 🙂

You did not mention any of the edge error coins? Weak edge lettering and Partial edge lettering. Also there are a few rare high grade Presidential dollars with graded of MS68, like the Johnson dollar of 2011.
In the very beginning of the video there was mention of lots of error Presidential dollars.

Yes, unless it's in a high mint-state condition. For example, in MS-65, it's worth $3.00. 🙂
