This is a sad state of affairs. She's 8 years old. She has been built up to believe she has an undeniable gift, which down the road will flatten her spirits. The parents shouldn't have put her out there for criticism. They should give her real vocal training and honest feedback. I can only hope that an adult with sound judgment steps in and redirects her path. 😢

We aren't in her shoes, but my son sings well & although he is learning violin, we are truly honest with him... You can't be good at everything... She needs a teacher. There are different methods of singing. Stage vs classical. She needs breathing technique. My son needs it, too! However, her facial emotions are extreme, but for my son to connect anything to words, at that age, was difficult.

What’s really bad is apparently she’s been doing this for years and the performances have been only getting progressively worse and worse but yet the dad continues to put her out there hyper up tell her that she can sing refused to get her a singing teacher, which she desperately desperately needs although at this point, I’m really starting to wonder if you’ve done that would help I mean this is just sick.

She was trying to show off how long she can keep a note plus adding her own personal rendition. It didn't work. Just sing the song even celebs suck when they do this stuff.
People need to stop condescending children. There are plenty of 8 year-olds out there - and America has lots of them - who are super talented and work extremely hard and they sound amazing. This girl is delusional and so were the people who put her there. This is just sad. She will have to grow up with this.

This is horrific. People building her up and telling her how amazing she is, is not helping her. Dad needs to admit that she needs to take a break from doing the circuit and get some singing lessons. I'm tone deaf and this hurt my ears.

I love it that your being real about this. I applaud her for having confidence.. There is nothing wrong about that. But wow her voice needs work. And also singing our National Anthem doesnt require someone singing it with bends and twists like soul hip hop type music. Just singing it plain works very effectively. The song is what is strong, not the person singing it. Our Anthem can hold its own with out needing to be spiced up, or in this case, butchered.
I feel bad for her but man that really was bad. I would hope if this was me my parents would not let my go out there. No one ever tells you your a bad singer.

I completely agree because some thing is going on here that we don’t know about how on God‘s green earth is a fourth grade teacher, who clearly doesn’t make a lot of money because teachers unfortunately don’t get paid enough. How is he been able to do this for years on end And the performance is progressively get worse and worse.
Whoever this girl's parent or guardian is should be tried for Child Abuse. They allowed this child to destroy her life. This will follow her forever.
