I’ve been watching HTH for quite awhile now and I have great respect for tow truck operators. Whether it’s the HR or the smaller ones. Very dangerous out in the roads. People have no respect for the lives of these men.

Watching these episodes, there is a pretty easy and safe way to get traffic to slow on the Quocahalla Pass; employ variable speed limit. It works in Europe. Full speed when the road is clear and dry, but signs changing the limit appropriately for conditions on the road. Where Jamie was dealing with the dump truck, the speed limit should have been reduced to 70 or even 60 km/h. Conditions vary wildly and suddenly. Being able to get traffic, especially trucks, slowed to safe speeds everyone would have a fighting chance at a successful arrival.

Anybody find the commentator irritating besides me? 2 or 3 words and a 5 second pause. If the video part wasn’t so good, I wouldn’t bother.
