    I have a Ford F-150 with us 6-6 box what would you recommend coming off the back of the truck or the side that truck to accommodate four people with an Annex. I originally thought coming off the back of the truck so you could access cargo and Luggage inside the truck from Under the Tent and through the annex does that make sense in terms of optimal setup. Also when you arrive and you're stuck with a storm and it's raining hard I was thinking that if you come off the back getting your gear out of the truck and Under the Tent inside the annex gear would stay dryer and it would be faster to unload in tough conditions cheers..Canada's watching

    The only downside i see in this against any regular family camping tent is that, if its a long camping trip and you happen to forget or run out of essentials is that you have to pack away everything again just to buy or get to re supply your essentials, however little or trivial that may be, guess you just have to cut that camping trip short, or just really plan well everything ahead, up to the smallest of details and possible surprises, which i truly doubt.

    FYI to commentators, if you carry a 4x6 trailer with 2 dirt bikes or an ATV you can have camp set up and not need to unpack to do longer/faster exploring. Heck even a bicycle can cover long distances and no need for gasoline or petrol.
    Tents and most material things in life cost. Some spend the money on tents, camping, travelling etc. Some choose other things, it is not that important what other choose but it is important to know it is possible.. I know no limit as to how many ways there is to live, especially to live happy.

    Just wondering if there any issues with the weight on the top of the car. I know the roof racks will support the weight but, Holden for example, only allow 70kg. Roof rack and tent will be closer to 80+kg not sure if that voids insurance

    I bought a secondhand howling moon rtt. Couple of queries. The bottom of the ladder separates from the top when unfolding the tent. Should there be springs or pins to stop it doing this? Also when the tent is open, is it just the ladder that hold the weight of the floor that is not over the car roof?

Last I emailed was a week after Christmas and I’m still waiting for a reply (30th Jan). Even tried contacting Andre but nothing. Considering I’m looking at spending $7k on a package they don’t seem to interested in making a sale. Starting to wonder if I should just look elsewhere.

      I believe he is referring to the strength of the hinge where the base folds out. Imagine the tent base is folded out completely, but without the ladder there to support the floor that hangs over the side of the vehicle, then he would hold onto where the ladder hangs from. Hopefully that makes sense/is what he was referring to!

    Finding level groud is hard enough let alone finding a place for your 4x4 - then there's the potential for falling limbs from tree's ect - I also wouldn't want to pack it up wet nor would I want to be touring with it or climbing down a ladder at 3am to take a wiz.
    I guess it works for some.

    The main reason I can’t use a RTT after price is when I go camping I like to be able to drive around during the day without having to fold up my tent every day. You could say I like having a base camp type scenario when I’m camping. And a RTT just doesn’t work for that style of camping. Sorry mate

    Idea, gallium aluminum alloy will produce hydrogen from water. Why not design a solor powered small Joe cell fill it half way with aluminum gallium alloy and then fill the rest of the joe cell up with urine then pass electrical frequency through joe cell to process HHO from the urine that charges solid state sponge hydrogen power cells? Then those hydrogen power cells can be used to operate electrical power generators heating systems absorption refrigeration units and to cook food and heat water. Design a system to be used with your roof top tent shelter system. 😊 What do you think about this unique concept? This is a base concept simple a more advanced concept is available if your interested? 😊

      I agree a hardtop would be better than our folding rtt in some areas, primarily setup and takedown, but they lack some of the advantages such as size (ours is very large) and the shelter from the overhang. They are also more expensive.

    • @atypical_moto
      @atypical_moto Před 6 lety +2

      I'd say the hard tops are over rated. Add a grand to the cost, you lose space and often times the canvas isn't as good. All this to have a hard transporting shell?

If you take a look at the Howling Moon history back in Africa you will see that they are one of the best in the their field in what they do and only use the best components. Why be so naive with this comment when you should take a look at the website or contact the company on a personal level asking for YOUR specific requests instead of commenting a negative post...
