    As an owner of a 599 I could not agree with you more. These cars are very robust and for performance/dollar value are hard to beat. They were deemed to big when new but compared to todays every increasing car sizes they look demure, subtle, sophisticated and elegant. Todays trend of design is to aggressive for me and boy racer. Love my purchase and as good as they look in photos they are that much better in person, every time I pull into a cars and coffee it draws a crowd.

      I like the 599 (especially in dark grey, dark blue or black), but I own an F12 and it's the far better car. It's lighter, smaller but with more space inside, looks better (okay, that's subjective), is much more modern, has an incredible sound from stock and the V12 is mated to a fantastic 7-speed double clutch gearbox. Maybe you should think about an upgrade ;-)

      @@konnected1group871 Well, as a daily driver I don't know. I find it too precious for everyday use. I reserve it for the rare but nice moments during the week - going out for dinner with it for example. And don't forgett, it consumes quite a bit of fuel - and you always need a safe and shady parking space. I don't want anybody do slam his door into
      my FF - and I don't want the sun to burn and shrink the lovely leather interior. Other than that? If you want my personal opinion? Go for it! Pull the trigger! This car is fantastic and it surpasses all my expecations! A pure pleasure! The looks, the interior, the performance......and: the sound!! You will get addicted to the sound! I did! I honestly think, money no object, is the best ferrari for looks. Is an F12 with 2 extra seats. And if you really want the HP you can modify it, but after owning one for a month (after owning an M46 BMW M3 CSL), it doesn't need more power! I prefer it much more than the poor interior of the GTC4 Lusso. Every reviewer hates it. I love the FF. Is classy and classic. I feel like you need to analyse the 599 with the front engine v12 ferrari's that are inbetween it. The F12 and the 550/575. These droped to the low 100k's so I could see 599's doing the same. The FF I think will go lower too because too many people will be scared to buy one because of its intricate awd system.

    • @shawnhicks619
      @shawnhicks619 Před 3 lety +2

      The FF had a lot more lurking issues then the 599. The FF uses the first gen dual clutch transmission that was used in the California, the 458, and the FF, which suffered from catastrophic sensor failure. Luckily enough of these failed that techs were trained to open the gear boxes and perform the repairs instead of a full gearbox replacement. The FF also suffers from gearbox seal failures and power transfer unit failures, which are very common, and the car becomes a brick when it does.
      The 599 uses the more reliable but dated single clutch F1 transmission. While in theory the dual clutch should outlast and out perform the old F1 the DCT failures being expensive to repair puts the known price of clutch replacement in the 599 ahead by a long shot. Since the F1 has been around it’s issues are well known and can be repaired by a competent independent mechanic where DCT repairs will almost always require a dealer as most parts are dealer restricted.
      But I agree either car is a good value at current price points. If you had the Ferrari new power warranty on the FF it’s a heck of a deal for the power you get.

    I believe that the introduction of the Ferrari SUV will depress the prices of the FF and the GTC4Lusso even further.
    The $110K 599 HGTE car is a flood-loss vehicle, with a salvage title. It should probably be removed from your sample; it is totally unrepresentative.
    Price increases are probably influenced by the general shortage of used cars universally.

    The FF has been dropping hard in price because of the PTU issues, which seems to be a ticking time bomb (very expensive fix, sounds like $30k-40k).
    Most owners might not have encountered the issue yet, because a lot of Ferrari owners don't put a lot of milage on their cars, but it sounds like as time has gone by, more and more cars are starting to see the issue. There are a bunch of threads about the issue on the Ferrari forums
